Jeremiah 50 in Tamil

1 கர்த்தர் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய எரேமியாவைக்கொண்டு பாபிலோனுக்கும் கல்தேயர் தேசத்துக்கும் விரோதமாக உரைத்த வசனம்: The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

2 பாபிலோன் பிடிபட்டது; பேல் வெட்கப்பட்டது; மேராதாக் நொறுங்குண்டது; அதினுடைய சிலைகள் இலச்சையடைந்தது; அதினுடைய விக்கிரகங்கள் நொறுங்கிப்போயின என்று ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே அறிவித்துப் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்; இதை மறைக்காமல் கொடியேற்றி விளம்பரம்பண்ணுங்கள். Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

3 அதற்கு விரோதமாய் வடக்கேயிருந்து ஒரு ஜாதி வந்து, அதின் தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்கிப்போடும்; அதிலே குடியிருப்பாரில்லை; மனுஷரோடே மிருகங்களும் ஓடிப்போய்விடும். For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4 அந்நாட்களிலும் அக்காலத்திலும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் வருவார்கள்; அவர்களும் யூதா புத்திரரும் ஏகமாய் அழுது, நடந்துவந்து, தங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைத் தேடுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.

5 மறக்கப்படாத நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையினால் நாம் கர்த்தரைச் சேர்ந்துகொள்வோம் வாருங்கள் என்று சீயோனுக்கு நேராய் முகங்களைத் திருப்பி, சீயோனுக்குப் போகிற வழி எதுவென்று கேட்டு விசாரிப்பார்கள். They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

6 என் ஜனங்கள் காணாமற்போன ஆடுகள், அவர்களுடைய மேய்ப்பர்கள் அவர்களைச் சிதறப்பண்ணி, பர்வதங்களில் அலையவிட்டார்கள்; ஒரு மலையிலிருந்து மறுமலைக்குப் போனார்கள்; தங்கள் தொழுவத்தை மறந்து விட்டார்கள். My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

7 அவர்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்தவர்கள் எல்லாரும் அவர்களைப் பட்சித்தார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய சத்துருக்கள்: எங்கள் மேல் குற்றமில்லை; அவர்கள் நீதியின் வாசஸ்தலத்திலே கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாக, தங்கள் பிதாக்கள் நம்பின கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகவே பாவஞ்செய்தார்கள் என்றார்கள். All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

8 பாபிலோனின் நடுவிலிருந்தோடி கல்தேயரின் தேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, மந்தையின்முன்நடக்கும் கடாக்களைப்போல் இருங்கள். Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

9 இதோ, நான் பாபிலோனுக்கு விரோதமாக வடதேசத்தில் இருக்கும் பெரிய ஜாதிகளின் கூட்டத்தை எழுப்பி, அதை வரப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவர்கள் அதற்கு விரோதமாக ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுவார்கள்; அங்கேயிருந்து வருகிறவர்களால் அது பிடிக்கப்படும்; அவர்களுடைய அம்புகள் சாமர்த்தியமுள்ள பராக்கிரமசாலிகயின் அம்புகளைப்போல் இருக்கும்; அவைகள் விருதாவாய்த் திரும்புவதில்லை. For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

10 கல்தேயா கொள்ளையாகும்; அதைக் கொள்ளையிடுகிறவர்கள் எல்லாரும் பரிபூரணமடைவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the LORD.

11 என் சுதந்தரத்தைக் கொள்ளையிட்ட நீங்கள் சந்தோஷித்தீர்களே, களிகூர்ந்தீர்களே, புல்மேய்ந்து கொழுத்த கடாரியைப்போல் பூரித்து, வலியரிஷபம்போல் முக்காரம் போடுகிறீர்களே. Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

12 உங்கள் தாய் மிகவும் வெட்கி, உங்களைப் பெற்றவள் நாணமடைவாள்; இதோ, அவள் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே கடைசியாவதுமன்றி, வனாந்தரமும் வறட்சியும் அந்தரவெளியுமாவாள். Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

13 கர்த்தரின் கோபத்தினாலே அது குடியற்றதும் பெரும்பாழுமாயிருக்கும்; பாபிலோனைக் கடந்துபோகிற எவனும் அதின் எல்லா வாதைகளினிமித்தமும் பிரமித்து, ஈசல்போடுவான். Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

14 நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் பாபிலோனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ச் சுற்றிலும் அணிவகுத்து நின்று, வில்லை நாணேற்றி, அதின்மேல் அம்புகளை எய்யுங்கள்; அம்புச்செலவைப் பாராதேயுங்கள்; அது, கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்தது, Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.

15 அதற்கு விரோதமாய்ச் சுற்றிலும் ஆர்ப்பரியுங்கள்; அது தன்னைக் கையளித்தது; அதின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் விழுந்தது, அதின் மதில்கள் இடிக்கப்பட்டது; இது கர்த்தர் வாங்கும் பழி; அதினிடத்தில் பழிவாங்குங்கள்; அது செய்ததுபோலவே நீங்களும் அதற்குச் செய்யுங்கள். Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

16 விதைவிதைக்கிறவனையும் அறுப்புக்காலத்தில் அரிவாளைப் பிடிக்கிறவனையும் பாபிலோனில் இராதபடிச் சங்காரம்பண்ணுங்கள்; கொல்லுகிற பட்டயத்துக்குத் தப்ப அவரவர் தங்கள் ஜனத்தண்டைக்குத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டு, அவரவர் தங்கள் தேசத்துக்கு ஓடிப்போவார்கள். Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

17 இஸ்ரவேல் தெறிப்பட்டுப்போன ஆடு, சிங்கங்கள் அதைத் துரத்தின; முதலில் அசீரியா ராஜா அதைப் பட்சித்தான்; கடைசியில் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய இந்த நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் அதின் எலும்புகளை முறித்தான். Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

18 ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்; இதோ, நான் அசீரியா ராஜாவை தண்டித்ததுபோல் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவையும் அவன் தேசத்தையும் தண்டித்து, Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19 இஸ்ரவேலை அதின் வாசஸ்தலத்துக்குத் திரும்பிவரப்பண்ணுவேன்; அப்பொழுது அது கர்மேலிலும் பாசானிலும் மேயும்; எப்பிராயீமின் மலைகளிலும் கீலேயாத்திலும் அதின் ஆத்துமா திருப்தியாகும். And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 அந்நாட்களிலும் அக்காலத்திலும் இஸ்ரவேலின் அக்கிரமம் தேடப்பட்டாலும் அது காணாதிருக்கும்; யூதாவின் பாவங்கள் தேடப்பட்டாலும் அவைகள் கிடையாதிருக்கும்; நான் மீதியாக வைக்கிறவர்களுக்கு மன்னிப்பேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

21 மெரதாயீம் தேசத்துக்கு விரோதமாகவும் பேகோடு குடிகளுக்கு விரோதமாகவும் நீ போய், அவர்களைத் துரத்தி, யாவையும் பாழாக்கிச் சங்காரம்பண்ணி, நான் உனக்கு கட்டளையிட்டபடியெல்லாம் செய் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.

22 தேசத͠Τிலே யுத்ததின் சத்Τமும் மகா சங்Εாரமும் உண்டு. A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

23 சர்வ பூமியின் சம்மட͠Οி எப்படி முறித்து உடைக்கப்பட்டது! ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே பாபிலோன் எப்படிப் பாழாப்போயிற்று! How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

24 பாபிலோனே, உனக்குக் கண்ணியை வைத்தேன், நீ அதை அறியாமல் அதிலே சிக்குண்டுபோனாய்; நீ அகப்பட்டும் பிடிபட்டும் போனாய், நீ கர்த்தரோடே யுத்தங்கலந்தாயே. I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD.

25 கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய ஆய்தசாலையைத் திறந்து, தம்முடைய சினத்தின் அஸ்திராயுதங்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார்; இது கல்தேயர் தேசத்திலே சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் செய்கிற கிரியை. The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26 கடையாந்திரத்திலிருந்து அதற்கு விரோதமாக வந்து, அதின் களஞ்சியங்களைத் திறந்து, குவியல் குவியலாகக் குவித்து, அதில் ஒன்றும் மீதியாகாதபடிக்கு அதை முற்றிலும் அழித்துப்போடுங்கள். Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.

27 அதின் காளைகளையெல்லாம் வெட்டுங்கள்; அவைகள் கொலைக்களம் சேரக்கடவது; ஐயோ! அவர்கள் விசாரிக்கப்படும் நாள் வந்ததே. Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.

28 நம்முடைய தேவன் பழிவாங்கினதை, அவர் தமது ஆலயத்துக்காகப் பழிவாங்கினதையே, சீயோனிலே அறிவிக்கும்படிக்கு, பாபிலோன் தேசத்திலிருந்து தப்பியோடிவந்தவர்களின் சத்தம் கேட்கப்படும். The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.

29 பாபிலோனுக்கு விரோதமாய் வரும்படி வில்வீரரை அழையுங்கள்; வில் வளைக்கிறவர்களே, நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் அதற்கு விரோதமாய்ச் சுற்றிலும் பாளயமிறங்குங்கள், ஒருவரையும் தப்பவிடாதிருங்கள்; அதின் கிரியைக்குத்தக்க பலனை அதற்குச் சரிகட்டுங்கள்; அது செய்ததின்படியெல்லாம் அதற்குச் செய்யுங்கள்; அது இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தராகிய கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாக இடும்புசெய்தது. Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.

30 ஆகையால் அதின் வாலிபர் அதின் வீதிகளில் விழுவார்கள்; அதின் யுத்தவீரர் எல்லாரும் அந்நாளிலே சங்காரமாவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD.

31 இதோ, இடும்புள்ளவனே, நான் உனக்கு விரோதமாக வருகிறேன் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்; நான் உன்னை விசாரிக்குங்காலமாகிய உன்னுடைய நாள் வந்தது. Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

32 இடும்புள்ளவன் இடறிவிழுவான்; அவனை எடுத்து நிறுத்துவாரில்லை; நான் அவனுடைய பட்டணங்களில் அக்கினியைக் கொளுத்துவேன், அது அவன் சுற்றுப்புறத்தார் எல்லாரையும் பட்சிக்கும். And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

33 சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்: இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரும் யூதா புத்திரரும் ஏகமாய் ஒடுங்குண்டார்கள்; அவர்களைச் சிறையாக்கின யாவரும் அவர்களை விடமாட்டோம் என்று கெட்டியாய்ப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டார்கள். Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

34 அவர்களுடைய மீட்பரோவெனில் வல்லமையுள்ளவர், சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் என்பது அவருடைய நாமம்; தேசத்தை இளைப்பாறப் பண்ணுவதற்கும், பாபிலோன் குடிகளைத் தத்தளிக்கப்பண்ணுவதற்கும் அவர்களுடைய வழக்கை அவர் நடத்துவார். Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35 பட்டயம் கல்தேயர்மேலும், பாபிலோன் குடிகள்மேலும், அதினுடைய பிரபுக்கள்மேலும், அதினுடைய ஞானிகள்மேலும் வருமென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

36 பட்டயம் பொய்களைப் பிணைக்கிறவர்கள்மேலும் வரும்; அவர்கள் பைத்தியக்காரராவார்கள்; பட்டயம் அதின் பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் மேலும் வரும், அவர்கள் கலங்குவார்கள். A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

37 பட்டயம் அதின் குதிரைகள் மேலும், அதின் இரதங்கள்மேலும், அதின் நடுவில் இருக்கிற பலஜாதியான ஜனங்கள் யாவர்மேலும் வரும், அவர்கள் பேடிகளாவார்கள்; பட்டயம் அதின் பொக்கிஷங்களின்மேல் வரும், அவைகள் கொள்ளையாகும். A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

38 வறட்சி அதின் தண்ணீர்கள்மேல் வரும் அவைகள் வறண்டுபோம்; அது விக்கிரக தேசம்; அருக்களிப்பான சிலைகளின்மேல் மனமயங்கியிருக்கிறார்கள். A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

39 ஆகையால் காட்டுமிருகங்களும் ஓரிகளும் அதிலே குடியிருக்கும்; கோட்டான்கள் அதிலே தங்கும்; இனி என்றென்றைக்கும் அது குடியேற்றப்படுவதில்லை; தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக ஒருவரும் அதில் சஞ்சரிப்பதுமில்லை. Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

40 தேவன் சோதோமையும் கொமோராவையும் அதின் சுற்றுப்புறங்களையும் கவிழ்த்துப்போட்டதுபோல இதையும் கவிழ்த்துப்போடுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; ஒருவரும் அதில் குடியிருப்பதில்லை, ஒரு மனுபுத்திரனும் அதில் தங்குவதுமில்லை. As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

41 இதோ, வடக்கேயிருந்து ஒரு ஜனமும் பெரிய ஜாதியும் வரும்; பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து பலத்த ராஜாக்கள் எழும்புவார்கள். Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

42 அவர்கள் வில்லும் வேலும் பிடித்துவருவார்கள்; அவர்கள் இரக்கமில்லாத கொடியர்; அவர்கள் இரைச்சல் சமுத்திர இரைச்சல்போல் இருக்கும்; பாபிலோன் குமாரத்தியே, அவர்கள் உனக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தத்துக்கு ஆயத்தப்பட்ட ஆட்களாய்க் குதிரைகளின் மேல் ஏறி வருவார்கள். They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

43 அவர்கள் வருகிற செய்தியை பாபிலோன் ராஜா கேட்கையில் அவன் கைகள் தளரும்; இடுக்கமும் பிரசவ வேதனைப்படுகிறவளுக்குண்டாகும் வேதனையப்போன்ற வேதனையும் அவனைப் பிடிக்கும். The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

44 இதோ, புரண்டு ஓடுகிற யோர்தானிலிருந்து சிங்கத்தைப்போல் பலவானுடைய தாபரத்துக்கு விரோதமாக வருகிறான்; அவனை அங்கேயிருந்து சடிதியிலே ஓடிவரப்பண்ணுவேன்; நான் அதற்கு விரோதமாகக் கட்டளையிட்டு, அனுப்பத் தெரிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்டவன் யார்? எனக்குச் சமானமானவன் யார்? எனக்கு திட்டஞ்சொல்பவன் யார்? எனக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கப்போகிற மேய்ப்பன் யார்? Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

45 ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் பாபிலோனுக்கு விரோதமாக யோசித்த ஆலோசனையையும் அவர் கல்தேயர் தேசத்துக்கு விரோதமாக நினைத்திருக்கிற நினைவுகளையும் கேளுங்கள்; மெய்யாகவே மந்தையில் சிறியவர்கள் அவர்களைப் பிடித்திழுப்பார்கள்; மெய்யாகவே அவர்கள் இருக்கிற தாபரங்களை அவர் பாழாக்குவார். Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

46 பாபிலோன் பிடிபட்டதின் சத்தத்தினால் பூமி அதிரும், அதின் கூப்பிடுதல் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே கேட்கப்படும். At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

1 Karththar theerkkatharisiyaakiya eraemiyaavaikkonndu paapilonukkum kalthaeyar thaesaththukkum virothamaaka uraiththa vasanam: The word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

2 Paapilon pitipattathu; pael vetkappattathu; maeraathaak noraுngunndathu; athinutaiya silaikal ilachchaைyatainthathu; athinutaiya vikkirakangal noraுngippoyina entu jaathikalukkullae ariviththup pirasiththampannnungal; ithai maraikkaamal kotiyaetti vilamparampannnungal. Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

3 Atharku virothamaay vadakkaeyirunthu oru jaathi vanthu, athin thaesaththaip paalaakkippodum; athilae kutiyiruppaarillai; manusharotae mirukangalum otippoyvidum. For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4 Annaatkalilum akkaalaththilum Israel puththirar varuvaarkal; avarkalum yoothaa puththirarum aekamaay aluthu, nadanthuvanthu, thangal thaevanaakiya karththaraith thaeduvaarkal entu Karththar sollukiraar. In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.

5 Marakkappadaatha niththiya udanpatikkaiyinaal naam karththaraich sernthukolvom vaarungal entu seeyonukku naeraay mukangalaith thiruppi, seeyonukkup pokira vali ethuventu kaettu visaarippaarkal. They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the LORD in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

6 En janangal kaannaamarpona aadukal, avarkalutaiya maeypparkal avarkalaich sitharappannnni, parvathangalil alaiyavittarkal; oru malaiyilirunthu maraுmalaikkup ponaarkal; thangal tholuvaththai maranthu vittarkal. My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

7 Avarkalaik kanndupitiththavarkal ellaarum avarkalaip patchiththaarkal; avarkalutaiya saththurukkal: engal mael kuttamillai; avarkal neethiyin vaasasthalaththilae karththarukku virothamaaka, thangal pithaakkal nampina karththarukku virothamaakavae paavanjaெythaarkal entarkal. All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the LORD, the habitation of justice, even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.

8 Paapilonin naduvilirunthoti kalthaeyarin thaesaththaivittup purappattu, manthaiyinmunnadakkum kadaakkalaippol irungal. Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

9 Itho, naan paapilonukku virothamaaka vadathaesaththil irukkum periya jaathikalin koottaththai eluppi, athai varappannnuvaen; avarkal atharku virothamaaka aayaththampannnuvaarkal; angaeyirunthu varukiravarkalaal athu pitikkappadum; avarkalutaiya ampukal saamarththiyamulla paraakkiramasaalikayin ampukalaippol irukkum; avaikal viruthaavaayth thirumpuvathillai. For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

10 Kalthaeyaa kollaiyaakum; athaik kollaiyidukiravarkal ellaarum paripooranamataivaarkal entu Karththar sollukiraar. And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the LORD.

11 En suthantharaththaik kollaiyitta neengal santhoshiththeerkalae, kalikoorntheerkalae, pulmaeynthu koluththa kadaariyaippol pooriththu, valiyarishapampol mukkaaram podukireerkalae. Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

12 Ungal thaay mikavum vetki, ungalaip pettaval naanamataivaal; itho, aval jaathikalukkullae kataisiyaavathumanti, vanaantharamum varatchiyum antharaveliyumaavaal. Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

13 Karththarin kopaththinaalae athu kutiyattathum perumpaalumaayirukkum; paapilonaik kadanthupokira evanum athin ellaa vaathaikalinimiththamum piramiththu, eesalpoduvaan. Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

14 Neengal ellaarum paapilonukku virothamaaych suttilum annivakuththu nintu, villai naanneetti, athinmael ampukalai eyyungal; ampuchchelavaip paaraathaeyungal; athu, karththarukku virothamaayp paavanjaெythathu, Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD.

15 Atharku virothamaaych suttilum aarppariyungal; athu thannaik kaiyaliththathu; athin asthipaarangal vilunthathu, athin mathilkal itikkappattathu; ithu Karththar vaangum pali; athinidaththil palivaangungal; athu seythathupolavae neengalum atharkuch seyyungal. Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

16 Vithaivithaikkiravanaiyum araுppukkaalaththil arivaalaip pitikkiravanaiyum paapilonil iraathapatich sangaarampannnungal; kollukira pattayaththukkuth thappa avaravar thangal janaththanntaikkuth thiruppik konndu, avaravar thangal thaesaththukku otippovaarkal. Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

17 Israel therippattuppona aadu, singangal athaith thuraththina; muthalil aseeriyaa raajaa athaip patchiththaan; kataisiyil paapilon raajaavaakiya intha naepukaathnaechchaாr athin elumpukalai muriththaan. Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

18 Aakaiyaal isravaelin thaevanaakiya senaikalin Karththar sollukirathu ennavental; itho, naan aseeriyaa raajaavai thanntiththathupol paapilon raajaavaiyum avan thaesaththaiyum thanntiththu, Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19 Isravaelai athin vaasasthalaththukkuth thirumpivarappannnuvaen; appoluthu athu karmaelilum paasaanilum maeyum; eppiraayeemin malaikalilum geelaeyaaththilum athin aaththumaa thirupthiyaakum. And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 Annaatkalilum akkaalaththilum isravaelin akkiramam thaedappattalum athu kaannaathirukkum; yoothaavin paavangal thaedappattalum avaikal kitaiyaathirukkum; naan meethiyaaka vaikkiravarkalukku mannippaen entu Karththar sollukiraar. In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

21 Merathaayeem thaesaththukku virothamaakavum paekodu kutikalukku virothamaakavum nee poy, avarkalaith thuraththi, yaavaiyum paalaakkich sangaarampannnni, naan unakku kattalaiyittapatiyellaam sey entu Karththar sollukiraar. Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the LORD, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.

22 Thaesatha͠Τிlae yuththathin sathΤmum makaa sangΕாramum unndu. A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

23 Sarva poomiyin sammada͠Οி eppati muriththu utaikkappattathu! Jaathikalukkullae paapilon eppatip paalaappoyittaு! How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

24 Paapilonae, unakkuk kannnniyai vaiththaen, nee athai ariyaamal athilae sikkunnduponaay; nee akappattum pitipattum ponaay, nee karththarotae yuththangalanthaayae. I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD.

25 Karththar thammutaiya aaythasaalaiyaith thiranthu, thammutaiya sinaththin asthiraayuthangalai eduththukkonndu vanthaar; ithu kalthaeyar thaesaththilae senaikalin karththaraakiya aanndavar seykira kiriyai. The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26 Kataiyaanthiraththilirunthu atharku virothamaaka vanthu, athin kalanjiyangalaith thiranthu, kuviyal kuviyalaakak kuviththu, athil ontum meethiyaakaathapatikku athai muttilum aliththuppodungal. Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.

27 Athin kaalaikalaiyellaam vettungal; avaikal kolaikkalam serakkadavathu; aiyo! Avarkal visaarikkappadum naal vanthathae. Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.

28 Nammutaiya Dhevan palivaanginathai, avar thamathu aalayaththukkaakap palivaanginathaiyae, seeyonilae arivikkumpatikku, paapilon thaesaththilirunthu thappiyotivanthavarkalin saththam kaetkappadum. The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, the vengeance of his temple.

29 Paapilonukku virothamaay varumpati vilveerarai alaiyungal; vil valaikkiravarkalae, neengal ellaarum atharku virothamaaych suttilum paalayamirangungal, oruvaraiyum thappavidaathirungal; athin kiriyaikkuththakka palanai atharkuch sarikattungal; athu seythathinpatiyellaam atharkuch seyyungal; athu isravaelin Parisuththaraakiya karththarukku virothamaaka idumpuseythathu. Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.

30 Aakaiyaal athin vaalipar athin veethikalil viluvaarkal; athin yuththaveerar ellaarum annaalilae sangaaramaavaarkal entu Karththar sollukiraar. Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD.

31 Itho, idumpullavanae, naan unakku virothamaaka varukiraேn entu senaikalin karththaraakiya aanndavar sollukiraar; naan unnai visaarikkungaalamaakiya unnutaiya naal vanthathu. Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord GOD of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

32 Idumpullavan idariviluvaan; avanai eduththu niraுththuvaarillai; naan avanutaiya pattanangalil akkiniyaik koluththuvaen, athu avan suttaுppuraththaar ellaaraiyum patchikkum. And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

33 Senaikalin Karththar sollukirathu ennavental: Israel puththirarum yoothaa puththirarum aekamaay odungunndaarkal; avarkalaich siraiyaakkina yaavarum avarkalai vidamaattaோm entu kettiyaayp pitiththukkonndaarkal. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

34 Avarkalutaiya meetparovenil vallamaiyullavar, senaikalin Karththar enpathu avarutaiya naamam; thaesaththai ilaippaarap pannnuvatharkum, paapilon kutikalaith thaththalikkappannnuvatharkum avarkalutaiya valakkai avar nadaththuvaar. Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35 Pattayam kalthaeyarmaelum, paapilon kutikalmaelum, athinutaiya pirapukkalmaelum, athinutaiya njaanikalmaelum varumentu Karththar sollukiraar. A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the LORD, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

36 Pattayam poykalaip pinnaikkiravarkalmaelum varum; avarkal paiththiyakkaararaavaarkal; pattayam athin paraakkiramasaalikal maelum varum, avarkal kalanguvaarkal. A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

37 Pattayam athin kuthiraikal maelum, athin irathangalmaelum, athin naduvil irukkira palajaathiyaana janangal yaavarmaelum varum, avarkal paetikalaavaarkal; pattayam athin pokkishangalinmael varum, avaikal kollaiyaakum. A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

38 Varatchi athin thannnneerkalmael varum avaikal varanndupom; athu vikkiraka thaesam; arukkalippaana silaikalinmael manamayangiyirukkiraarkal. A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

39 Aakaiyaal kaattumirukangalum orikalum athilae kutiyirukkum; kottankal athilae thangum; ini ententaikkum athu kutiyaettappaduvathillai; thalaimurai thalaimuraiyaaka oruvarum athil sanjarippathumillai. Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

40 Dhevan sothomaiyum komoraavaiyum athin suttaுppurangalaiyum kavilththuppottathupola ithaiyum kavilththuppoduvaen entu Karththar sollukiraar; oruvarum athil kutiyiruppathillai, oru manupuththiranum athil thanguvathumillai. As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

41 Itho, vadakkaeyirunthu oru janamum periya jaathiyum varum; poomiyin ellaikalilirunthu palaththa raajaakkal elumpuvaarkal. Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

42 Avarkal villum vaelum pitiththuvaruvaarkal; avarkal irakkamillaatha kotiyar; avarkal iraichchal samuththira iraichchalpol irukkum; paapilon kumaaraththiyae, avarkal unakku virothamaaka yuththaththukku aayaththappatta aatkalaayk kuthiraikalin mael aeri varuvaarkal. They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

43 Avarkal varukira seythiyai paapilon raajaa kaetkaiyil avan kaikal thalarum; idukkamum pirasava vaethanaippadukiravalukkunndaakum vaethanaiyapponta vaethanaiyum avanaip pitikkum. The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

44 Itho, puranndu odukira yorthaanilirunthu singaththaippol palavaanutaiya thaaparaththukku virothamaaka varukiraan; avanai angaeyirunthu satithiyilae otivarappannnuvaen; naan atharku virothamaakak kattalaiyittu, anuppath therinthu kollappattavan yaar? Enakkuch samaanamaanavan yaar? Enakku thittanjaொlpavan yaar? Enakku munpaaka nirkappokira maeyppan yaar? Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

45 Aakaiyaal Karththar paapilonukku virothamaaka yosiththa aalosanaiyaiyum avar kalthaeyar thaesaththukku virothamaaka ninaiththirukkira ninaivukalaiyum kaelungal; meyyaakavae manthaiyil siriyavarkal avarkalaip pitiththiluppaarkal; meyyaakavae avarkal irukkira thaaparangalai avar paalaakkuvaar. Therefore hear ye the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

46 Paapilon pitipattathin saththaththinaal poomi athirum, athin kooppiduthal jaathikalukkullae kaetkappadum. At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.
