Psalm 18 in Tamil

1 என் பெலனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, உம்மில் அன்புகூருவேன். I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

2 கர்த்தர் என் கன்மலையும், என் கோட்டையும், என் இரட்சகரும், என் தேவனும் நான் நம்பியிருக்கிற என் துருகமும், என் கேடகமும், என் இரட்சணியக் கொம்பும், என் உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமுமாயிருக்கிறார். The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 துதிக்குப் பாத்திரராகிய கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவேன்; அதனால் என் சத்துருக்களுக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சிக்கப்படுவேன். I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

4 மரணக்கட்டுகள் என்னைச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டது; துர்ச்சனப்பிரவாகம் என்னைப் பயப்படுத்தினது. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

5 பாதாளக்கட்டுகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது; மரணக்கண்ணிகள் என்மேல் விழுந்தது. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

6 எனக்கு உண்டான நெருக்கத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, என் தேவனை நோக்கி அபயமிட்டேன்; தமது ஆலயத்திலிருந்து என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டார், என் கூப்பிடுதல் அவர் சந்நிதியில் போய், அவர் செவிகளில் ஏறிற்று. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

7 அப்பொழுது பூமி அசைந்து அதிர்ந்தது, அவர் கோபங்கொண்டபடியால் பர்வதங்களின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் குலுங்கி அசைந்தது. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8 அவர் நாசியிலிருந்து புகை எழும்பிற்று, அவர் வாயிலிருந்து பட்சிக்கிற அக்கினி புறப்பட்டது; அதனால் தழல் மூண்டது. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9 வானங்களைத் தாழ்த்தி இறங்கினார்; அவர் பாதங்களின்கீழ் காரிருள் இருந்தது. He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10 கேருபீன்மேல் ஏறி வேகமாய்ச் சென்றார்; காற்றின் செட்டைகளைக்கொண்டு பறந்தார். And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11 இருளைத் தமக்கு மறைவிடமாக்கினார்; கரும்புனல்களையும், ஆகாயத்துக் கார்மேகங்களையும் தம்மைச் சூழக் கூடாரமாக்கினார். He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 அவருடைய சந்நிதிப் பிரகாசத்தினால் அவருடைய மேகங்கள் பறந்து விலகிற்று, கல்மழையும் நெருப்புத்தழலும் விழுந்தது. At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 கர்த்தர் வானங்களிலே குமுறினார், உன்னதமானவர் தமது சத்தத்தைத் தொனிக்கப்பண்ணினார்; கல்மழையும் நெருப்புத்தழலும் விழுந்தது. The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 தம்முடைய அம்புகளை எய்து, அவர்களைச் சிதறடித்தார்; மின்னல்களைப் பிரயோகித்து, அவர்களைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணினார். Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தாவே, உம்முடைய கண்டிதத்தினாலும் உம்முடைய நாசியின் சுவாசக்காற்றினாலும் தண்ணீர்களின் மதகுகள் திறவுண்டு, பூதலத்தின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் காணப்பட்டது. Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 உயரத்திலிருந்து அவர் கைநீட்ߠο, என்னைப் பிடித்Ġρ ஜலப்பிரவாகΤ்திலிருக்கிற ΠΩ்னைத் தூக்கிՠοட்டார். He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 என்னிலும் அதிக பலவான்களޠίிருந்த என் பலத்த சத்துருவுக்கும் என்னைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் என்னை விடுவித்தார். He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

18 என் ஆபத்துநாளில் எனக்கு எதிரிட்டு வந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தர் எனக்கு ஆதரவாயிருந்தார். They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

19 அவர் விசாலமான இடத்திலே என்னைக் கொண்டுவந்து, என்மேல் பிரியமாயிருந்தபடியால், என்னைத் தப்புவித்தார். He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

20 கர்த்தர் என் நீதிக்குத்தக்கதாக எனக்குப் பதிலளித்தார்; என் கைகளின் சுத்தத்திற்குத்தக்கதாக எனக்குச் சரிக்கட்டினார். The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

21 கர்த்தருடைய வழிகளைக் கைக்கொண்டுவந்தேன்; நான் என் தேவனுக்குத் துரோகம்பண்ணினதில்லை. For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

22 அவருடைய நியாயங்களையெல்லாம் எனக்கு முன்பாக நிறுத்தினேன்; அவருடைய பிரமாணங்களை நான் தள்ளிப்போடவில்லை. For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

23 அவர் முன்பாக நான் மனவுண்மையாயிருந்து, என் துர்க்குணத்துக்கு என்னை விலக்கிக் காத்துக்கொண்டேன். I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

24 ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் என் நீதிக்கும், தம்முடைய கண்களுக்கு முன்னிருக்கிற என் கைகளின் சுத்தத்திற்கும் தக்கதாக எனக்குப் பலனளித்தார். Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

25 தயவுள்ளவனுக்கு நீர் தயவுள்ளவராகவும், உத்தமனுக்கு நீர் உத்தமராகவும்; With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

26 புனிதனுக்கு நீர் புனிதராகவும், மாறுபாடுள்ளவனுக்கு நீர் மாறுபடுகிறவராகவும் தோன்றுவீர். With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

27 தேவரீர் சிறுமைப்பட்ட ஜனத்தை இரட்சிப்பீர்; மேட்டிமையான கண்களைத் தாழ்த்துவீர். For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

28 தேவரீர் என் விளக்கை ஏற்றுவீர்; என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என் இருளை வெளிச்சமாக்குவார். For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

29 உம்மாலே நான் ஒரு சேனைக்குள் பாய்ந்துபோவேன்; என் தேவனாலே ஒரு மதிலைத் தாண்டுவேன். For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

30 தேவனுடைய வழி உத்தமமானது: கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் புடமிடப்பட்டது; தம்மை நம்புகிற அனைவருக்கும் அவர் கேடகமாயிருக்கிறார். As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

31 கர்த்தரேயல்லாமல் தேவன் யார்? நம்முடைய தேவனையன்றிக் கன்மலையும் யார்? For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

32 என்னைப் பலத்தால் இடைகட்டி, என் வழியைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்துகிறவர் தேவனே. It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

33 அவர் என் கால்களை மான்களுடைய கால்களைப்போலாக்கி, என்னுடைய உயர்தலங்களில் என்னை நிறுத்துகிறார். He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

34 வெண்கல வில்லும் என் புயங்களால் வளையும்படி, என் கைகளை யுத்தத்திற்குப் பழக்குவிக்கிறார். He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

35 உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பின் கேடகத்தையும் எனக்குத் தந்தீர்; உம்முடைய வலதுகரம் என்னைத் தாங்குகிறது, உம்முடைய காருணியம் என்னைப் பெரியவனாக்கும். Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

36 என் கால்கள் வழுவாதபடிக்கு, நான் நடக்கிற வழியை அகலமாக்கினீர். Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

37 என் சத்துருக்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து அவர்களைப் பிடிப்பேன்; அவர்களை நிர்மூலமாக்கும் வரைக்கும் திரும்பேன். I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

38 அவர்கள் எழுந்திருக்கமாட்டாதபடிக்கு, என் பாதங்களின்கீழ் விழத்தக்கதாக அவர்களை வெட்டினேன். I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

39 யுத்தத்திற்கு நீர் என்னைப் பலத்தால் இடைகட்டி என்மேல் எழும்பினவர்களை என் கீழ் மடங்கப்பண்ணினீர். For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

40 நான் என் பகைஞரைச் சங்கரிக்கும்படியாக, என் சத்துருக்களின் பிடரியை எனக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தீர். Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

41 அவர்கள் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள், அவர்களை இரட்சிப்பார் ஒருவருமில்லை; கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறார்கள், அவர்களுக்கு அவர் உத்தரவு கொடுக்கிறதில்லை. They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

42 நான் அவர்களைக் காற்று முகத்திலே பறக்கிற தூளாக இடித்து, தெருக்களிலுள்ள சேற்றைப்போல் அவர்களை எறிந்துபோடுகிறேன். Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

43 ஜனங்களின் சண்டைகளுக்கு நீர் என்னைத் தப்புவித்து, ஜாதிகளுக்கு என்னைத் தலைவனாக்குகிறீர்; நான் அறியாத ஜனங்கள் என்னைச் சேவிக்கிறார்கள். Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

44 அவர்கள் என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டவுடனே எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறார்கள்; அந்நியரும் எனக்கு இச்சகம்பேசி அடங்குகிறார்கள். As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

45 அந்நியர் முனைவிழுந்துபோய், தங்கள் அரண்களிலிருந்து தத்தளிப்பாய்ப் புறப்படுகிறார்கள். The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

46 கர்த்தர் ஜீவனுள்ளவர்; என் கன்மலையானவர் துதிக்கப்படுவாராக; என் இரட்சிப்பின் தேவன் உயர்ந்திருப்பாராக. The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

47 அவர் எனக்காகப் பழிக்குப் பழிவாங்கி ஜனங்களை எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்துகிற தேவனானவர். It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.

48 அவரே என் சத்துருக்களுக்கு என்னை விலக்கி விடுவிக்கிறவர்; எனக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்கள்மேல் என்னை நீர் உயர்த்தி கொடுமையான மனுஷனுக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவிக்கிறீர். He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

49 இதினிமித்தம் கர்த்தாவே, ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உம்மைத் துதித்து, உம்முடைய நாமத்திற்குச் சங்கீதம் பாடுவேன். Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto thy name.

50 தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின ராஜாவுக்கு மகத்தான இரட்சிப்பை அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணின தாவீதுக்கும் அவன் சந்ததிக்கும் சதாகாலமும் கிருபை செய்கிறார். Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

1 En pelanaakiya karththaavae, ummil anpukooruvaen. I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.

2 Karththar en kanmalaiyum, en kottaைyum, en iratchakarum, en thaevanum naan nampiyirukkira en thurukamum, en kaedakamum, en iratchanniyak kompum, en uyarntha ataikkalamumaayirukkiraar. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

3 Thuthikkup paaththiraraakiya karththarai Nnokkik kooppiduvaen; athanaal en saththurukkalukku neengalaakki iratchikkappaduvaen. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

4 Maranakkattukal ennaich suttikkonndathu; thurchchanappiravaakam ennaip payappaduththinathu. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

5 Paathaalakkattukal ennaich soolnthukonndathu; maranakkannnnikal enmael vilunthathu. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

6 Enakku unndaana nerukkaththilae karththarai Nnokkik kooppittu, en thaevanai Nnokki apayamittaேn; thamathu aalayaththilirunthu en saththaththaik kaettar, en kooppiduthal avar sannithiyil poy, avar sevikalil aerittaு. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

7 Appoluthu poomi asainthu athirnthathu, avar kopangaொnndapatiyaal parvathangalin asthipaarangal kulungi asainthathu. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

8 Avar naasiyilirunthu pukai elumpittaு, avar vaayilirunthu patchikkira akkini purappattathu; athanaal thalal moonndathu. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9 Vaanangalaith thaalththi iranginaar; avar paathangalingeel kaarirul irunthathu. He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10 Kaerupeenmael aeri vaekamaaych sentar; kaattin settaைkalaikkonndu paranthaar. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11 Irulaith thamakku maraividamaakkinaar; karumpunalkalaiyum, aakaayaththuk kaarmaekangalaiyum thammaich soolak koodaaramaakkinaar. He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 Avarutaiya sannithip pirakaasaththinaal avarutaiya maekangal paranthu vilakittaு, kalmalaiyum neruppuththalalum vilunthathu. At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 Karththar vaanangalilae kumurinaar, unnathamaanavar thamathu saththaththaith thonikkappannnninaar; kalmalaiyum neruppuththalalum vilunthathu. The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 Thammutaiya ampukalai eythu, avarkalaich sitharatiththaar; minnalkalaip pirayokiththu, avarkalaik kalangappannnninaar. Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15 Appoluthu karththaavae, ummutaiya kanntithaththinaalum ummutaiya naasiyin suvaasakkaattinaalum thannnneerkalin mathakukal thiravunndu, poothalaththin asthipaarangal kaanappattathu. Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 Uyaraththilirunthu avar kaineetߠο, ennaip pitithĠρ jalappiravaakaΤ்thilirukkira ΠΩ்naith thookkiՠοttar. He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 Ennilum athika palavaankalaޠίிruntha en palaththa saththuruvukkum ennaip pakaikkiravarkalukkum ennai viduviththaar. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

18 En aapaththunaalil enakku ethirittu vanthaarkal; Karththar enakku aatharavaayirunthaar. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

19 Avar visaalamaana idaththilae ennaik konnduvanthu, enmael piriyamaayirunthapatiyaal, ennaith thappuviththaar. He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

20 Karththar en neethikkuththakkathaaka enakkup pathilaliththaar; en kaikalin suththaththirkuththakkathaaka enakkuch sarikkattinaar. The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

21 Karththarutaiya valikalaik kaikkonnduvanthaen; naan en thaevanukkuth thurokampannnninathillai. For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

22 Avarutaiya niyaayangalaiyellaam enakku munpaaka niraுththinaen; avarutaiya piramaanangalai naan thallippodavillai. For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me.

23 Avar munpaaka naan manavunnmaiyaayirunthu, en thurkkunaththukku ennai vilakkik kaaththukkonntaen. I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.

24 Aakaiyaal Karththar en neethikkum, thammutaiya kannkalukku munnirukkira en kaikalin suththaththirkum thakkathaaka enakkup palanaliththaar. Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

25 Thayavullavanukku neer thayavullavaraakavum, uththamanukku neer uththamaraakavum; With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright;

26 Punithanukku neer punitharaakavum, maaraுpaadullavanukku neer maaraுpadukiravaraakavum thontuveer. With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward.

27 Thaevareer siraுmaippatta janaththai iratchippeer; maettimaiyaana kannkalaith thaalththuveer. For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks.

28 Thaevareer en vilakkai aettaுveer; en thaevanaakiya Karththar en irulai velichchamaakkuvaar. For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

29 Ummaalae naan oru senaikkul paaynthupovaen; en thaevanaalae oru mathilaith thaannduvaen. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

30 Thaevanutaiya vali uththamamaanathu: karththarutaiya vasanam pudamidappattathu; thammai nampukira anaivarukkum avar kaedakamaayirukkiraar. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

31 Karththaraeyallaamal Dhevan yaar? Nammutaiya thaevanaiyantik kanmalaiyum yaar? For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

32 Ennaip palaththaal itaikatti, en valiyaich sevvaippaduththukiravar thaevanae. It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

33 Avar en kaalkalai maankalutaiya kaalkalaippolaakki, ennutaiya uyarthalangalil ennai niraுththukiraar. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

34 Vennkala villum en puyangalaal valaiyumpati, en kaikalai yuththaththirkup palakkuvikkiraar. He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

35 Ummutaiya iratchippin kaedakaththaiyum enakkuth thantheer; ummutaiya valathukaram ennaith thaangukirathu, ummutaiya kaarunniyam ennaip periyavanaakkum. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

36 En kaalkal valuvaathapatikku, naan nadakkira valiyai akalamaakkineer. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

37 En saththurukkalaip pinthodarnthu avarkalaip pitippaen; avarkalai nirmoolamaakkum varaikkum thirumpaen. I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

38 Avarkal elunthirukkamaattathapatikku, en paathangalingeel vilaththakkathaaka avarkalai vettinaen. I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

39 Yuththaththirku neer ennaip palaththaal itaikatti enmael elumpinavarkalai en geel madangappannnnineer. For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

40 Naan en pakainjaraich sangarikkumpatiyaaka, en saththurukkalin pidariyai enakku oppukkoduththeer. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.

41 Avarkal kooppidukiraarkal, avarkalai iratchippaar oruvarumillai; karththarai Nnokkik kooppidukiraarkal, avarkalukku avar uththaravu kodukkirathillai. They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

42 Naan avarkalaik kaattaு mukaththilae parakkira thoolaaka itiththu, therukkalilulla settaைppol avarkalai erinthupodukiraேn. Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

43 Janangalin sanntaikalukku neer ennaith thappuviththu, jaathikalukku ennaith thalaivanaakkukireer; naan ariyaatha janangal ennaich sevikkiraarkal. Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.

44 Avarkal en saththaththaik kaettavudanae enakkuk geelppatikiraarkal; anniyarum enakku ichchakampaesi adangukiraarkal. As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.

45 Anniyar munaivilunthupoy, thangal arannkalilirunthu thaththalippaayp purappadukiraarkal. The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

46 Karththar jeevanullavar; en kanmalaiyaanavar thuthikkappaduvaaraaka; en iratchippin Dhevan uyarnthiruppaaraaka. The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

47 Avar enakkaakap palikkup palivaangi janangalai enakkuk geelppaduththukira thaevanaanavar. It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me.
