Genesis 41 in Tamil

1 இரண்டு வருஷம் சென்றபின்பு, பார்வோன் ஒரு சொப்பனம் கண்டான்; அது என்னவென்றால், அவன் நதியண்டையிலே நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தான். And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

2 அப்பொழுது அழகும் புஷ்டியுமான ஏழு பசுக்கள் நதியிலிருந்து ஏறிவந்து புல் மேய்ந்தது. And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favored kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.

3 அவைகளின்பின் அவலட்சணமும் கேவலமுமான வேறே ஏழு பசுக்கள் நதியிலிருந்து ஏறிவந்து, நதி ஓரத்தில் மற்றப் பசுக்களண்டையிலே நின்றது. And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favored and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.

4 அவலட்சணமும் கேவலமுமான பசுக்கள் அழகும் புஷ்டியுமான ஏழு பசுக்களையும் பட்சித்துப்போட்டது; இப்படிப் பார்வோன் கண்டு விழித்துக்கொண்டான். And the ill favored and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favored and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.

5 மறுபடியும் அவன் நித்திரை செய்து, இரண்டாம்விசை ஒரு சொப்பனம் கண்டான்; நல்ல செழுமையான ஏழு கதிர்கள் ஒரே தாளிலிருந்து ஓங்கி வளர்ந்தது. And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

6 பின்பு, சாவியானதும் கீழ்க்காற்றினால் தீய்ந்ததுமான ஏழு கதிர்கள் முளைத்தது. And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.

7 சாவியான கதிர்கள் செழுமையும் நிறைமேனியுமான அந்த ஏழு கதிர்களையும் விழுங்கிப்போட்டது; அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் விழித்துக்கொண்டு, அது சொப்பனம் என்று அறிந்தான். And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.

8 காலமே பார்வோனுடைய மனம் கலக்கங்கொண்டிருந்தது; அப்பொழுது அவன் எகிப்திலுள்ள சகல மந்திரவாதிகளையும் சகல சாஸ்திரிகளையும் அழைப்பித்து, அவர்களுக்குத் தன் சொப்பனத்தைச் சொன்னான்; ஒருவராலும் அதின் அர்த்தத்தைப் பார்வோனுக்குச் சொல்லக் கூடாமற்போயிற்று. And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

9 அப்பொழுது பானபாத்திரக்காரரின் தலைவன் பார்வோனை நோக்கி: நான் செய்த குற்றம் இன்றுதான் என் நினைவில் வந்தது. Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

10 பார்வோன் தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரர்மேல் கடுங்கோபங்கொண்டு, என்னையும் சுயம்பாகிகளின் தலைவனையும் தலையாரிகளின் அதிபதி வீடாகிய சிறைச்சாலையிலே வைத்திருந்த காலத்தில், Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker:

11 நானும் அவனும் ஒரே ராத்திரியிலே வெவ்வேறு பொருள்கொண்ட சொப்பனம் கண்டோம். And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

12 அப்பொழுது தலையாரிகளின் அதிபதிக்கு வேலைக்காரனாகிய எபிரெய பிள்ளையாண்டான் ஒருவன் அங்கே எங்களோடே இருந்தான்; அவனிடத்தில் அவைகளைச் சொன்னோம், அவன் நாங்கள் கண்ட சொப்பனங்களுக்குரிய வெவ்வேறு அர்த்தத்தின்படியே எங்கள் சொப்பனத்தின் பயனைச் சொன்னான். And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.

13 அவன் எங்களுக்குச் சொல்லிய அர்த்தத்தின்படியே நடந்தது; என்னைத் திரும்ப என் நிலையிலே நிறுத்தி, அவனைத் தூக்கிப்போடுவித்தார் என்றான். And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

14 அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் யோசேப்பை அழைப்பித்தான்; அவனைத் தீவிரமாய்க் காவல்கிடங்கிலிருந்து கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். அவன் சவரம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, வேறு வஸ்திரம் தரித்து, பார்வோனிடத்தில் வந்தான். Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

15 பார்வோன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: ஒரு சொப்பனம் கண்டேன்; அதின் அர்த்தத்தைச் சொல்ல ஒருவரும் இல்லை; நீ ஒரு சொப்பனத்தைக் கேட்டால், அதின் அர்த்தத்தைச் சொல்லுவாய் என்று உன்னைக்குறித்து நான் கேள்விப்பட்டேன் என்றான். And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.

16 அப்பொழுது யோசேப்பு பார்வோனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் அல்ல, தேவனே பார்வோனுக்கு மங்களமான உத்தரவு அருளிச் செய்வார் என்றான். And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

17 பார்வோன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: என் சொப்பனத்திலே, நான் நதியோரத்தில் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தேன். And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:

18 அழகும் புஷ்டியுமான ஏழு பசுக்கள் நதியிலிருந்து ஏறி வந்து புல்மேய்ந்தது. And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favored; and they fed in a meadow:

19 அவைகளின்பின் இளைத்ததும் மகா அவலட்சணமும் கேவலமுமான வேறே ஏழு பசுக்கள் ஏறிவந்தது; இவைகளைப் போல அவலட்சணமான பசுக்களை எகிப்து தேசமெங்கும் நான் கண்டதில்லை. And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favored and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:

20 கேவலமும் அவலட்சணமுமான பசுக்கள் கொழுமையான முந்தின ஏழு பசுக்களையும் பட்சித்துப் போட்டது. And the lean and the ill favored kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:

21 அவைகள் இவைகளின் வயிற்றுக்குள் போயும், வயிற்றுக்குள் போயிற்றென்று தோன்றாமல், முன் இருந்தது போலவே அவலட்சணமாயிருந்தது; இப்படிக் கண்டு விழித்துக்கொண்டேன். And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favored, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

22 பின்னும் நான் என் சொப்பனத்திலே, நிறைமேனியுள்ள ஏழு நல்ல கதிர்கள் ஒரே தாழிலிருந்து ஓங்கி வளரக்கண்டேன். And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:

23 பின்பு சாவியானவைகளும் கீழ்காற்றினால் தீய்ந்து பதரானவைகளுமான ஏழு கதிர்கள் முளைத்தது. And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:

24 சாவியான கதிர்கள் அந்த ஏழு நல்ல கதிர்களையும் விழுங்கிப்போட்டது. இதை மந்திரவாதிகளிடத்தில் சொன்னேன்; இதின் பொருளை எனக்கு விடுவிக்கிறவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை என்றான். And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.

25 அப்பொழுது யோசேப்பு பார்வோனை நோக்கி: பார்வோனின் சொப்பனம் ஒன்றுதான்; தேவன் தாம் செய்யப்போகிறது இன்னதென்று பார்வோனுக்கு அறிவித்திருக்கிறார். And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath showed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

26 அந்த ஏழு நல்ல பசுக்களும் ஏழு வருஷமாம்; அந்த ஏழு நல்ல கதிர்களும் ஏழு வருஷமாம்; சொப்பனம் ஒன்றே. The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

27 அவைகளின் பின் ஏறிவந்த கேவலமும் அவலட்சணமுமான ஏழு பசுக்களும் ஏழு வருஷமாம்; கீழ்காற்றினால் தீய்ந்து சாவியான ஏழு கதிர்களும் ஏழு வருஷமாம்; இவைகள் பஞ்சமுள்ள ஏழு வருஷமாம். And the seven thin and ill favored kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

28 பார்வோனுக்கு நான் சொல்லவேண்டிய காரியம் இதுவே; தேவன் தாம் செய்யப்போகிறதைப் பார்வோனுக்குக் காண்பித்திருக்கிறார். This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he showeth unto Pharaoh.

29 எகிப்து தேசமெங்கும் பரிபூரணமான விளைவு உண்டாயிருக்கும் ஏழு வருஷம் வரும். Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

30 அதன்பின் பஞ்சமுண்டாயிருக்கும் ஏழு வருஷம் வரும்; அப்பொழுது எகிப்து தேசத்தில் அந்தப் பரிபூரணமெல்லாம் மறக்கப்பட்டுப்போம்; அந்தப் பஞ்சம் தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்கும். And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

31 வரப்போகிற மகா கொடுமையான பஞ்சத்தால் தேசத்தில் முன்னிருந்த பரிபூரணமெல்லாம் ஒழிந்துபோம். And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

32 இந்தக் காரியம் தேவனால் நிச்சயப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்பதையும், தேவன் இதைச் சீக்கிரத்தில் செய்வார் என்பதையும் குறிக்கும்பொருட்டு, இந்தச் சொப்பனம் பார்வோனுக்கு இரட்டித்தது. And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

33 ஆகையால் விவேகமும் ஞானமுமுள்ள ஒரு மனுஷனைத் தேடி, அவனை எகிப்து தேசத்துக்கு அதிகாரியாகப் பார்வோன் ஏற்படுத்துவாராக. Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

34 இப்படிப் பார்வோன் செய்து, தேசத்தின்மேல் விசாரணைக்காரரை வைத்து, பரிபூரணமுள்ள ஏழு வருஷங்களில் எகிப்து தேசத்திலே விளையும் விளைச்சலில் ஐந்தில் ஒரு பங்கை வாங்கும்படி செய்வாராக. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.

35 அவர்கள் வரப்போகிற நல்ல வருஷங்களில் விளையும் தானியங்களையெல்லாம் சேர்த்து, பட்டணங்களில் ஆகாரம் உண்டாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, பார்வோனுடைய அதிகாரத்துக்குள்ளாகத் தானியங்களைப் பத்திரப்படுத்தி வைத்துவைப்பார்களாக. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

36 தேசம் பஞ்சத்தினால் அழிந்து போகாதபடிக்கு, அந்தத் தானியம் இனி எகிப்து தேசத்தில் உண்டாகும் பஞ்சமுள்ள ஏழு வருஷங்களுக்காக தேசத்திற்கு ஒரு வைப்பாயிருப்பதாக என்றான். And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

37 இந்த வார்த்தை பார்வோனுடைய பார்வைக்கும் அவன் எல்லாருடைய பார்வைக்கும் நன்றாய்க் கண்டது. And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

38 அப்பொழுது பார்வோன் தன் ஊழியக்காரரை நோக்கி: தேவ ஆவியைப் பெற்ற இந்த மனுஷனைப்போல வேறொருவன் உண்டோ என்றான். And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39 பின்பு, பார்வோன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: தேவன் இவையெல்லாவற்றையும் உனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறபடியால், உன்னைப்போல விவேகமும் ஞானமுமுள்ளவன் வேறொருவனும் இல்லை. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40 நீ என் அரமனைக்கு அதிகாரியாயிருப்பாய்; உன் வாக்கின்படியே என் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் அடங்கி நடக்கக் கடவர்கள்; சிங்காசனத்தில் மாத்திரம் உன்னிலும் நான் பெரியவனாய் இருப்பேன் என்றான். Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41 பின்னும் பார்வோன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: பார், எகிப்து தேசம் முழுமைக்கும் உன்னை அதிகாரியாக்கினேன் என்று சொல்லி, And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 பார்வோன் தன் கையில் போட்டிருந்த தன் முத்திரை மோதிரத்தைக் கழற்றி, அதை யோசேப்பின் கையிலே போட்டு, மெல்லிய வஸ்திரங்களை, அவனுக்கு உடுத்தி, பொன் சரப்பணியை அவன் கழுத்திலே தரித்து, And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

43 தன்னுடைய இரண்டாம் இரதத்தின்மேல் அவனை ஏற்றி, தெண்டனிட்டுப் பணியுங்கள் என்று அவனுக்கு முன்பாகக் கூறுவித்து, எகிப்துதேசம் முழுமைக்கும் அவனை அதிகாரியாக்கினான். And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

44 பின்னும் பார்வோன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: நான் பார்வோன்; ஆனாலும் எகிப்து தேசத்திலுள்ளவர்களில் ஒருவனும் உன் உத்தரவில்லாமல் தன் கையையாவது தன் காலையாவது அசைக்கக் கூடாது என்றான். And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

45 மேலும், பார்வோன் யோசேப்புக்கு சாப்நாத்பன்னேயா என்கிற பெயரையிட்டு; ஓன்பட்டணத்து ஆசாரியனாகிய போத்திபிராவின் குமாரத்தியாகிய ஆஸ்நாத்தை அவனுக்கு மனைவியாகக் கொடுத்தான். யோசேப்பு எகிப்து தேசத்தைச் சுற்றிப்பார்க்கும்படி புறப்பட்டான். And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

46 யோசேப்பு எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோனுக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கும்போது முப்பது வயதாயிருந்தான்; யோசேப்பு பார்வோனுடைய சந்நிதியிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, எகிப்துதேசம் எங்கும் போய்ச் சுற்றிப்பார்த்தான். And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

47 பரிபூரணமுள்ள ஏழு வருஷங்களிலும் பூமி மிகுதியான பலனைக் கொடுத்தது. And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

48 அவ்வேழு வருஷங்களில் எகிப்து தேசத்தில் விளைந்த தானியங்களையெல்லாம் அவன் சேர்த்து, அந்தத் தானியங்களைப் பட்டணங்களில் கட்டிவைத்தான்; அந்தந்தப் பட்டணத்தில் அதினதின் சுற்றுப்புறத்துத் தானியங்களைக் கட்டிவைத்தான். And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

49 இப்படி யோசேப்பு அளவிறந்ததாய்க் கடற்கரை மணலைப் போல மிகுதியாகத் தானியத்தைச் சேர்த்துவைத்தான்; அது அளவுக்கு அடங்காததாயிருந்தது. And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.

50 பஞ்சமுள்ள வருஷங்கள் வருவதற்கு முன்னே யோசேப்புக்கு இரண்டு குமாரர்கள் பிறந்தார்கள்; அவர்களை ஓன் பட்டணத்து ஆசாரியனாகிய போத்திபிராவின் குமாரத்தியாகிய ஆஸ்நாத்து அவனுக்குப் பெற்றாள். And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

51 யோசேப்பு: என் வருத்தம் யாவையும் என் தகப்பனுடைய குடும்பம் அனைத்தையும் நான் மறக்கும்படி தேவன் பண்ணினார் என்று சொல்லி, மூத்தவனுக்கு மனாசே என்று பேரிட்டான். And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

52 நான் சிறுமைப்பட்டிருந்த தேசத்தில் தேவன் என்னைப் பலுகப்பண்ணினார் என்று சொல்லி இளையவனுக்கு எப்பிராயீம் என்று பேரிட்டான். And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

53 எகிப்துதேசத்தில் வந்த பரிபூரணமுள்ள ஏழு வருஷங்களும் முடிந்தபின், And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.

54 யோசேப்பு சொல்லியபடி ஏழு வருஷ பஞ்சம் தொடங்கினது; சகல தேசங்களிலும் பஞ்சம் உண்டாயிற்று; ஆனாலும் எகிப்துதேசமெங்கும் ஆகாரம் இருந்தது. And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

55 எகிப்துதேசமெங்கும் பஞ்சம் உண்டானபோது, ஜனங்கள் உணவுக்காகப் பார்வோனை நோக்கி: ஓலமிட்டார்கள்; அதற்குப் பார்வோன்: நீங்கள் யோசேப்பினிடத்துக்குப் போய், அவன் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறபடி செய்யுங்கள் என்று எகிப்தியர் எல்லாருக்கும் சொன்னான். And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.

56 தேசமெங்கும் பஞ்சம் உண்டானபடியால், யோசேப்பு களஞ்சியங்களையெல்லாம் திறந்து, எகிப்தியருக்கு விற்றான்; பஞ்சம் எகிப்து தேசத்தில் வரவரக் கொடிதாயிற்று. And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

57 சகல தேசங்களிலும் பஞ்சம் கொடிதாயிருந்தபடியால், சகல தேசத்தார்களும் யோசேப்பினிடத்தில் தானியம் கொள்ளும்படி எகிப்துக்கு வந்தார்கள். And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

1 Iranndu varusham sentapinpu, paarvon oru soppanam kanndaan; athu ennavental, avan nathiyanntaiyilae nintukonntirunthaan. And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.

2 Appoluthu alakum pushtiyumaana aelu pasukkal nathiyilirunthu aerivanthu pul maeynthathu. And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favored kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow.

3 Avaikalinpin avalatchanamum kaevalamumaana vaeraே aelu pasukkal nathiyilirunthu aerivanthu, nathi oraththil mattap pasukkalanntaiyilae nintathu. And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favored and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river.

4 Avalatchanamum kaevalamumaana pasukkal alakum pushtiyumaana aelu pasukkalaiyum patchiththuppottathu; ippatip paarvon kanndu viliththukkonndaan. And the ill favored and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favored and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke.

5 Maraுpatiyum avan niththirai seythu, iranndaamvisai oru soppanam kanndaan; nalla selumaiyaana aelu kathirkal orae thaalilirunthu ongi valarnthathu. And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

6 Pinpu, saaviyaanathum geelkkaattinaal theeynthathumaana aelu kathirkal mulaiththathu. And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them.

7 Saaviyaana kathirkal selumaiyum niraimaeniyumaana antha aelu kathirkalaiyum vilungippottathu; appoluthu paarvon viliththukkonndu, athu soppanam entu arinthaan. And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream.

8 Kaalamae paarvonutaiya manam kalakkangaொnntirunthathu; appoluthu avan ekipthilulla sakala manthiravaathikalaiyum sakala saasthirikalaiyum alaippiththu, avarkalukkuth than soppanaththaich sonnaan; oruvaraalum athin arththaththaip paarvonukkuch sollak koodaamarpoyittaு. And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

9 Appoluthu paanapaaththirakkaararin thalaivan paarvonai Nnokki: naan seytha kuttam intuthaan en ninaivil vanthathu. Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day:

10 Paarvon thammutaiya ooliyakkaararmael kadungaோpangaொnndu, ennaiyum suyampaakikalin thalaivanaiyum thalaiyaarikalin athipathi veedaakiya siraichchaாlaiyilae vaiththiruntha kaalaththil, Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard's house, both me and the chief baker:

11 Naanum avanum orae raaththiriyilae vevvaeraு porulkonnda soppanam kanntoom. And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.

12 Appoluthu thalaiyaarikalin athipathikku vaelaikkaaranaakiya epireya pillaiyaanndaan oruvan angae engalotae irunthaan; avanidaththil avaikalaich sonnom, avan naangal kannda soppanangalukkuriya vevvaeraு arththaththinpatiyae engal soppanaththin payanaich sonnaan. And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret.

13 Avan engalukkuch solliya arththaththinpatiyae nadanthathu; ennaith thirumpa en nilaiyilae niraுththi, avanaith thookkippoduviththaar entan. And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

14 Appoluthu paarvon yoseppai alaippiththaan; avanaith theeviramaayk kaavalkidangilirunthu konnduvanthaarkal. Avan savarampannnnikkonndu, vaeraு vasthiram thariththu, paarvonidaththil vanthaan. Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

15 Paarvon yoseppai Nnokki: oru soppanam kanntaen; athin arththaththaich solla oruvarum illai; nee oru soppanaththaik kaettal, athin arththaththaich solluvaay entu unnaikkuriththu naan kaelvippattaேn entan. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it.

16 Appoluthu yoseppu paarvonukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: naan alla, thaevanae paarvonukku mangalamaana uththaravu arulich seyvaar entan. And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

17 Paarvon yoseppai Nnokki: en soppanaththilae, naan nathiyoraththil nintukonntirunthaen. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river:

18 Alakum pushtiyumaana aelu pasukkal nathiyilirunthu aeri vanthu pulmaeynthathu. And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favored; and they fed in a meadow:

19 Avaikalinpin ilaiththathum makaa avalatchanamum kaevalamumaana vaeraே aelu pasukkal aerivanthathu; ivaikalaip pola avalatchanamaana pasukkalai ekipthu thaesamengum naan kanndathillai. And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favored and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness:

20 Kaevalamum avalatchanamumaana pasukkal kolumaiyaana munthina aelu pasukkalaiyum patchiththup pottathu. And the lean and the ill favored kine did eat up the first seven fat kine:

21 Avaikal ivaikalin vayittaுkkul poyum, vayittaுkkul poyittentu thontamal, mun irunthathu polavae avalatchanamaayirunthathu; ippatik kanndu viliththukkonntaen. And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favored, as at the beginning. So I awoke.

22 Pinnum naan en soppanaththilae, niraimaeniyulla aelu nalla kathirkal orae thaalilirunthu ongi valarakkanntaen. And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk, full and good:

23 Pinpu saaviyaanavaikalum geelkaattinaal theeynthu patharaanavaikalumaana aelu kathirkal mulaiththathu. And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted with the east wind, sprung up after them:

24 Saaviyaana kathirkal antha aelu nalla kathirkalaiyum vilungippottathu. Ithai manthiravaathikalidaththil sonnaen; ithin porulai enakku viduvikkiravan oruvanum illai entan. And the thin ears devoured the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was none that could declare it to me.

25 Appoluthu yoseppu paarvonai Nnokki: paarvonin soppanam ontuthaan; Dhevan thaam seyyappokirathu innathentu paarvonukku ariviththirukkiraar. And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath showed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

26 Antha aelu nalla pasukkalum aelu varushamaam; antha aelu nalla kathirkalum aelu varushamaam; soppanam onte. The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

27 Avaikalin pin aerivantha kaevalamum avalatchanamumaana aelu pasukkalum aelu varushamaam; geelkaattinaal theeynthu saaviyaana aelu kathirkalum aelu varushamaam; ivaikal panjamulla aelu varushamaam. And the seven thin and ill favored kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

28 Paarvonukku naan sollavaenntiya kaariyam ithuvae; Dhevan thaam seyyappokirathaip paarvonukkuk kaannpiththirukkiraar. This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he showeth unto Pharaoh.

29 Ekipthu thaesamengum paripooranamaana vilaivu unndaayirukkum aelu varusham varum. Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

30 Athanpin panjamunndaayirukkum aelu varusham varum; appoluthu ekipthu thaesaththil anthap paripooranamellaam marakkappattuppom; anthap panjam thaesaththaip paalaakkum. And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

31 Varappokira makaa kodumaiyaana panjaththaal thaesaththil munniruntha paripooranamellaam olinthupom. And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.

32 Inthak kaariyam thaevanaal nichchayappattirukkirathu enpathaiyum, Dhevan ithaich seekkiraththil seyvaar enpathaiyum kurikkumporuttu, inthach soppanam paarvonukku irattiththathu. And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

33 Aakaiyaal vivaekamum njaanamumulla oru manushanaith thaeti, avanai ekipthu thaesaththukku athikaariyaakap paarvon aerpaduththuvaaraaka. Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

34 Ippatip paarvon seythu, thaesaththinmael visaarannaikkaararai vaiththu, paripooranamulla aelu varushangalil ekipthu thaesaththilae vilaiyum vilaichchalil ainthil oru pangai vaangumpati seyvaaraaka. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.

35 Avarkal varappokira nalla varushangalil vilaiyum thaaniyangalaiyellaam serththu, pattanangalil aakaaram unndaayirukkumpatikku, paarvonutaiya athikaaraththukkullaakath thaaniyangalaip paththirappaduththi vaiththuvaippaarkalaaka. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

36 Thaesam panjaththinaal alinthu pokaathapatikku, anthath thaaniyam ini ekipthu thaesaththil unndaakum panjamulla aelu varushangalukkaaka thaesaththirku oru vaippaayiruppathaaka entan. And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.

37 Intha vaarththai paarvonutaiya paarvaikkum avan ellaarutaiya paarvaikkum nantayk kanndathu. And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.

38 Appoluthu paarvon than ooliyakkaararai Nnokki: thaeva aaviyaip petta intha manushanaippola vaeroruvan unntoo entan. And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?

39 Pinpu, paarvon yoseppai Nnokki: Dhevan ivaiyellaavattaைyum unakku velippaduththiyirukkirapatiyaal, unnaippola vivaekamum njaanamumullavan vaeroruvanum illai. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath showed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

40 Nee en aramanaikku athikaariyaayiruppaay; un vaakkinpatiyae en janangal ellaarum adangi nadakkak kadavarkal; singaasanaththil maaththiram unnilum naan periyavanaay iruppaen entan. Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

41 Pinnum paarvon yoseppai Nnokki: paar, ekipthu thaesam mulumaikkum unnai athikaariyaakkinaen entu solli, And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

42 Paarvon than kaiyil pottiruntha than muththirai mothiraththaik kalatti, athai yoseppin kaiyilae pottu, melliya vasthirangalai, avanukku uduththi, pon sarappanniyai avan kaluththilae thariththu, And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

43 Thannutaiya iranndaam irathaththinmael avanai aetti, thenndanittup panniyungal entu avanukku munpaakak kooraுviththu, ekipthuthaesam mulumaikkum avanai athikaariyaakkinaan. And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.

44 Pinnum paarvon yoseppai Nnokki: naan paarvon; aanaalum ekipthu thaesaththilullavarkalil oruvanum un uththaravillaamal than kaiyaiyaavathu than kaalaiyaavathu asaikkak koodaathu entan. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.

45 Maelum, paarvon yoseppukku saapnaathpannaeyaa enkira peyaraiyittu; onpattanaththu aasaariyanaakiya poththipiraavin kumaaraththiyaakiya aasnaaththai avanukku manaiviyaakak koduththaan. Yoseppu ekipthu thaesaththaich suttippaarkkumpati purappattan. And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.

46 Yoseppu ekipthin raajaavaakiya paarvonukku munpaaka nirkumpothu muppathu vayathaayirunthaan; yoseppu paarvonutaiya sannithiyilirunthu purappattu, ekipthuthaesam engum poych suttippaarththaan. And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.

47 Paripooranamulla aelu varushangalilum poomi mikuthiyaana palanaik koduththathu. And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.

48 Avvaelu varushangalil ekipthu thaesaththil vilaintha thaaniyangalaiyellaam avan serththu, anthath thaaniyangalaip pattanangalil kattivaiththaan; anthanthap pattanaththil athinathin suttaுppuraththuth thaaniyangalaik kattivaiththaan. And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.

49 Ippati yoseppu alaviranthathaayk kadarkarai manalaip pola mikuthiyaakath thaaniyaththaich serththuvaiththaan; athu alavukku adangaathathaayirunthathu. And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.

50 Panjamulla varushangal varuvatharku munnae yoseppukku iranndu kumaararkal piranthaarkal; avarkalai on pattanaththu aasaariyanaakiya poththipiraavin kumaaraththiyaakiya aasnaaththu avanukkup pettaாl. And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

51 Yoseppu: en varuththam yaavaiyum en thakappanutaiya kudumpam anaiththaiyum naan marakkumpati Dhevan pannnninaar entu solli, mooththavanukku manaase entu paerittan. And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

52 Naan siraுmaippattiruntha thaesaththil Dhevan ennaip palukappannnninaar entu solli ilaiyavanukku eppiraayeem entu paerittan. And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

53 Ekipthuthaesaththil vantha paripooranamulla aelu varushangalum mutinthapin, And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.

54 Yoseppu solliyapati aelu varusha panjam thodanginathu; sakala thaesangalilum panjam unndaayittaு; aanaalum ekipthuthaesamengum aakaaram irunthathu. And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.

55 Ekipthuthaesamengum panjam unndaanapothu, janangal unavukkaakap paarvonai Nnokki: olamittarkal; atharkup paarvon: neengal yoseppinidaththukkup poy, avan ungalukkuch sollukirapati seyyungal entu ekipthiyar ellaarukkum sonnaan. And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.

56 Thaesamengum panjam unndaanapatiyaal, yoseppu kalanjiyangalaiyellaam thiranthu, ekipthiyarukku vittaாn; panjam ekipthu thaesaththil varavarak kotithaayittaு. And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.

57 Sakala thaesangalilum panjam kotithaayirunthapatiyaal, sakala thaesaththaarkalum yoseppinidaththil thaaniyam kollumpati ekipthukku vanthaarkal. And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.
