அப்பொழுது அவர்: பிள்ளையாண்டான்மேல் உன் கையைப் போடாதே, அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் செய்யாதே; நீ அவனை உன் புத்திரன் என்றும், உன் ஏகசுதன் என்றும் பாராமல் எனக்காக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தபடியினால் நீ தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவன் என்று இப்பொழுது அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

அப்பொழுது அவர்: சிறுவன்மேல் உன் கையைப் போடாதே, அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் செய்யாதே; நீ அவனை உன் மகன் என்றும், உனது ஒரே மகன் என்றும் பார்க்காமல் எனக்காக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்ததால் நீ தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவன் என்று இப்பொழுது தெரிந்துகொண்டேன் என்றார்.

தேவதூதன்: “உனது மகனைக் கொல்ல வேண்டாம். அவனை எவ்விதத்திலும் காயப்படுத்த வேண்டாம். நீ தேவனை மதிப்பவன் என்றும், கீழ்ப்படிபவன் என்பதையும் நான் தெரிந்துகொண்டேன். நீ எனக்காக உன் ஒரே ஒரு மகனையும் கொல்லத் தயாராக உள்ளாய் என்பதையும் தெரிந்துகொண்டேன்” என்றார்.
