2 Samuel 19 in Tamil

1 இதோ, ராஜா அப்சலோமுக்காக அழுது புலம்புகிறார் என்று யோவாபுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.

2 ராஜா தம்முடைய குமாரனுக்காக மனம்நொந்திருக்கிறார் என்று அன்றையதினம் ஜனங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டார்கள்; அதினிமித்தம் அன்றையதினம் அந்தஜெயம் ஜனத்திற்கெல்லம் துக்கமாய் மாறிற்று. And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.

3 யுத்தத்தில் முறிந்தோடுகிறதினால் வெட்கப்பட்டுத் திருட்டளவாய் வருகிவறர்கள்போல, ஜனங்கள் அன்றையதினம் திருட்டளவாய்ப் பட்டணத்திற்குள் வந்தார்கள். And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.

4 ராஜா தன் முகத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டு, மகா சத்தமாய்: என் மகனாகிய அப்சலோமே, அப்சலோமாகிய என் மகனே, என் மகனே என்று அலறிக்கொண்டிருந்தான். But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!

5 அப்பொழுது யோவாப் வீட்டிற்குள்ளே ராஜாவினிடத்தில் போய்: இன்று உம்முடைய ஜீவனையும், உம்முடைய குமாரர் குமாரத்திகளின் ஜீவனையும், உம்முடைய மனைவிகளின் ஜீவனையும், உம்முடைய மறுமனையாட்டிகளின் ஜீவனையும் தப்புவித்த உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரர் எல்லாரின் முகத்தையும் வெட்கப்படுதினீர்; இன்று நீர் உம்மைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களைச் சிநேகித்து, உம்மைச் சிநேகிக்கிறவர்களைப் பகைக்கிறீர் என்று விளங்குகிறது. And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;

6 அதிபதிகளும் சேவகரும் உமக்கு அற்பமானவர்கள் என்று இன்று விளங்கப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; அப்சலோம் உயிரோடிருந்து, நாங்கள் அனைவரும் இன்று செத்துப்போனால், அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய பார்வைக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும் என்று இன்று அறிந்துகொண்டேன். In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.

7 இப்போதும் எழுந்திருந்து வெளியே வந்து, உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரோடே அன்பாய்ப் பேசும்; நீர் வெளியே வராதிருந்தால், இன்று இரவு ஒருவரும் உம்ήோடே தங்கியிருப்பதில்லை என்று கர்த்தர்மேல் ஆணையிடுகிறேன்; அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய சிறுவயது முதல் இதுவரைக்கும் உமக்கு நேரிட்ட எல்லாத் தீமையைப்பார்க்கிலும், அது உமக்கு அதிக தீமையாயிருக்கும் என்றான். Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.

8 அப்பொழுது ராஜா எழுந்துபோய், ஒலிமுகவாசலில் உட்கார்ந்தான்; இதோ, ராஜா ஒலிமுகவாசலில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறார் என்று சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் ராஜாவுக்கு முன்பாக வந்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலரோவெனில் அவரவர் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள். Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

9 இஸ்ரவேலுடைய சகல கோத்திரங்களிலுமுள்ள சகல ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் வாக்குவாதம் உண்டாகி, அவர்கள்: ராஜா நம்முடைய சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கு நம்மை நீங்கலாக்கிவிட்டார், அவர்தானே பெலிஸ்தரின் கைக்கு நம்மைத் தப்புவித்தார்; இப்போதோ அப்சலோமுக்குத் தப்ப, தேசத்தைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார். And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.

10 நமக்கு ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணிவைத்த அப்சலோம் யுத்தத்திலே செத்தான்; இப்போதும் ராஜாவைத்திரும்ப அழைத்து வராமல் நீங்கள் சும்மாயிருப்பானேன் என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள் And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?

11 இப்படி இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும்பேசிகொண்டிருக்கிறது, ராஜா இருக்கிற வீட்டிலே அவருக்குக் கேள்வியானபடியினால், தாவீதுராஜா சாதோக் அபியத்தார் என்னும் ஆசாரியர்களிடத்துக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பி, நீங்கள் மூப்பரோடே பேசி: ராஜாவைத் தம்முடைய வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்ப அழைத்துவர நீங்கள் மற்றவர்களுக்குப் பிந்திப்போவானேன்? And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house.

12 நீங்கள் அவன் சகோதரர், நீங்கள் என் எலும்பும் என் மாம்சமுமானவர்கள்; ராஜாவைத் திரும்ப அழைத்துவர நீங்கள் பிந்தினவர்களாயிருப்பானேன் என்று சொல்லுங்கள். Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?

13 நீங்கள் அமாசாவையும் நோக்கி: நீ என் எலும்பும் என் மாம்சமும் அல்லவோ? நீ யோவாபுக்குப் பதிலாக எந்நாளும் எனக்கு முன்பாகப் படைத்தலைவனாயிராவிட்டால், தேவன் அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் எனக்குச் செய்யக்கடவர் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான். And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.

14 இப்படியே யூதாவின் சகல மனுஷருடைய இருதயத்தையும் ஒரு மனுஷனுடைய இருதயத்தைப்போல் இணங்கப்பண்ணினதினால், அவர்கள் ராஜாவுக்கு: நீர் உம்முடைய எல்லா ஊழியக்காரரோடும் திரும்பிவாரும் என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினார்கள். And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.

15 ராஜா திரும்ப வருகிறதற்கு யோர்தான்மட்டும் வந்தபோது, யூதா கோத்திரத்தார்: ராஜாவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய், ராஜாவை யோர்தானைக் கடக்கப்பண்ண கில்கால்மட்டும் வந்தார்கள். So the king returned, and came to Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to conduct the king over Jordan.

16 பகூரிம் ஊரானான பென்யமீனனாகிய கேராவின் மகன் சீமேயியும் தீவிரித்து, யூதா மனுஷரோடுங்கூடத் தாவீது ராஜாவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோனான். And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.

17 அவனோடே பென்யமீன் மனுஷர் ஆயிரம்பேரும், சவுலின் வீட்டு வேலைக்காரனாகிய சீபாவும், ஆண்டவனுடைய பதினைந்து குமாரரும், அவனுடைய இருபது வேலைக்காரரும் இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் ராஜாவுக்கு முன்பாக யோர்தானை வேகமாய்க் கடந்துபோனார்கள். And there were a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went over Jordan before the king.

18 அவர்கள் ராஜாவின் வீட்டாரை இக்கரைப்படுத்தவும், அவன் விரும்பும் காரியத்துக்கு உதவவும், ஒரு படகு இக்கரையிலே வந்தது; அப்பொழுது கேராவின் குமாரனாகிய சீமேயி யோர்தானைக் கடக்கப்போகிற ராஜாவுக்கு முன்பாகத் தாழவிழுந்து, And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the king's household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;

19 ராஜாவை நோக்கி: என் ஆண்டவன் என் அக்கிரமத்தை என்மேல் சுமத்தாமலும், ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன் எருசலேமிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு வருகிற நாளிலே, உமது அடியான் செய்த துரோகத்தை ராஜா நினைக்காமலும், தமது மனதில் வைக்காமலும் இருப்பாராக. And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.

20 உமது அடியானாகிய நான் பாவஞ்செய்தேன் என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; இப்போதும், இதோ, ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவர, யோசேப்பு வீட்டார் அனைவருக்கும் நான் இன்று முந்திக்கொண்டேன் என்றான். For thy servant doth know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I am come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.

21 அப்பொழுது செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய அபிசாய் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: கர்த்தர் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினவரைச் சீமேயி தூஷித்தபடியினால், அவனை அதற்காகக் கொல்லவேண்டாமா என்றான். But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD's anointed?

22 அதற்குத் தாவீது: செருயாவின் குமாரரே, இன்று நீங்கள் எனக்குச் சத்துருக்களாகிறதற்கு, எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் என்ன? இன்று இஸ்ரவேலில் ஒருவன் கொல்லப்படலாமா? இன்று நான் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவானேன் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியாதா என்று சொல்லி, And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over Israel?

23 ராஜா சீமேயியைப் பார்த்து: நீ சாவதில்லை என்று அவனுக்கு ஆணையிட்டான். Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.

24 சவுலின் குமரனாகிய மேவிபோசேத்தும் ராஜாவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்தான்; ராஜா போனநாள்முதல், அவன் சமாதானத்தோடே திரும்பிவருகிற நாள்மட்டும், அவன் தன் கால்களைச் சுத்தம்பண்ணவுமில்லை, தன் தாடியைச் சவரம்பண்ணவுமில்லை; தன் வஸ்திரங்களை வெளுக்கவுமில்லை. And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.

25 அவன் எருசலேமிலிருந்து ராஜாவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவருகிறபோது, ராஜா அவனைப் பார்த்து: மேவிபோசேத்தே, நீ என்னோடுகூட வராமல்போனது என்ன என்று கேட்டான். And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth?

26 அதற்கு அவன் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனே, என் வேலைக்காரன் என்னை மோசம்போக்கினான்; உமது அடியானாகிய நான் முடவனானபடியினால், ஒரு கழுதையின்மேல் சேணம்வைத்து அதின்மேல் ஏறி, ராஜாவோடேகூடப் போகிறேன் என்று அடியேன் சொன்னேன். And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant is lame.

27 அவன் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் உமது அடியான்மேல் வீண்பழி சொன்னான்; ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனோ தேவனுடைய தூதனைப்போல, உமது பார்வைக்கு நலமாய்த் தோன்றுகிறபடி செய்யும். And he hath slandered thy servant unto my lord the king; but my lord the king is as an angel of God: do therefore what is good in thine eyes.

28 ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனுக்குமுன்பாக என் தகப்பன் வீட்டார் எல்லாம் சவுலுக்கு ஏதுவாயிருந்தார்களே ஒழிய, மற்றப்படி அல்ல; ஆனாலும் உமதுபந்தியிலே சாப்பிடுகிறவர்களோடே உமது அடியேனை வைத்தீர்; இன்னும் நான் ராஜாவிடத்தில் முறையிட, இனி எனக்கு என்ன நியாயம் இருக்கிறது என்றான். For all of my father's house were but dead men before my lord the king: yet didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet to cry any more unto the king?

29 அப்பொழுது ராஜா அவனைப்பார்த்து: உன் காரியத்தைக்குறித்து அதிகமாய்ப் பேசுவானேன்? நீயும் சீபாவும் நிலத்தைப் பங்கிட்டுக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று நான் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான். And the king said unto him, Why speakest thou any more of thy matters? I have said, Thou and Ziba divide the land.

30 அதற்கு மேவிபோசேத் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன் சமாதானத்தோடே தம்முடைய வீட்டிற்கு வந்திருக்கும்போது, அவனே எல்லாவற்றையும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளட்டும் என்றான். And Mephibosheth said unto the king, Yea, let him take all, forasmuch as my lord the king is come again in peace unto his own house.

31 கீலேயாத்தியனாகிய பர்சிலாவும் ரோகிலிமிலிருந்து வந்து, யோர்தான்மட்டும் ராஜாவை வழிவிட்டனுப்ப, அவனோடேகூட யோர்தானின் துறைமட்டும் கடந்துவந்தான். And Barzillai the Gileadite came down from Rogelim, and went over Jordan with the king, to conduct him over Jordan.

32 பர்சிலா எண்பது வயதுசென்ற கிழவனாயிருந்தான்; ராஜா மக்னாயீமிலே தங்கியிருக்குமட்டும் அவனைப் பராமரித்து வந்தான்; அவன் மகா பெரியமனுஷனாயிருந்தான். Now Barzillai was a very aged man, even fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim; for he was a very great man.

33 ராஜா பர்சிலாவை நோக்கி: நீ என்னோடேகூடக் கடந்துவா, எருசலேமிலே உன்னை என்னிடத்தில் வைத்து பராமரிப்பேன் என்றான். And the king said unto Barzillai, Come thou over with me, and I will feed thee with me in Jerusalem.

34 பர்சிலா ராஜாவைப் பார்த்து: நான் ராஜாவோடேகூட எருசலேமுக்கு வர, நான் இன்னும் உயிரோடிருக்கும் ஆயுசின் நாட்கள் எம்மாத்திரம்? And Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live, that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem?

35 இப்பொழுது நான் எண்பது வயதுள்ளவன்; இனி நலமானது இன்னதென்றும் தீதானது இன்னதென்றும் எனக்குத் தெரியுமோ? புசிக்கிறதும் குடிக்கிறதும் உமது அடியேனுக்கு ருசிகரமாயிருக்குமோ? சங்கீதக்காரர் சங்கீதக்காரிகளுடைய சத்தத்தை இனிக் கேட்கக்கூடுமோ? உமது அடியேனாகிய நான் இனி ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனுக்குப் பாரமாயிருக்கவேண்டியது என்ன? I am this day fourscore years old: and can I discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?

36 அடியேன் கொஞ்சதூரம் யோர்தான்மட்டும் ராஜாவோடேகூட வருவேன்; அதற்கு ராஜா இவ்வளவு பெரிய உபகாரத்தை எனக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியது என்ன? Thy servant will go a little way over Jordan with the king: and why should the king recompense it me with such a reward?

37 நான் என் ஊரிலே மரித்து, என் தாய் தகப்பன்மார் கல்லறையிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்படும்படிக்கு, உமது அடியான் திரும்பிப்போகட்டும்; ஆனாலும், இதோ, உமது அடியானாகிய கிம்காம் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனோடேகூட வருவான்; உம்முடைய பார்வைக்கு நலமானபடி அவனுக்குச் செய்யும் என்றான். Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, and be buried by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee.

38 அப்பொழுது ராஜா: கிம்காம் என்னோடேகூட வரட்டும்; உன் பார்வைக்கு நலமானபடியே நான் அவனுக்கு நடப்பித்து, நீ என்னிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொள்வதையெல்லாம் நான் உனக்குச் செய்வேன் என்றான். And the king answered, Chimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto thee: and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, that will I do for thee.

39 ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் யோர்தானைக் கடந்தபோது, ராஜா பர்சிலாவை முத்தமிட்டு அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்து, தானும் கடந்துபோனான்; அவனோ தன்னிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போய்விட்டான். And all the people went over Jordan. And when the king was come over, the king kissed Barzillai, and blessed him; and he returned unto his own place.

40 ராஜா கடந்து, கில்கால்மட்டும் போனான்; கிம்காம் அவனோடேகூடக் கடந்துவந்தான்; யூதா ஜனம் அனைத்தும், இஸ்ரவேலில் பாதிஜனமும், ராஜாவை இக்கரைப்படுத்தி வந்தபின்பு, Then the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him: and all the people of Judah conducted the king, and also half the people of Israel.

41 இதோ, இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷர் எல்லாரும் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, ராஜாவை நோக்கி: எங்கள் சகோதரராகிய யூதாமனுஷர் திருட்டளவாய் உம்மை அழைத்துவந்து, ராஜாவையும், அவர் வீட்டாரையும், அவரோடேகூட இருக்கிற தாவீதின் மனுஷர் அனைவரையும், யோர்தானைக் கடக்கப்பண்ணினது என்ன என்றார்கள். And, behold, all the men of Israel came to the king, and said unto the king, Why have our brethren the men of Judah stolen thee away, and have brought the king, and his household, and all David's men with him, over Jordan?

42 அப்பொழுது யூதா மனுஷர் எல்லாரும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ராஜா எங்களைச் சேர்ந்தவரானபடியினால் இதைச் செய்தோம்; இதற்காக நீங்கள் கோபிப்பானேன்? நாங்கள் ராஜாவின் கையிலே எதையாகிலும் வாங்கித் தின்றோமோ? எங்களுக்கு வெகுமானம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதோ? என்றார்கள். And all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king is near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the king's cost? or hath he given us any gift?

43 இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷரோ யூதா மனுஷருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ராஜாவினிடத்தில் எங்களுக்குப் பத்துப்பங்கு இருக்கிறது; உங்களைப்பார்க்கிலும் எங்களுக்குத் தாவீதினிடத்தில் அதிக உரிமை உண்டு; பின்னை ஏன் எங்களை அற்பமாய் எண்ணினீர்கள்; எங்கள் ராஜாவைத் திரும்ப அழைத்துவரவேண்டும் என்று முந்திச்சொன்னவர்கள் நாங்களல்லவா என்றார்கள்; ஆனாலும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷரின் பேச்சைப்பார்க்கிலும் யூதா மனுஷரின் பேச்சு பலத்தது. And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.

1 Itho, raajaa apsalomukkaaka aluthu pulampukiraar entu yovaapukku arivikkappattathu. And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.

2 Raajaa thammutaiya kumaaranukkaaka manamnonthirukkiraar entu antaiyathinam janangal kaelvippattarkal; athinimiththam antaiyathinam anthajeyam janaththirkellam thukkamaay maarittaு. And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.

3 Yuththaththil murinthodukirathinaal vetkappattuth thiruttalavaay varukivararkalpola, janangal antaiyathinam thiruttalavaayp pattanaththirkul vanthaarkal. And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.

4 Raajaa than mukaththai mootikkonndu, makaa saththamaay: en makanaakiya apsalomae, apsalomaakiya en makanae, en makanae entu alarikkonntirunthaan. But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!

5 Appoluthu yovaap veettirkullae raajaavinidaththil poy: intu ummutaiya jeevanaiyum, ummutaiya kumaarar kumaaraththikalin jeevanaiyum, ummutaiya manaivikalin jeevanaiyum, ummutaiya maraுmanaiyaattikalin jeevanaiyum thappuviththa ummutaiya ooliyakkaarar ellaarin mukaththaiyum vetkappaduthineer; intu neer ummaip pakaikkiravarkalaich sinaekiththu, ummaich sinaekikkiravarkalaip pakaikkireer entu vilangukirathu. And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;

6 Athipathikalum sevakarum umakku arpamaanavarkal entu intu vilangappannnukireer; apsalom uyirotirunthu, naangal anaivarum intu seththupponaal, appoluthu ummutaiya paarvaikku nalamaayirukkum entu intu arinthukonntaen. In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.

7 Ippothum elunthirunthu veliyae vanthu, ummutaiya ooliyakkaararotae anpaayp paesum; neer veliyae varaathirunthaal, intu iravu oruvarum umήோtae thangiyiruppathillai entu Karththarmael aannaiyidukiraேn; appoluthu ummutaiya siraுvayathu muthal ithuvaraikkum umakku naeritta ellaath theemaiyaippaarkkilum, athu umakku athika theemaiyaayirukkum entan. Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.

8 Appoluthu raajaa elunthupoy, olimukavaasalil utkaarnthaan; itho, raajaa olimukavaasalil utkaarnthirukkiraar entu sakala janangalukkum arivikkappattapothu, janangal ellaarum raajaavukku munpaaka vanthaarkal; isravaelarovenil avaravar thangal koodaarangalukku otipponaarkal. Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

9 Isravaelutaiya sakala koththirangalilumulla sakala janangalukkullum vaakkuvaatham unndaaki, avarkal: raajaa nammutaiya saththurukkalin kaikku nammai neengalaakkivittar, avarthaanae pelistharin kaikku nammaith thappuviththaar; ippotho apsalomukkuth thappa, thaesaththaivittu otipponaar. And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.

10 Namakku raajaavaaka apishaekampannnnivaiththa apsalom yuththaththilae seththaan; ippothum raajaavaiththirumpa alaiththu varaamal neengal summaayiruppaanaen entu sollikkonndaarkal And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?

And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house.

12 Neengal avan sakotharar, neengal en elumpum en maamsamumaanavarkal; raajaavaith thirumpa alaiththuvara neengal pinthinavarkalaayiruppaanaen entu sollungal. Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?

13 Neengal amaasaavaiyum Nnokki: nee en elumpum en maamsamum allavo? Nee yovaapukkup pathilaaka ennaalum enakku munpaakap pataiththalaivanaayiraavittal, Dhevan atharkuch sariyaakavum atharku athikamaakavum enakkuch seyyakkadavar entu sollachchaொnnaan. And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.

14 Ippatiyae yoothaavin sakala manusharutaiya iruthayaththaiyum oru manushanutaiya iruthayaththaippol inangappannnninathinaal, avarkal raajaavukku: neer ummutaiya ellaa ooliyakkaararodum thirumpivaarum entu solli anuppinaarkal. And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.

15 Raajaa thirumpa varukiratharku yorthaanmattum vanthapothu, yoothaa koththiraththaar: raajaavukku ethirkonndupoy, raajaavai yorthaanaik kadakkappannna kilkaalmattum vanthaarkal. So the king returned, and came to Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to conduct the king over Jordan.

16 Pakoorim ooraanaana penyameenanaakiya kaeraavin makan seemaeyiyum theeviriththu, yoothaa manusharodungaூdath David raajaavukku ethirkonnduponaan. And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.

17 Avanotae penyameen manushar aayirampaerum, savulin veettu vaelaikkaaranaakiya seepaavum, aanndavanutaiya pathinainthu kumaararum, avanutaiya irupathu vaelaikkaararum irunthaarkal; avarkal raajaavukku munpaaka yorthaanai vaekamaayk kadanthuponaarkal. And there were a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went over Jordan before the king.

18 Avarkal raajaavin veettarai ikkaraippaduththavum, avan virumpum kaariyaththukku uthavavum, oru padaku ikkaraiyilae vanthathu; appoluthu kaeraavin kumaaranaakiya seemaeyi yorthaanaik kadakkappokira raajaavukku munpaakath thaalavilunthu, And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the king's household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;

19 Raajaavai Nnokki: en aanndavan en akkiramaththai enmael sumaththaamalum, raajaavaakiya en aanndavan erusalaemilirunthu purappattu varukira naalilae, umathu atiyaan seytha thurokaththai raajaa ninaikkaamalum, thamathu manathil vaikkaamalum iruppaaraaka. And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart.

20 Umathu atiyaanaakiya naan paavanjaெythaen entu arinthirukkiraேn; ippothum, itho, raajaavaakiya en aanndavanukku ethirkonnduvara, yoseppu veettar anaivarukkum naan intu munthikkonntaen entan. For thy servant doth know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I am come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.

21 Appoluthu seruyaavin kumaaranaakiya apisaay pirathiyuththaramaaka: Karththar apishaekampannnninavaraich seemaeyi thooshiththapatiyinaal, avanai atharkaakak kollavaenndaamaa entan. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD's anointed?

22 Atharkuth David: seruyaavin kumaararae, intu neengal enakkuch saththurukkalaakiratharku, enakkum ungalukkum enna? Intu isravaelil oruvan kollappadalaamaa? Intu naan isravaelinmael raajaavaanaen entu enakkuth theriyaathaa entu solli, And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over Israel?

23 Raajaa seemaeyiyaip paarththu: nee saavathillai entu avanukku aannaiyittan. Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.

24 Savulin kumaranaakiya maeviposeththum raajaavukku ethirkonnduvanthaan; raajaa ponanaalmuthal, avan samaathaanaththotae thirumpivarukira naalmattum, avan than kaalkalaich suththampannnavumillai, than thaatiyaich savarampannnavumillai; than vasthirangalai velukkavumillai. And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace.

25 Avan erusalaemilirunthu raajaavukku ethirkonnduvarukirapothu, raajaa avanaip paarththu: maeviposeththae, nee ennodukooda varaamalponathu enna entu kaettan. And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth?

26 Atharku avan raajaavaakiya en aanndavanae, en vaelaikkaaran ennai mosampokkinaan; umathu atiyaanaakiya naan mudavanaanapatiyinaal, oru kaluthaiyinmael senamvaiththu athinmael aeri, raajaavotaekoodap pokiraேn entu atiyaen sonnaen. And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant is lame.

And he hath slandered thy servant unto my lord the king; but my lord the king is as an angel of God: do therefore what is good in thine eyes.

28 Raajaavaakiya en aanndavanukkumunpaaka en thakappan veettar ellaam savulukku aethuvaayirunthaarkalae oliya, mattappati alla; aanaalum umathupanthiyilae saappidukiravarkalotae umathu atiyaenai vaiththeer; innum naan raajaavidaththil muraiyida, ini enakku enna niyaayam irukkirathu entan. For all of my father's house were but dead men before my lord the king: yet didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet to cry any more unto the king?

29 Appoluthu raajaa avanaippaarththu: un kaariyaththaikkuriththu athikamaayp paesuvaanaen? Neeyum seepaavum nilaththaip pangittukkollungal entu naan sollukiraேn entan. And the king said unto him, Why speakest thou any more of thy matters? I have said, Thou and Ziba divide the land.

30 Atharku maeviposeth raajaavai Nnokki: raajaavaakiya en aanndavan samaathaanaththotae thammutaiya veettirku vanthirukkumpothu, avanae ellaavattaைyum eduththukkollattum entan. And Mephibosheth said unto the king, Yea, let him take all, forasmuch as my lord the king is come again in peace unto his own house.

31 Geelaeyaaththiyanaakiya parsilaavum rokilimilirunthu vanthu, yorthaanmattum raajaavai valivittanuppa, avanotaekooda yorthaanin thuraimattum kadanthuvanthaan. And Barzillai the Gileadite came down from Rogelim, and went over Jordan with the king, to conduct him over Jordan.

32 Parsilaa ennpathu vayathusenta kilavanaayirunthaan; raajaa maknaayeemilae thangiyirukkumattum avanaip paraamariththu vanthaan; avan makaa periyamanushanaayirunthaan. Now Barzillai was a very aged man, even fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim; for he was a very great man.

33 Raajaa parsilaavai Nnokki: nee ennotaekoodak kadanthuvaa, erusalaemilae unnai ennidaththil vaiththu paraamarippaen entan. And the king said unto Barzillai, Come thou over with me, and I will feed thee with me in Jerusalem.

34 Parsilaa raajaavaip paarththu: naan raajaavotaekooda erusalaemukku vara, naan innum uyirotirukkum aayusin naatkal emmaaththiram? And Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live, that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem?

35 Ippoluthu naan ennpathu vayathullavan; ini nalamaanathu innathentum theethaanathu innathentum enakkuth theriyumo? Pusikkirathum kutikkirathum umathu atiyaenukku rusikaramaayirukkumo? Sangaீthakkaarar sangaீthakkaarikalutaiya saththaththai inik kaetkakkoodumo? Umathu atiyaenaakiya naan ini raajaavaakiya en aanndavanukkup paaramaayirukkavaenntiyathu enna? I am this day fourscore years old: and can I discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?

36 Atiyaen konjathooram yorthaanmattum raajaavotaekooda varuvaen; atharku raajaa ivvalavu periya upakaaraththai enakkuch seyyavaenntiyathu enna? Thy servant will go a little way over Jordan with the king: and why should the king recompense it me with such a reward?

37 Naan en oorilae mariththu, en thaay thakappanmaar kallaraiyilae adakkampannnappadumpatikku, umathu atiyaan thirumpippokattum; aanaalum, itho, umathu atiyaanaakiya kimkaam raajaavaakiya en aanndavanotaekooda varuvaan; ummutaiya paarvaikku nalamaanapati avanukkuch seyyum entan. Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, and be buried by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee.

38 Appoluthu raajaa: kimkaam ennotaekooda varattum; un paarvaikku nalamaanapatiyae naan avanukku nadappiththu, nee ennidaththil vaenntikkolvathaiyellaam naan unakkuch seyvaen entan. And the king answered, Chimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto thee: and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, that will I do for thee.

39 Janangal ellaarum yorthaanaik kadanthapothu, raajaa parsilaavai muththamittu avanai aaseervathiththu, thaanum kadanthuponaan; avano thannidaththirkuth thirumpippoyvittan. And all the people went over Jordan. And when the king was come over, the king kissed Barzillai, and blessed him; and he returned unto his own place.

40 Raajaa kadanthu, kilkaalmattum ponaan; kimkaam avanotaekoodak kadanthuvanthaan; yoothaa janam anaiththum, isravaelil paathijanamum, raajaavai ikkaraippaduththi vanthapinpu, Then the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him: and all the people of Judah conducted the king, and also half the people of Israel.

41 Itho, Israel manushar ellaarum raajaavinidaththil vanthu, raajaavai Nnokki: engal sakothararaakiya yoothaamanushar thiruttalavaay ummai alaiththuvanthu, raajaavaiyum, avar veettaraiyum, avarotaekooda irukkira thaaveethin manushar anaivaraiyum, yorthaanaik kadakkappannnninathu enna entarkal. And, behold, all the men of Israel came to the king, and said unto the king, Why have our brethren the men of Judah stolen thee away, and have brought the king, and his household, and all David's men with him, over Jordan?

42 Appoluthu yoothaa manushar ellaarum Israel manusharukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: raajaa engalaich sernthavaraanapatiyinaal ithaich seythom; itharkaaka neengal kopippaanaen? Naangal raajaavin kaiyilae ethaiyaakilum vaangith thintomo? Engalukku vekumaanam kodukkappattatho? Entarkal. And all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king is near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the king's cost? or hath he given us any gift?

43 Israel manusharo yoothaa manusharukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: raajaavinidaththil engalukkup paththuppangu irukkirathu; ungalaippaarkkilum engalukkuth thaaveethinidaththil athika urimai unndu; pinnai aen engalai arpamaay ennnnineerkal; engal raajaavaith thirumpa alaiththuvaravaenndum entu munthichchaொnnavarkal naangalallavaa entarkal; aanaalum Israel manusharin paechchaைppaarkkilum yoothaa manusharin paechchu palaththathu. And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.
