அப்பொழுது யூதா மனுஷர் எல்லாரும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷருக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ராஜா எங்களைச் சேர்ந்தவரானபடியினால் இதைச் செய்தோம்; இதற்காக நீங்கள் கோபிப்பானேன்? நாங்கள் ராஜாவின் கையிலே எதையாகிலும் வாங்கித் தின்றோமோ? எங்களுக்கு வெகுமானம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டதோ? என்றார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது யூதா மனிதர்கள் எல்லோரும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனிதர்களுக்கு பதிலாக: ராஜா எங்களைச் சேர்ந்தவரானபடியால் இதைச் செய்தோம்; இதற்காக நீங்கள் கோபப்படுவது என்ன? நாங்கள் ராஜாவின் கையிலே ஏதாகிலும் வாங்கி சாப்பிட்டோமா? எங்களுக்குப் பரிசு கொடுக்கப்பட்டதா? என்றார்கள்.

யூதாவின் ஜனங்கள் எல்லோரும் இஸ்ரவேலருக்குப் பதிலாக, “ஏனெனில் அரசன் எங்களுக்கு நெருங்கிய உறவினர் என்பதே அதன் காரணம். இந்த விஷயம் குறித்து நீங்கள் ஏன் கோபப்படுகிறீர்கள்? நாங்கள் ஒன்றும் அரசனின் செலவில் சாப்பிடவில்லை. அரசன் எங்களுக்கு எந்தப் பரிசும் தரவில்லை” என்றார்கள்.

யூதாவினர் அனைவரும் இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “அரசர் எங்களுக்கு நெருங்கியவர். இக்காரியத்தைப் பற்றி நீங்கள் சினமுறுவது ஏன்? நாங்கள் அரசரிடம் ஏதாவது உண்டோமா? அவரிடமிருந்து நாங்கள் ஏதாவது பெற்றுக்கொண்டோமா” என்றார்கள்.⒫

Appoluthu yoothaa manushar ellaarum Israel manusharukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: raajaa engalaich sernthavaraanapatiyinaal ithaich seythom; itharkaaka neengal kopippaanaen? Naangal raajaavin kaiyilae ethaiyaakilum vaangith thintomo? Engalukku vekumaanam kodukkappattatho? Entarkal.
