1 கர்த்தர் தாவீதை அவனுடைய எல்லாச் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கும், சவுலின் கைகக்கும், நீங்கலாக்கி விடுவித்தபோது, கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பாடின பாட்டு: And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

2 கர்த்தர் என் கன்மலையும், என் கோட்டையும், என் ரட்சகருமானவர். And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

3 தேவன் நான் நம்பியிருக்கிற துருக்கமும், என் கேடகமும், என் ரட்சணியக்கொம்பும், என் உயர்ந்த அடைக்கலமும், என் புகலிடமும், என் ரட்சகருமானவர்; என்னை வல்லடிக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி ரட்சிக்கிறவர் அவரே. The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

4 ஸ்துதிக்குப் பாத்திரராகிய கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவேன்; அதனால் என் சத்துருக்களுக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி ரட்சிக்கப்படுவேன். I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

5 மரண அலைகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டு துர்ச்சனப்பிரவாகம் என்னைப்பயப்படுத்தினது. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

6 பாதாளக் கட்டுகள் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டது; மரணக்கண்ணிகள் என்மேல் விழுந்தது. The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

7 எனக்கு உடன் நெருக்கத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டு, என் தேவனை நோக்கி அபயமிட்டேன்; தமது ஆலயத்திலிருந்து என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டார், என் கூப்பிடுதல் அவர் செவிகளில் ஏறிற்று. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

8 அப்பொழுது பூமி அசைந்து அதிர்ந்தது, அவர் கோபங்கொண்டபடியால் வானத்தின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் குலுங்கி அசைந்தது. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

9 அவர் நாசியிலிருந்து பட்சிக்கிற புகை எழும்பிற்று, அவர் வாயிலிருந்து அக்கினி புறப்பட்டது, அதனால் தழல்மூண்டது. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 வானங்களைத் தாழ்த்தி இறங்கினார்; அவர் பாதங்களின் கீழ் காரிருள் இருந்தது. He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11 கேருபீனின்மேல் ஏறி வேகமாய்ச் சென்றார். காற்றின் செட்டைகளின்மீதில் தரிசனமானார். And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12 ஆகாயத்து மேகங்களிலே கூடிய தண்ணீர்களின் இருளைத் தம்மைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கும் கூடாரமாக்கினார். And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 அவருடைய சந்நிதிப் பிரகாசத்தினால் நெருப்புத்தழலும் எரிந்தது. Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

14 கர்த்தர் வானத்திலிருந்து குமுறி, உன்னதமானவர் தமது சத்தத்தை தொனிக்கப்பண்ணினார். The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

15 அவர் அம்புகளை எய்து, அவர்களைச் சிதற அடித்து, மின்னல்களைப் பிரயோகித்து, அவர்களைக் கலங்கப்பண்ணினார். And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

16 கர்த்தருடைய கண்டிதத்தினாலும், அவருடைய நாசியின் சுவாசக் காற்றினாலும் சமுத்திரத்தின் மதகுகள் திறவுண்டு, பூதலத்தின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் காணப்பட்டது. And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 உயரத்திலிருந்து அவர் கை நீட்டி, என்னைப் பிடித்து, ஜலப்பிரவாகத்திலிருக்கிற என்னைத் தூக்கிவிட்டார். He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

18 என்னிலும் பலவான்களாயிருந்த என் பலத்த சத்துருவுக்கும் என் பகைஞருக்கும் என்னை விடுவித்தார். He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

19 என் ஆபத்துநாளிலே எனக்கு எதிரிட்டு வந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தரோ எனக்கு ஆதரவாயிருந்தார். They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

20 என்மேல் அவர் பிரியமாயிருந்தபடியால், விசாலமான இடத்திலே என்னைக் கொண்டுவந்து, என்னைத் தப்புவித்தார். He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 கர்த்தர் என் நீதிக்குத்தக்கதாக எனக்குப் பதில் அளித்தார்; என் கைகளின் சுத்தத்திற்குத்தக்கதாக எனக்குச் சரிக்கட்டினார். The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22 கர்த்தருடைய வழிகளைக் காத்துக்கொண்டுவந்தேன; நான் என் தேவனுக்குத் துரோகம்பண்ணினதில்லை. For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 அவருடைய நியாயங்களையெல்லாம் எனக்கு முன்பாக நிறுத்தினேன்; நான் அவருடைய பிரமாணங்களை விட்டு விலகாமல், For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 அவர் முன்பாக மனஉண்மையாயிருந்து, என் துர்க்குணத்திற்கு என்னைவிலக்கிக் காத்துக்கொண்டேன். I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

25 ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் என் நீதிக்குத்தக்கதாகவும், தம்முடைய கண்களுக்குமுன் இருக்கிற என் சுத்தத்திற்குத்தக்கதாகவும் எனக்குப் பலனளித்தார். Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

26 தயவுள்ளவனுக்கு நீர் தயவுள்ளவராகவும், உத்தமனுக்கு நீர் உத்தமராகவும், With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt show thyself upright.

27 புனிதனுக்கு நீர் புனிதராகவும், மாறுபாடானவனுக்கு நீர் மாறுபடுகிறவராகவும் தோன்றுவீர். With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt show thyself unsavory.

28 சிறுமைப்பட்ட ஜனத்தை ரட்சிப்பீர்; மேட்டிமையானவர்களைத் தாழ்த்த, உம்முடைய கண்கள் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாய்த் திருப்பப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

29 கர்த்தராகிய தேவரீர் என் விளக்காயிருக்கிறீர்; கர்த்தர் என் இருளை வெளிச்சமாக்குகிறவர். For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

30 உம்மாலே நான் ஒரு சேனைக்குள் பாய்ந்துபோவேன்; என் தேவனாலே ஒருமதிலைத் தாண்டுவேன். For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31 தேவனுடைய வழி உத்தமமானது; கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் புடமிடப்பட்டது; தம்மை நம்புகிற அவனைவருக்கும் அவர் கேடகமாயிருக்கிறார். As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32 கர்த்தரை அல்லாமல் தேவன் யார்? நம்முடைய தேவனையன்றி கன்மலையும் யார்? For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

33 தேவன் எனக்குப் பலத்த அரணானவர்; அவர் என் வழியைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்துகிறவர். God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34 அவர் என் கால்களை மான்களுடைய கால்களைப்போலாக்கி, என் உயர்தலங்களில் என்னை நிறுத்துகிறார். He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35 வெண்கல வில்லும் என் புயங்களால் வளையும்படி, என் கைகளை யுத்தத்திற்குப் பழக்குவிக்கிறார். He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36 உம்முடைய ரட்சிப்பின் கேடகத்தையும் எனக்குத் தந்தீர்; உம்முடைய காருணியம் என்னைப் பெரியவனாக்கும். Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37 என் கால்கள் வழுவாதபடிக்கு நான் நடக்கிற வழியை அகலமாக்கினீர். Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38 என் சத்துருக்களைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து அவர்களை அழிப்பேன்; அவர்களை நிர்மூலமாக்கும்வரைக்கும் திரும்பேன். I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39 அவர்கள் எழுந்திருக்கமாட்டாதபடிக்கு என் பாதங்களின் கீழ் விழுந்தார்கள்; அவர்களை முறிய அடித்து வெட்டினேன். And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40 யுத்தத்திற்கு நீர் என்னைப் பலத்தால் இடைகட்டி, என்மேல் எழும்பினவர்களை என்கீழ் மடங்கப்பண்ணினீர். For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41 நான் என் பகைஞரைச் சங்கரிக்கும்படியாக, என் சத்துருக்களின் பிடரியை எனக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தீர். Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

42 அவர்கள் நோக்கிப் பார்க்கிறார்கள், அவர்களை இரட்சிப்பார் ஒருவருமில்லை; கர்த்தரை நோக்கிப்பார்க்கிறார்கள், அவர்களுக்கு அவர் உத்தரவு கொடுக்கிறதில்லை. They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

43 அவர்களை பூமியின் தூளாக இடித்து, தெருக்களின் சேற்றைப்போல அவர்களை மிதித்து சிதறப்பண்ணுகிறேன். Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

44 என் ஜனத்தின் சண்டைகளுக்கு நீர் என்னை விலக்கிவிட்டு, ஜாதிகளுக்கு என்னைத் தலைவனாக வைக்கிறீர்; நான் அறியாத ஜனங்கள் என்னைச் சேவிக்கிறார்கள். Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

45 அந்நியர் இச்சகம் பேசி எனக்கு அடங்கி, என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டவுடனே எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறார்கள். Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

46 அந்நியர் முனைவிழுந்துபோய், தங்கள் அரண்களிலிருந்து தத்தளிப்பாய்ப் புறப்படுகிறார்கள். Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

47 கர்த்தர் ஜீவனுள்ளவர்; என் கன்மலையானவர் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படுவாராக; என் ரட்சிப்பின் கன்மலையாகிய தேவன் உயர்ந்திருப்பாராக. The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

48 அவர் எனக்காகப் பழிக்குப் பழிவாங்கி, ஜனங்களை எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்துகிற தேவனானவர். It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.

49 அவரே என் சத்துருக்களுக்கு என்னை விலக்கி விடுவிக்கிறவர்; எனக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்கள்மேல் என்னை உயர்த்திக் கொடுமையான மனுஷனுக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவிக்கிறார். And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

50 இதினிமித்தம் கர்த்தாவே, ஜாதிகளுக்குள் உம்மைத் துதித்து, உம்முடைய நாமத்திற்குச் சங்கீதம் பாடுவேன். Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

51 தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின ராஜாவுக்கு மகத்தான ரட்சிப்பை அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணின தாவீதுக்கும் அவன் சந்ததிக்கும் சதாகாலமும் கிருபை செய்கிறார். He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

1 Karththar thaaveethai avanutaiya ellaach saththurukkalin kaikkum, savulin kaikakkum, neengalaakki viduviththapothu, karththarukku munpaakap paatina paattu: And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

2 Karththar en kanmalaiyum, en kottaைyum, en ratchakarumaanavar. And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

3 Dhevan naan nampiyirukkira thurukkamum, en kaedakamum, en ratchanniyakkompum, en uyarntha ataikkalamum, en pukalidamum, en ratchakarumaanavar; ennai vallatikku neengalaakki ratchikkiravar avarae. The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

4 Sthuthikkup paaththiraraakiya karththarai Nnokkik kooppiduvaen; athanaal en saththurukkalukku neengalaakki ratchikkappaduvaen. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

5 Marana alaikal ennaich soolnthukonndu thurchchanappiravaakam ennaippayappaduththinathu. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

6 Paathaalak kattukal ennaich soolnthukonndathu; maranakkannnnikal enmael vilunthathu. The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

7 Enakku udan nerukkaththilae karththarai Nnokkik kooppittu, en thaevanai Nnokki apayamittaேn; thamathu aalayaththilirunthu en saththaththaik kaettar, en kooppiduthal avar sevikalil aerittaு. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

8 Appoluthu poomi asainthu athirnthathu, avar kopangaொnndapatiyaal vaanaththin asthipaarangal kulungi asainthathu. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

9 Avar naasiyilirunthu patchikkira pukai elumpittaு, avar vaayilirunthu akkini purappattathu, athanaal thalalmoonndathu. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 Vaanangalaith thaalththi iranginaar; avar paathangalin geel kaarirul irunthathu. He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11 Kaerupeeninmael aeri vaekamaaych sentar. Kaattin settaைkalinmeethil tharisanamaanaar. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12 Aakaayaththu maekangalilae kootiya thannnneerkalin irulaith thammaich suttilum irukkum koodaaramaakkinaar. And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 Avarutaiya sannithip pirakaasaththinaal neruppuththalalum erinthathu. Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

14 Karththar vaanaththilirunthu kumuri, unnathamaanavar thamathu saththaththai thonikkappannnninaar. The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

15 Avar ampukalai eythu, avarkalaich sithara atiththu, minnalkalaip pirayokiththu, avarkalaik kalangappannnninaar. And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

16 Karththarutaiya kanntithaththinaalum, avarutaiya naasiyin suvaasak kaattinaalum samuththiraththin mathakukal thiravunndu, poothalaththin asthipaarangal kaanappattathu. And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 Uyaraththilirunthu avar kai neetti, ennaip pitiththu, jalappiravaakaththilirukkira ennaith thookkivittar. He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

18 Ennilum palavaankalaayiruntha en palaththa saththuruvukkum en pakainjarukkum ennai viduviththaar. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

19 En aapaththunaalilae enakku ethirittu vanthaarkal; karththaro enakku aatharavaayirunthaar. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

20 Enmael avar piriyamaayirunthapatiyaal, visaalamaana idaththilae ennaik konnduvanthu, ennaith thappuviththaar. He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 Karththar en neethikkuththakkathaaka enakkup pathil aliththaar; en kaikalin suththaththirkuththakkathaaka enakkuch sarikkattinaar. The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22 Karththarutaiya valikalaik kaaththukkonnduvanthaena; naan en thaevanukkuth thurokampannnninathillai. For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 Avarutaiya niyaayangalaiyellaam enakku munpaaka niraுththinaen; naan avarutaiya piramaanangalai vittu vilakaamal, For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 Avar munpaaka manaunnmaiyaayirunthu, en thurkkunaththirku ennaivilakkik kaaththukkonntaen. I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

25 Aakaiyaal Karththar en neethikkuththakkathaakavum, thammutaiya kannkalukkumun irukkira en suththaththirkuththakkathaakavum enakkup palanaliththaar. Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

26 Thayavullavanukku neer thayavullavaraakavum, uththamanukku neer uththamaraakavum, With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt show thyself upright.

27 Punithanukku neer punitharaakavum, maaraுpaadaanavanukku neer maaraுpadukiravaraakavum thontuveer. With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt show thyself unsavory.

28 Siraுmaippatta janaththai ratchippeer; maettimaiyaanavarkalaith thaalththa, ummutaiya kannkal avarkalukku virothamaayth thiruppappattirukkirathu. And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

29 Karththaraakiya thaevareer en vilakkaayirukkireer; Karththar en irulai velichchamaakkukiravar. For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

30 Ummaalae naan oru senaikkul paaynthupovaen; en thaevanaalae orumathilaith thaannduvaen. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31 Thaevanutaiya vali uththamamaanathu; karththarutaiya vasanam pudamidappattathu; thammai nampukira avanaivarukkum avar kaedakamaayirukkiraar. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32 Karththarai allaamal Dhevan yaar? Nammutaiya thaevanaiyanti kanmalaiyum yaar? For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

33 Dhevan enakkup palaththa arannaanavar; avar en valiyaich sevvaippaduththukiravar. God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34 Avar en kaalkalai maankalutaiya kaalkalaippolaakki, en uyarthalangalil ennai niraுththukiraar. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35 Vennkala villum en puyangalaal valaiyumpati, en kaikalai yuththaththirkup palakkuvikkiraar. He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36 Ummutaiya ratchippin kaedakaththaiyum enakkuth thantheer; ummutaiya kaarunniyam ennaip periyavanaakkum. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37 En kaalkal valuvaathapatikku naan nadakkira valiyai akalamaakkineer. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38 En saththurukkalaip pinthodarnthu avarkalai alippaen; avarkalai nirmoolamaakkumvaraikkum thirumpaen. I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39 Avarkal elunthirukkamaattathapatikku en paathangalin geel vilunthaarkal; avarkalai muriya atiththu vettinaen. And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40 Yuththaththirku neer ennaip palaththaal itaikatti, enmael elumpinavarkalai engeel madangappannnnineer. For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41 Naan en pakainjaraich sangarikkumpatiyaaka, en saththurukkalin pidariyai enakku oppukkoduththeer. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

42 Avarkal Nnokkip paarkkiraarkal, avarkalai iratchippaar oruvarumillai; karththarai Nnokkippaarkkiraarkal, avarkalukku avar uththaravu kodukkirathillai. They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

43 Avarkalai poomiyin thoolaaka itiththu, therukkalin settaைppola avarkalai mithiththu sitharappannnukiraேn. Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

44 En janaththin sanntaikalukku neer ennai vilakkivittu, jaathikalukku ennaith thalaivanaaka vaikkireer; naan ariyaatha janangal ennaich sevikkiraarkal. Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

45 Anniyar ichchakam paesi enakku adangi, en saththaththaik kaettavudanae enakkuk geelppatikiraarkal. Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

46 Anniyar munaivilunthupoy, thangal arannkalilirunthu thaththalippaayp purappadukiraarkal. Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

47 Karththar jeevanullavar; en kanmalaiyaanavar sthoththirikkappaduvaaraaka; en ratchippin kanmalaiyaakiya Dhevan uyarnthiruppaaraaka. The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

48 Avar enakkaakap palikkup palivaangi, janangalai enakkuk geelppaduththukira thaevanaanavar. It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.
