1 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் சபையார் எல்லாரும் முதலாம் மாதத்தில் சீன்வனாந்தரத்திலே சேர்ந்து, ஜனங்கள் காதேசிலே தங்கியிருக்கையில், மிரியாம் மரணமடைந்து, அங்கே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டாள். Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

2 ஜனங்களுக்குத் தண்ணீர் இல்லாதிருந்தது; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் மோசேக்கும் ஆரோனுக்கும் விரோதமாகக் கூட்டங்கூடினார்கள். And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

3 ஜனங்கள் மோசேயோடே வாக்குவாதம் பண்ணி: எங்கள் சகோதரர் கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் மாண்டபோது நாங்களும் மாண்டுபோயிருந்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும். And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!

4 நாங்களும் எங்கள் மிருகங்களும் இங்கே சாகும்படி, நீங்கள் கர்த்தரின் சபையை இந்த வனாந்தரத்திலே கொண்டு வந்தது என்ன; And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

5 விதைப்பும் அத்திமரமும், திராட்சச்செடியும், மாதளஞ்செடியும், குடிக்கத் தண்ணீரும் இல்லாத இந்த கெட்ட இடத்தில் எங்களைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி, நீங்கள் எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினது என்ன என்றார்கள். And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

6 அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் சபையாரை விட்டு, ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரவாசலில் போய், முகங்குப்புற விழுந்தார்கள்; கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை அவர்களுக்குக் காணப்பட்டது. And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.

7 கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

8 நீ கோலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, நீயும் உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஆரோனும் சபையாரைக் கூடிவரச்செய்து, அவர்கள் கண்களுக்குமுன்னே கன்மலையைப் பார்த்துப் பேசுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அது தன்னிடத்திலுள்ள தண்ணீரைக் கொடுக்கும்; இப்படி நீ அவர்களுக்குக் கன்மலையிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, சபையாருக்கும் அவர்கள் மிருகங்களுக்கும் குடிக்கக் கொடுப்பாய் என்றார். Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

9 அப்பொழுது மோசே தனக்குக் கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியிலிருந்த கோலை எடுத்தான். And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.

10 மோசேயும் ஆரோனும் சபையாரைக் கன்மலைக்கு முன்பாக கூடிவரச்செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது மோசே அவர்களை நோக்கி: கலகக்காரரே, கேளுங்கள், உங்களுக்கு இந்தக் கன்மலையிலிருந்து நாங்கள் தண்ணீர் புறப்படப்பண்ணுவோமோ என்று சொல்லி, And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 தன் கையை ஓங்கி, கன்மலையைத் தன் கோலினால் இரண்டுதரம் அடித்தான்; உடனே தண்ணீர் ஏராளமாய்ப் புறப்பட்டது, சபையார் குடித்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் மிருகங்களும் குடித்தது. And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 பின்பு கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி: இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக என்னைப் பரிசுத்தம் பண்ணும்படி, நீங்கள் என்னை விசுவாசியாமற் போனபடியினால், இந்தச் சபையாருக்கு நான் கொடுத்த தேசத்திற்குள் அவர்களைக் கொண்டுபோவதில்லை என்றார். And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

13 இங்கே இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கர்த்தரோடே வாக்குவாதம்பண்ணினதினாலும், அவர்களுக்குள்ளே அவருடைய பரிசுத்தம் விளங்கினதினாலும் இது மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீர் என்னப்பட்டது. This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

14 பின்பு மோசே காதேசிலிருந்து ஏதோமின் ராஜாவினிடத்துக்கு ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி: And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:

15 எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் எகிப்துக்குப் போனதும், நாங்கள் எகிப்திலே நெடுநாள் வாசம்பண்ணினதும், எகிப்தியர் எங்களை எங்கள் பிதாக்களையும் உபத்திரவப்படுத்தினதும், இவைகளினால் எங்களுக்கு நேரிட்ட எல்லா வருத்தமும் உமக்குத் தெரிந்திருக்கிறது. How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:

16 கர்த்தரை நோக்கி நாங்கள் மன்றாடினோம்; அவர் எங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, ஒரு தூதனை அனுப்பி, எங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்; இப்பொழுது நாங்கள் உமது எல்லைக்கு உட்பட்ட காதேஸ் ஊரில் வந்திருக்கிறோம். And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:

17 நாங்கள் உமது தேசத்தின் வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகும்படி உத்தரவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும்; வயல்வெளிகள் வழியாகவும், திராட்சத்தோட்டங்கள் வழியாகவும் நாங்கள் போகாமலும், துரவுகளின் தண்ணீரை குடியாமலும், ராஜபாதையாகவே நடந்து, உமது எல்லையைக் கடந்துபோகுமட்டும், வலதுபுறமும் இடதுபுறமும் சாயாதிருப்போம் என்று, உமது சகோதரனாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் சொல்லி அனுப்புகிறான் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான். Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.

18 அதற்கு ஏதோம்: நீ என் தேசத்தின் வழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகக் கூடாது; போனால் பட்டயத்தோடே உன்னை எதிர்க்கப் புறப்படுவேன் என்று அவனுக்குச் சொல்லச் சொன்னான். And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.

19 அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் அவனை நோக்கி: நடப்பான பாதையின் வழியாய் போவோம்; நாங்களும் எங்கள் மிருகங்களும் உன் தண்ணீரைக் குடித்தால் அதற்குக் கிரயங்கொடுப்போம்; வேறொன்றும் செய்யாமல், கால்நடையாய் மாத்திரம் கடந்துபோவோம் என்றார்கள். And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing anything else, go through on my feet.

20 அதற்கு அவன்: நீ கடந்துபோகக் கூடாது என்று சொல்லி, வெகு ஜனங்களோடும் பலத்த கையோடும் அவர்களை எதிர்க்கப் புறப்பட்டான். And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

21 இப்படி ஏதோம் தன் எல்லைவழியாய்க் கடந்துபோகும்படி இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கவில்லை; ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலர் அவனை விட்டு விலகிப்போனார்கள். Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.

22 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரான சபையார் எல்லாரும் காதேசை விட்டுப் பிரயாணப்பட்டு, ஓர் என்னும் மலைக்குப் போனார்கள். And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.

23 ஏதோம் தேசத்தின் எல்லைக்கு அருகான ஓர் என்னும் மலையிலே கர்த்தர் மோசேயையும் ஆரோனையும் நோக்கி: And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,

24 ஆரோன் தன் ஜனத்தாரோடே சேர்க்கப்படுவான். மேரிபாவின் தண்ணீரைப்பற்றிய காரியத்தில் நீங்கள் என் வாக்குக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமற்போனபடியினால், நான் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்குக் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்தில் அவன் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை. Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

25 நீ ஆரோனையும் அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசாரையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, அவர்களை ஓர் என்னும் மலையில் ஏறப்பண்ணி, Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:

26 ஆரோன் உடுத்திருக்கிற வஸ்திரங்களைக் கழற்றி, அவைகளை அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கு உடுத்துவாயாக; ஆரோன் அங்கே மரித்து, தன் ஜனத்தாரோடே சேர்க்கப்படுவான் என்றார். And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.

27 கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே மோசே செய்தான்; சபையார் எல்லாரும் பார்க்க அவர்கள் ஓர் என்னும் மலையில் ஏறினார்கள். And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

28 அங்கே ஆரோன் உடுத்திருந்த வஸ்திரங்களை மோசே கழற்றி, அவைகளை அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசாருக்கு உடுத்தினான்; அப்பொழுது ஆரோன் அங்கே மலையின் உச்சியிலே மரித்தான்; பின்பு மோசேயும் எலெயாசாரும் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கினார்கள். And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.

29 ஆரோன் ஜீவித்துப்போனான் என்பதைச் சபையார் எல்லோரும் கண்டபோது, இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் எல்லாரும் ஆரோனுக்காக முப்பது நாள் துக்கங்கொண்டாடினார்கள். And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

1 Israel puththirarin Sabaiyaar ellaarum muthalaam maathaththil seenvanaantharaththilae sernthu, janangal kaathaesilae thangiyirukkaiyil, miriyaam maranamatainthu, angae adakkampannnappattal. Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

2 Janangalukkuth thannnneer illaathirunthathu; appoluthu avarkal Moseskkum aaronukkum virothamaakak koottangaூtinaarkal. And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

3 Janangal Mosesyotae vaakkuvaatham pannnni: engal sakotharar karththarutaiya sannithiyil maanndapothu naangalum maanndupoyirunthaal nalamaayirukkum. And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!

4 Naangalum engal mirukangalum ingae saakumpati, neengal karththarin Sabaiyai intha vanaantharaththilae konndu vanthathu enna; And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

5 Vithaippum aththimaramum, thiraatchachchetiyum, maathalanjaெtiyum, kutikkath thannnneerum illaatha intha ketta idaththil engalaik konnduvarumpati, neengal engalai ekipthilirunthu purappadappannnninathu enna entarkal. And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

6 Appoluthu Mosesyum aaronum Sabaiyaarai vittu, aasarippuk koodaaravaasalil poy, mukanguppura vilunthaarkal; karththarutaiya makimai avarkalukkuk kaanappattathu. And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.

7 Karththar Mosesyai Nnokki: And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

8 Nee kolai eduththukkonndu, neeyum un sakotharanaakiya aaronum Sabaiyaaraik kootivarachcheythu, avarkal kannkalukkumunnae kanmalaiyaip paarththup paesungal; appoluthu athu thannidaththilulla thannnneeraik kodukkum; ippati nee avarkalukkuk kanmalaiyilirunthu thannnneer purappadappannnni, Sabaiyaarukkum avarkal mirukangalukkum kutikkak koduppaay entar. Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

9 Appoluthu Moses thanakkuk Karththar kattalaiyittapatiyae karththarutaiya sannithiyiliruntha kolai eduththaan. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.

10 Mosesyum aaronum Sabaiyaaraik kanmalaikku munpaaka kootivarachcheythaarkal; appoluthu Moses avarkalai Nnokki: kalakakkaararae, kaelungal, ungalukku inthak kanmalaiyilirunthu naangal thannnneer purappadappannnuvomo entu solli, And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 Than kaiyai ongi, kanmalaiyaith than kolinaal iranndutharam atiththaan; udanae thannnneer aeraalamaayp purappattathu, Sabaiyaar kutiththaarkal; avarkal mirukangalum kutiththathu. And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 Pinpu Karththar Mosesyaiyum aaronaiyum Nnokki: Israel puththirarin kannkalukku munpaaka ennaip Parisuththam pannnumpati, neengal ennai visuvaasiyaamar ponapatiyinaal, inthach Sabaiyaarukku naan koduththa thaesaththirkul avarkalaik konndupovathillai entar. And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

13 Ingae Israel puththirar karththarotae vaakkuvaathampannnninathinaalum, avarkalukkullae avarutaiya Parisuththam vilanginathinaalum ithu maeripaavin thannnneer ennappattathu. This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

14 Pinpu Moses kaathaesilirunthu aethomin raajaavinidaththukku sthaanaapathikalai anuppi: And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:

15 Engal pithaakkal ekipthukkup ponathum, naangal ekipthilae nedunaal vaasampannnninathum, ekipthiyar engalai engal pithaakkalaiyum upaththiravappaduththinathum, ivaikalinaal engalukku naeritta ellaa varuththamum umakkuth therinthirukkirathu. How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:

16 Karththarai Nnokki naangal mantatinom; avar engalukkuch sevikoduththu, oru thoothanai anuppi, engalai ekipthilirunthu purappadappannnninaar; ippoluthu naangal umathu ellaikku utpatta kaathaes ooril vanthirukkirom. And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:

17 Naangal umathu thaesaththin valiyaayk kadanthupokumpati uththaravu kodukkavaenndum; vayalvelikal valiyaakavum, thiraatchaththottangal valiyaakavum naangal pokaamalum, thuravukalin thannnneerai kutiyaamalum, raajapaathaiyaakavae nadanthu, umathu ellaiyaik kadanthupokumattum, valathupuramum idathupuramum saayaathiruppom entu, umathu sakotharanaakiya Israel solli anuppukiraan entu sollach sonnaan. 18 Atharku aethom: nee en thaesaththin valiyaayk kadanthupokak koodaathu; ponaal pattayaththotae unnai ethirkkap purappaduvaen entu avanukkuch sollach sonnaan. And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.

19 Appoluthu Israel puththirar avanai Nnokki: nadappaana paathaiyin valiyaay povom; naangalum engal mirukangalum un thannnneeraik kutiththaal atharkuk kirayangaொduppom; vaerontum seyyaamal, kaalnataiyaay maaththiram kadanthupovom entarkal. And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing anything else, go through on my feet.

20 Atharku avan: nee kadanthupokak koodaathu entu solli, veku janangalodum palaththa kaiyodum avarkalai ethirkkap purappattan. And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

21 Ippati aethom than ellaivaliyaayk kadanthupokumpati isravaelarukku uththaravu kodukkavillai; aakaiyaal isravaelar avanai vittu vilakipponaarkal. Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.

22 Israel puththiraraana Sabaiyaar ellaarum kaathaesai vittup pirayaanappattu, or ennum malaikkup ponaarkal. And the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.

23 Aethom thaesaththin ellaikku arukaana or ennum malaiyilae Karththar Mosesyaiyum aaronaiyum Nnokki: And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,

24 Aaron than janaththaarotae serkkappaduvaan. Maeripaavin thannnneeraippattiya kaariyaththil neengal en vaakkukkuk geelppatiyaamarponapatiyinaal, naan Israel puththirarukkuk kodukkira thaesaththil avan piravaesippathillai. Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

25 Nee aaronaiyum avan kumaaranaakiya eleyaasaaraiyum koottikkonndu, avarkalai or ennum malaiyil aerappannnni, Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:

26 Aaron uduththirukkira vasthirangalaik kalatti, avaikalai avan kumaaranaakiya eleyaasaarukku uduththuvaayaaka; aaron angae mariththu, than janaththaarotae serkkappaduvaan entar. And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.

27 Karththar kattalaiyittapatiyae Moses seythaan; Sabaiyaar ellaarum paarkka avarkal or ennum malaiyil aerinaarkal. And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

28 Angae aaron uduththiruntha vasthirangalai Moses kalatti, avaikalai avan kumaaranaakiya eleyaasaarukku uduththinaan; appoluthu aaron angae malaiyin uchchiyilae mariththaan; pinpu Mosesyum eleyaasaarum malaiyilirunthu iranginaarkal. And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.

29 Aaron jeeviththupponaan enpathaich Sabaiyaar ellorum kanndapothu, Israel vamsaththaar ellaarum aaronukkaaka muppathu naal thukkangaொnndaatinaarkal. And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.
