4அதை எனக்குப் பிரியமாயிருக்கிற ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களாகச் சமைத்து, நான் ʠρசிக்கவும், நான் மரணமடையுமுன்னே என் ஆத்துமா உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவும், என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவா என்றான்.And make me savory meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.
5ஈசாக்கு தன் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாவோடே பேசுகையில், ரெபெக்காள் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தாள். ஏசா வேட்டையாடிக்கொண்டுவரும்படி வனத்துக்குப் போனான்.And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
6அப்பொழுது ரெபெக்காள் தன் குமாரனான யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: உன் தகப்பன் உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசாவை அழைத்து:And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,
7நான் புசித்து, எனக்கு மரணம் வருமுன்னே, கர்த்தரை முன்னிட்டு உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, நீ எனக்காக வேட்டையாடி, அதை எனக்கு ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களாகச் சமைத்துக்கொண்டுவா என்று சொல்லக்கேட்டேன்.Bring me venison, and make me savory meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death.
8ஆகையால் என் மகனே, என் சொல்லைக் கேட்டு, நான் உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிறபடி செய்.Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.
9நீ ஆட்டுமந்தைக்குப் போய், இரண்டு நல்ல வெள்ளாட்டுக்குட்டிகளைக் கொண்டுவா; நான் அவைகளை உன் தகப்பனுக்குப் பிரியமானபடி ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களாகச் சமைப்பேன்.Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savory meat for thy father, such as he loveth:

11அதற்கு யாக்கோபு தன் தாயாகிய ரெபெக்காளை நோக்கி: என் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசா ரோமம் மிகுந்தவன், நான் ரோமமில்லாதவன்.And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:
12ஒருவேளை என் தகப்பன் என்னைத் தடவிப்பார்ப்பார்; அப்பொழுது நான் அவருக்கு எத்தனாய்க் காணப்பட்டு, என்மேல் ஆசீர்வாதத்தையல்ல, சாபத்தை வரப்பண்ணிக்கொள்வேனே என்றான்.My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
13அதற்கு அவன் தாய், என் மகனே, உன்மேல் வரும் சாபம் என்மேல் வரட்டும்; என் சொல்லைமாத்திரம் கேட்டு, நீ போய், அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவா என்றாள்.And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them.
14அவன் போய் அவைகளைப் பிடித்து, தன் தாயினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தான்; அவனுடைய தாய் அவன் தகப்பனுக்குப் பிரியமானபடி ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களைச் சமைத்தாள்.And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savory meat, such as his father loved.

18அவன் தன் தகப்பனிடத்தில் வந்து, என் தகப்பனே என்றான்; அதற்கு அவன்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; நீ யார், என் மகனே என்றான்.And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son?

20அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்குத் தன் குமாரனை நோக்கி: என் மகனே, இது உனக்கு இத்தனை சீக்கிரமாய் எப்படி அகப்பட்டது என்றான். அவன்: உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எனக்கு நேரிடப்பண்ணினார் என்றான்.And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me.
21அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: என் மகனே, நீ என் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாதானோ அல்லவோ என்று நான் உன்னைத் தடவிப்பார்க்கும்படி கிட்ட வா என்றான்.And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.
22யாக்கோபு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கண்டையில் கிட்டப் போனான்; அவன் இவனைத் தடவிப்பார்த்து: சத்தம் யாக்கோபின் சத்தம், கைகளோ ஏசாவின் கைகள் என்று சொல்லி,And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
23அவனுடைய கைகள் அவன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசாவின் கைகளைப்போல ரோமமுள்ளவைகளாயிருந்தபடியினாலே, இன்னான் என்று அறியாமல், அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்து,And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.
24நீ என் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாதானோ என்றான்; அவன்: நான்தான் என்றான்.And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.
25அப்பொழுது அவன்: என் குமாரனே, நீ வேட்டையாடிக் கொண்டுவந்ததை நான் புசித்து, என் ஆத்துமா உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி அதை என் கிட்டக் கொண்டுவா என்றான்; அவன் அதைக் கிட்டக் கொண்டுபோனான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் புசித்தான்: பிற்பாடு, திராட்சரசம் அவனுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து கொடுத்தான், அவன் குடித்தான்.And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine and he drank.
26அப்பொழுது அவன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கு அவனை நோக்கி: என் மகனே, நீ கிட்ட வந்து என்னை முத்தஞ்செய் என்றான்.And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.
27அவன் கிட்டப்போய், அவனை முத்தஞ்செய்தான்; அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய வஸ்திரங்களின் வாசனையை மோந்து: இதோ, என் குமாரனுடைய வாசனை கர்த்தர் ஆசீர்வதித்த வயல்வெளியின் வாசனையைப்போல இருக்கிறது.And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:
28தேவன் உனக்கு வானத்துப் பனியையும் பூமியின் கொழுமையையும் கொடுத்து, மிகுந்த தானியத்தையும் திராட்சரசத்தையும் தந்தருளுவாராக.Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
29ஜனங்கள் உன்னைச் சேவிக்கவும் ஜாதிகள் உன்னை வணங்கவும் கடவர்கள்; உன் சகோதரருக்கு எஜமானாயிருப்பாய்; உன் தாயின் பிள்ளைகள் உன்னை வணங்குவார்கள்; உன்னைச் சபிக்கிறவர்கள் சபிக்கப்பட்டவர்களும், உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறவர்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுமாய் இருப்பார்கள் என்று சொல்லி அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தான்.Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
30ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபை ஆசீர்வதித்து முடிந்தபோது, யாக்கோபு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கின் சமுகத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டவுடனே, அவன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசா வேட்டையாடி வந்து சேர்ந்தான்.And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
31அவனும் ருசியுள்ள பதார்த்தங்களைச் சமைத்து, தன் தகப்பனண்டைக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து, தகப்பனை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய ஆத்துமா என்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, என் தகப்பனார் எழுந்திருந்து, உம்முடைய குமாரனாகிய நான் வேட்டையாடிக் கொண்டுவந்ததைப் புசிப்பாராக என்றான்.And he also had made savory meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
32அப்பொழுது அவன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கு: நீ யார் என்றான்; அதற்கு அவன்: நான் உமது மூத்த மகனாகிய ஏசா என்றான்.And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.
33அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு மிகவும் பிரமித்து நடுங்கி: வேட்டையாடி எனக்குக் கொண்டுவந்தானே, அவன் யார்? நீ வருமுன்னே அவையெல்லாவற்றிலும் நான் புசித்து அவனை ஆசீர்வதித்தேனே, அவன் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவனாகவும் இருப்பான் என்றான்.And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.
34ஏசா தன் தகப்பனுடைய வார்த்தைகளை கேட்டவுடனே, மிகவும் மனங்கசந்து உரத்த சத்தமிட்டு அலறி, தன் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: என் தகப்பனே, என்னையும் ஆசீர்வதியும் என்றான்.And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.
35அதற்கு அவன்: உன் சகோதரன் தந்திரமாய் வந்து, உன்னுடைய ஆசீர்வாதத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டான் என்றான்And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.
36அப்பொழுது அவன்: அவன் பெயர் யாக்கோபு என்னப்படுவது சரியல்லவா? இதோடே இரண்டுதரம் என்னை மோசம்போக்கினான்; என் சேஷ்ட புத்திரபாகத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்; இதோ, இப்பொழுது என் ஆசீர்வாதத்தையும் வாங்கிக்கொண்டான் என்று சொல்லி; நீர் எனக்கு ஒரு ஆசீர்வாதத்தையாகிலும் வைத்துவைக்கவில்லையா என்றான்.And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?

38ஏசா தன் தகப்பனை நோக்கி: என் தகப்பனே, இந்த ஒரே ஆசீர்வாதம் மாத்திரமா உம்மிடத்தில் உண்டு? என் தகப்பனே, என்னையும் ஆசீர்வதியும் என்று சொல்லி, ஏசா சத்தமிட்டு அழுதான்.And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
39அப்பொழுது அவன் தகப்பனாகிய ஈசாக்கு அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: உன் வாசஸ்தலம் பூமியின் சாரத்தோடும் உயர வானத்திலிருந்து இறங்கும் பனியோடும் இருக்கும்.And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;
40உன் பட்டயத்தினாலே நீ பிழைத்து, உன் சகோதரனைச் சேவிப்பாய்; நீ மேற்கொள்ளும் காலம் வரும்போதோ, உன் கழுத்திலிருக்கிற அவனுடைய நுகத்தடியை முறித்துப்போடுவாய் என்றான்.And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
41யாக்கோபைத் தன் தகப்பன் ஆசீர்வதித்ததினிமித்தம் ஏசா யாக்கோபைப் பகைத்து: என் தகப்பனுக்காகத் துக்கிக்கும் நாட்கள் சீக்கிரமாய் வரும், அப்பொழுது என் சகோதரனாகிய யாக்கோபைக் கொன்றுபோடுவேன் என்று ஏசா தன் இருதயத்திலே சொல்லிக் கொண்டான்.And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
42மூத்த மகனாகிய ஏசாவின் வார்த்தைகள் ரெபெக்காளுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது அவள் தன் இளைய மகனாகிய யாக்கோபை அழைத்து: உன் சகோதரனாகிய ஏசா உன்னைக் கொன்றுபோட நினைத்து, தன்னைத் தேற்றிக்கொள்ளுகிறான்.And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee.
43ஆகையால், என் மகனே, நான் சொல்வதைக் கேட்டு, எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு, ஆரானில் இருக்கிற என் சகோதரனாகிய லாபானிடத்துக்கு ஓடிப்போய்,Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;
44உன் சகோதரனுடைய கோபம் தணியுமட்டும் சிலநாள் அவனிடத்திலே இரு.And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turn away;
45உன் சகோதரன் உன்மேல் வைத்த கோபம் தணிந்து, நீ அவனுக்குச் செய்ததை அவன் மறந்தபின், நான் ஆள் அனுப்பி, அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து உன்னை அழைப்பிப்பேன்; நான் ஒரே நாளில் உங்கள் இருவரையும் ஏன் இழந்துபோகவேண்டும் என்றாள்.Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?
46பின்பு, ரெபெக்காள் ஈசாக்கை நோக்கி: ஏத்தின் குமாரத்திகளினிமித்தம் என் உயிர் எனக்கு வெறுப்பாயிருக்கிறது; இந்தத் தேசத்துப் பெண்களாகிய ஏத்தின் குமாரத்திகளில் யாக்கோபு ஒரு பெண்ணைக் கொள்வானானால் என் உயிர் இருந்து ஆவதென்ன என்றாள்.And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

8Aakaiyaal en makanae, en sollaik kaettu, naan unakkuk karpikkirapati sey.Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.
9Nee aattumanthaikkup poy, iranndu nalla vellaattukkuttikalaik konnduvaa; naan avaikalai un thakappanukkup piriyamaanapati rusiyulla pathaarththangalaakach samaippaen.Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savory meat for thy father, such as he loveth:
10Un thakappan thaam maranamataiyumunnae unnai aaseervathikkumpati avar pusippatharku nee athai avaridaththil konndupokavaenndum ental.And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death.
11Atharku yaakkopu than thaayaakiya repekkaalai Nnokki: en sakotharanaakiya aesaa romam mikunthavan, naan romamillaathavan.And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:
12Oruvaelai en thakappan ennaith thadavippaarppaar; appoluthu naan avarukku eththanaayk kaanappattu, enmael aaseervaathaththaiyalla, saapaththai varappannnnikkolvaenae entan.My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.
13Atharku avan thaay, en makanae, unmael varum saapam enmael varattum; en sollaimaaththiram kaettu, nee poy, avaikalai ennidaththil konnduvaa ental.And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them.
14Avan poy avaikalaip pitiththu, than thaayinidaththil konnduvanthaan; avanutaiya thaay avan thakappanukkup piriyamaanapati rusiyulla pathaarththangalaich samaiththaal.And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savory meat, such as his father loved.
15Pinpu, repekkaal veettilae thannidaththil iruntha than mooththa makanaakiya aesaavin nalla vasthirangalai eduththu, than ilaiya makanaakiya yaakkopukku uduththi,And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son:
16Vellaattukkuttikalin tholai avan kaikalilaeyum romamillaatha avan kaluththilaeyum pottu;And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck:
17Thaan samaiththa rusiyulla pathaarththangalaiyum appangalaiyum than kumaaranaakiya yaakkopin kaiyilae koduththaal.And she gave the savory meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.
18Avan than thakappanidaththil vanthu, en thakappanae entan; atharku avan: itho, irukkiraேn; nee yaar, en makanae entan.And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son?

20Appoluthu eesaakkuth than kumaaranai Nnokki: en makanae, ithu unakku iththanai seekkiramaay eppati akappattathu entan. Avan: ummutaiya thaevanaakiya Karththar enakku naeridappannnninaar entan.And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me.

22Yaakkopu than thakappanaakiya eesaakkanntaiyil kittap ponaan; avan ivanaith thadavippaarththu: saththam yaakkopin saththam, kaikalo aesaavin kaikal entu solli,And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.

And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine and he drank.
26Appoluthu avan thakappanaakiya eesaakku avanai Nnokki: en makanae, nee kitta vanthu ennai muththanjaெy entan.And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.
27Avan kittappoy, avanai muththanjaெythaan; appoluthu avanutaiya vasthirangalin vaasanaiyai monthu: itho, en kumaaranutaiya vaasanai Karththar aaseervathiththa vayalveliyin vaasanaiyaippola irukkirathu.And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:
28Dhevan unakku vaanaththup paniyaiyum poomiyin kolumaiyaiyum koduththu, mikuntha thaaniyaththaiyum thiraatcharasaththaiyum thantharuluvaaraaka.Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:

30Eesaakku yaakkopai aaseervathiththu mutinthapothu, yaakkopu than thakappanaakiya eesaakkin samukaththaivittup purappattavudanae, avan sakotharanaakiya aesaa vaettaைyaati vanthu sernthaan.And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
31Avanum rusiyulla pathaarththangalaich samaiththu, than thakappananntaikkuk konnduvanthu, thakappanai Nnokki: ummutaiya aaththumaa ennai aaseervathikkumpati, en thakappanaar elunthirunthu, ummutaiya kumaaranaakiya naan vaettaைyaatik konnduvanthathaip pusippaaraaka entan.And he also had made savory meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
32Appoluthu avan thakappanaakiya eesaakku: nee yaar entan; atharku avan: naan umathu mooththa makanaakiya aesaa entan.And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.
33Appoluthu eesaakku mikavum piramiththu nadungi: vaettaைyaati enakkuk konnduvanthaanae, avan yaar? Nee varumunnae avaiyellaavattilum naan pusiththu avanai aaseervathiththaenae, avan aaseervathikkappattavanaakavum iruppaan entan.And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.
34Aesaa than thakappanutaiya vaarththaikalai kaettavudanae, mikavum manangasanthu uraththa saththamittu alari, than thakappanai Nnokki: en thakappanae, ennaiyum aaseervathiyum entan.And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.

Ithotae iranndutharam ennai mosampokkinaan; en seshda puththirapaakaththai eduththukkonndaan; itho, ippoluthu en aaseervaathaththaiyum vaangikkonndaan entu solli; neer enakku oru aaseervaathaththaiyaakilum vaiththuvaikkavillaiyaa entan.And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?

En thakappanae, ennaiyum aaseervathiyum entu solli, aesaa saththamittu aluthaan.And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.

40Un pattayaththinaalae nee pilaiththu, un sakotharanaich sevippaay; nee maerkollum kaalam varumpotho, un kaluththilirukkira avanutaiya nukaththatiyai muriththuppoduvaay entan.And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
41Yaakkopaith than thakappan aaseervathiththathinimiththam aesaa yaakkopaip pakaiththu: en thakappanukkaakath thukkikkum naatkal seekkiramaay varum, appoluthu en sakotharanaakiya yaakkopaik kontupoduvaen entu aesaa than iruthayaththilae sollik konndaan.And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.
