1 இத்தாலியா பட்டாளம் என்னப்பட்ட பட்டாளத்திலே நூற்றுக்கு அதிபதியாகிய கொர்நேலியு என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் செசரியா பட்டணத்திலே இருந்தான். There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

2 அவன் தேவபக்தியுள்ளவனும் தன்வீட்டாரனைவரோடும் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்தவனுமாயிருந்து, ஜனங்களுக்கு மிகுந்த தருமங்களைச் செய்து, எப்பொழுதும் தேவனை நோக்கி ஜெபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தான். A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

3 பகலில் ஏறக்குறைய ஒன்பதாம் மணிநேரத்திலே தேவனுடைய தூதன் தன்னிடத்தில் வரவும், கொர்நேலியுவே, என்று அழைக்கவும் பிரத்தியட்சமாய்த் தரிசனங்கண்டு, He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

4 அவனை உற்றுப்பார்த்து, பயந்து: ஆண்டவரே, என்ன, என்றான். அப்பொழுது அவன்: உன் ஜெபங்களும் உன் தருமங்களும் தேவனுக்கு நினைப்பூட்டுதலாக அவர் சந்நிதியில் வந்தெட்டியிருக்கிறது. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

5 இப்பொழுது நீ யோப்பா பட்டணத்துக்கு மனுஷரை அனுப்பி, பேதுரு என்று மறுபேர்கொண்ட சீமோனை அழைப்பி. And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

6 அவன் தோல் பதனிடுகிறவனாகிய சீமோன் என்னும் ஒருவனிடத்திலே தங்கியிருக்கிறான்; அவனுடைய வீடு கடலோரத்திலிருக்கிறது. நீ செய்யவேண்டியதை அவன் உனக்குச் சொல்லுவான் என்றான். He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

7 கொர்நேலியு தன்னுடனே பேசின தேவதூதன் போனபின்பு, தன் வீட்டு மனுஷரில் இரண்டு பேரையும் தன்னிடத்தில் சேவிக்கிற போர்ச்சேவகரில் தேவபக்தியுள்ள ஒருவனையும் அழைத்து, And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

8 எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர்களுக்கு விவரித்துச் சொல்லி அவர்களை யோப்பா பட்டணத்துக்கு அனுப்பினான். And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

9 மறுநாளிலே அவர்கள் பிரயாணப்பட்டு, அந்தப் பட்டணத்துக்குச் சமீபித்து வருகையில், பேதுரு ஆறாம் மணிநேரத்தில் ஜெபம்பண்ணும்படி மேல் வீட்டில் ஏறினான். On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 அவன் மிகுந்த பசியடைந்து சாப்பிட மனதாயிருந்தான்; அதற்கு அவர்கள் ஆயத்தம்பண்ணுகையில், அவன் ஞானதிருஷ்டியடைந்து, And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 வானம் திறந்திருக்கிறதாகவும், நாலுமுனைகளும் கட்டப்பட்ட பெரிய துப்பட்டியைப்போல ஒருவிதமான கூடு தன்னிடத்தில் இறங்கித் தரையில் விடப்பட்டிருக்கிறதாகவும், And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 அதிலே பூமியிலுள்ள சலவிதமான நாலுகால் ஜீவன்களும் விருட்சங்களும், ஊரும் பிராணிகளும், ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளும் இருக்கிறதாகவும், கண்டான். Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 அல்லாமலும் பேதுருவே, எழுந்திரு, அடித்துப் புசி என்று அவனுக்குச் சொல்லும் ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டாயிற்று. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 அதற்குப் பேதுரு: அப்படியல்ல, ஆண்டவரே, தீட்டும் அசுத்தமுமாயிருக்கிற யாதொன்றையும் நான் ஒருக்காலும் புசித்ததில்லை என்றான். But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 அப்பொழுது தேவன் சுத்தமாக்கினவைகளை நீ தீட்டாக எண்ணாதே என்று இரண்டாந்தரமும் சத்தம் அவனுக்கு உண்டாயிற்று. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 மூன்றாந்தரமும் அப்படியே உண்டாயிற்று. பின்பு அந்தக் கூடு திரும்ப வானத்துக்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17 அப்பொழுது பேதுரு, தான் கண்டதரிசனத்தைக் குறித்துத் தனக்குள்ளே சந்தேகப்படுகையில், இதோ, கொர்நேலியுவினால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட மனுஷர்கள் சீமோனுடைய வீட்டை விசாரித்துக்கொண்டு வாசற்படியிலே வந்து நின்று: Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

18 பேதுரு என்று மறுபேர்கொண்ட சீமோன் இங்கே தங்கியிருக்கிறாரா என்று கேட்டார்கள். And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19 பேதுரு அந்தத் தரிசனத்தைக் குறித்துச் சிந்தனை பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், ஆவியானவர்: இதோ, மூன்று மனுஷர் உன்னைத் தேடுகிறார்கள். While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20 நீ எழுந்து, இறங்கி, ஒன்றுக்குஞ் சந்தேகப்படாமல், அவர்களுடனே கூடப்போ; நானே அவர்களை அனுப்பினேன் என்று அவனுக்குச் சொன்னார். Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 அப்பொழுது பேதுரு கொர்நேலியுவினால் தன்னிடத்தில் அனுப்பப்பட்ட மனுஷரிடத்திற்கு இறங்கிப்போய்: இதோ, நீங்கள் தேடுகிறவன் நான்தான், நீங்கள் வந்திருக்கிற காரியம் என்ன என்றான். Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23 அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவர்களை உள்ளே அழைத்து, அவர்களுக்கு உபசாரஞ்செய்து, மறுநாளிலே அவர்களுடனேகூடப் புறப்பட்டான்; யோப்பா பட்டணத்தாராகிய சகோதரரில் சிலரும் அவனுடனேகூடப் போனார்கள். Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 மறுநாளிலே செசரியா பட்டணத்தில் பிரவேசித்தார்கள். கொர்நேலியு தன் உறவின்முறையாரையும் தன்னுடைய விசேஷித்த சிநேகிதரையும் கூடவரவழைத்து, அவர்களுக்காகக் காத்திருந்தான். And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 பேதுரு உள்ளே பிரவேசிக்கிறபொழுது, கொர்நேலியு அவனுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய், அவன் பாதத்தில் விழுந்து, பணிந்துகொண்டான். And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 பேதுரு அவனைத் தூக்கியெடுத்து: எழுந்திரும், நானும் ஒரு மனுஷன்தான் என்றான். But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27 அவனுடனே பேசிக்கொண்டு உள்ளேபோய், அநேகர் கூடிவந்திருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு, And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28 அவர்களை நோக்கி: அந்நிய ஜாதியானுடனே கலந்து அவனிடத்தில் போக்குவரவாயிருப்பது யூதனானவனுக்கு விலக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறதென்று நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்; அப்படியிருந்தும், எந்த மனுஷனையும் தீட்டுள்ளவனென்றும் அசுத்தனென்றும் நான் சொல்லாதபடிக்கு தேவன் எனக்குக் காண்பித்திருக்கிறார். And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 ஆகையால் நீங்கள் என்னை அழைப்பித்தபோது நான் எதிர்பேசாமல் வந்தேன். இப்போதும் என்ன காரியத்துக்காக என்னை அழைத்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்கிறேன் என்றான். Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 அதற்குக் கொர்நேலியு: நாலு நாளைக்கு முன்னே இந்நேரத்திலே நான் உபவாசித்து, ஒன்பதாம்மணி நேரத்தில் வீட்டிலே ஜெபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன்; அப்பொழுது பிரகாசமுள்ள வஸ்திரந்தரித்த ஒரு மனுஷன் ஒருவன் எனக்கு முன்பாக நின்று: And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 கொர்நேலியுவே உன் ஜெபம் கேட்கப்பட்டது, உன் தானதருமங்கள் தேவசந்நிதியில் நினைத்தருளப்பட்டது. And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 யோப்பா பட்டணத்துக்கு ஆளனுப்பி, பேதுரு என்று மறுபேர்கொண்ட சீமோனை வரவழைப்பாயாக, அவன் கடலோரத்திலே தோல்பதனிடுகிறவனாகிய சீமோனுடைய வீட்டிலே தங்கியிருக்கிறான்; அவன் வந்து உன்னிடத்தில் பேசுவான் என்றார். Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 அந்தப்படியே நான் உடனே உம்மிடத்திற்கு ஆள் அனுப்பினேன்; நீர் வந்தது நல்ல காரியம்; தேவனாலே உமக்குக் கட்டளையிடப்பட்ட யாவையும் கேட்கும்படிக்கு நாங்கள் எல்லாரும் இப்பொழுது இங்கே தேவசமுகத்தில் கூடியிருக்கிறோம் என்றான். Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

1 Iththaaliyaa pattalam ennappatta pattalaththilae noottaுkku athipathiyaakiya kornaeliyu ennum paerkonnda oru manushan sesariyaa pattanaththilae irunthaan. There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

2 Avan thaevapakthiyullavanum thanveettaranaivarodum thaevanukkup payanthavanumaayirunthu, janangalukku mikuntha tharumangalaich seythu, eppoluthum thaevanai Nnokki Jebampannnnikkonntirunthaan. A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

3 Pakalil aerakkuraiya onpathaam manninaeraththilae thaevanutaiya thoothan thannidaththil varavum, kornaeliyuvae, entu alaikkavum piraththiyatchamaayth tharisananganndu, He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

4 Avanai uttaுppaarththu, payanthu: aanndavarae, enna, entan. Appoluthu avan: un jepangalum un tharumangalum thaevanukku ninaippoottuthalaaka avar sannithiyil vanthettiyirukkirathu. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

5 Ippoluthu nee yoppaa pattanaththukku manusharai anuppi, paethuru entu maraுpaerkonnda seemonai alaippi. And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

6 Avan thol pathanidukiravanaakiya seemon ennum oruvanidaththilae thangiyirukkiraan; avanutaiya veedu kadaloraththilirukkirathu. Nee seyyavaenntiyathai avan unakkuch solluvaan entan. He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

7 Kornaeliyu thannudanae paesina thaevathoothan ponapinpu, than veettu manusharil iranndu paeraiyum thannidaththil sevikkira porchchaேvakaril thaevapakthiyulla oruvanaiyum alaiththu, And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

8 Ellaavattaைyum avarkalukku vivariththuch solli avarkalai yoppaa pattanaththukku anuppinaan. And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

9 Maraுnaalilae avarkal pirayaanappattu, anthap pattanaththukkuch sameepiththu varukaiyil, paethuru aaraam manninaeraththil Jebampannnumpati mael veettil aerinaan. On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 Avan mikuntha pasiyatainthu saappida manathaayirunthaan; atharku avarkal aayaththampannnukaiyil, avan njaanathirushtiyatainthu, And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 Vaanam thiranthirukkirathaakavum, naalumunaikalum kattappatta periya thuppattiyaippola oruvithamaana koodu thannidaththil irangith tharaiyil vidappattirukkirathaakavum, And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Athilae poomiyilulla salavithamaana naalukaal jeevankalum virutchangalum, oorum piraannikalum, aakaayaththup paravaikalum irukkirathaakavum, kanndaan. Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 Allaamalum paethuruvae, elunthiru, atiththup pusi entu avanukkuch sollum oru saththam unndaayittaு. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 Atharkup paethuru: appatiyalla, aanndavarae, theettum asuththamumaayirukkira yaathontaiyum naan orukkaalum pusiththathillai entan. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 Appoluthu Dhevan suththamaakkinavaikalai nee theettaka ennnnaathae entu iranndaantharamum saththam avanukku unndaayittaு. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 Moontantharamum appatiyae unndaayittaு. Pinpu anthak koodu thirumpa vaanaththukku eduththukkollappattathu. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17 Appoluthu paethuru, thaan kanndatharisanaththaik kuriththuth thanakkullae santhaekappadukaiyil, itho, kornaeliyuvinaal anuppappatta manusharkal seemonutaiya veettaை visaariththukkonndu vaasarpatiyilae vanthu nintu: Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

18 Paethuru entu maraுpaerkonnda seemon ingae thangiyirukkiraaraa entu kaettarkal. And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19 Paethuru anthath tharisanaththaik kuriththuch sinthanai pannnnikkonntirukkaiyil, Aaviyaanavar: itho, moontu manushar unnaith thaedukiraarkal. While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20 Nee elunthu, irangi, ontukkunj santhaekappadaamal, avarkaludanae koodappo; naanae avarkalai anuppinaen entu avanukkuch sonnaar. Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 Appoluthu paethuru kornaeliyuvinaal thannidaththil anuppappatta manusharidaththirku irangippoy: itho, neengal thaedukiravan naanthaan, neengal vanthirukkira kaariyam enna entan. Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

22 Atharku avarkal: neethimaanum, thaevanukkup payappadukiravarum, yoothajanangalellaaraalum nallavarentu saatchi pettavarumaakiya kornaeliyu ennum noottaுkku athipathi ummaith thammutaiya veettukku alaippiththu, ummaal sollappadum vaarththaikalaik kaetkumpati Parisuththa thoothanaal thaevayaththanamaayk kattalaipettaாr entarkal. And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23 Appoluthu paethuru avarkalai ullae alaiththu, avarkalukku upasaaranjaெythu, maraுnaalilae avarkaludanaekoodap purappattan; yoppaa pattanaththaaraakiya sakothararil silarum avanudanaekoodap ponaarkal. Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 Maraுnaalilae sesariyaa pattanaththil piravaesiththaarkal. Kornaeliyu than uravinmuraiyaaraiyum thannutaiya viseshiththa sinaekitharaiyum koodavaravalaiththu, avarkalukkaakak kaaththirunthaan. And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 Paethuru ullae piravaesikkirapoluthu, kornaeliyu avanukku ethirkonndupoy, avan paathaththil vilunthu, panninthukonndaan. And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 Paethuru avanaith thookkiyeduththu: elunthirum, naanum oru manushanthaan entan. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27 Avanudanae paesikkonndu ullaepoy, anaekar kootivanthirukkirathaik kanndu, And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28 Avarkalai Nnokki: anniya jaathiyaanudanae kalanthu avanidaththil pokkuvaravaayiruppathu yoothanaanavanukku vilakkappattirukkirathentu neengal arinthirukkireerkal; appatiyirunthum, entha manushanaiyum theettullavanentum asuththanentum naan sollaathapatikku Dhevan enakkuk kaannpiththirukkiraar. 29 Aakaiyaal neengal ennai alaippiththapothu naan ethirpaesaamal vanthaen. Ippothum enna kaariyaththukkaaka ennai alaiththeerkal entu kaetkiraேn entan. Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 Atharkuk kornaeliyu: naalu naalaikku munnae innaeraththilae naan upavaasiththu, onpathaammanni naeraththil veettilae Jebampannnnikkonntirunthaen; appoluthu pirakaasamulla vasthiranthariththa oru manushan oruvan enakku munpaaka nintu: And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 Kornaeliyuvae un Jebam kaetkappattathu, un thaanatharumangal thaevasannithiyil ninaiththarulappattathu. And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 Yoppaa pattanaththukku aalanuppi, paethuru entu maraுpaerkonnda seemonai varavalaippaayaaka, avan kadaloraththilae tholpathanidukiravanaakiya seemonutaiya veettilae thangiyirukkiraan; avan vanthu unnidaththil paesuvaan entar. Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 Anthappatiyae naan udanae ummidaththirku aal anuppinaen; neer vanthathu nalla kaariyam; thaevanaalae umakkuk kattalaiyidappatta yaavaiyum kaetkumpatikku naangal ellaarum ippoluthu ingae thaevasamukaththil kootiyirukkirom entan. Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
