Luke 11 in Tamil

1 அவர் ஒரு இடத்தில் ஜெபம்பண்ணி முடித்தபின்பு, அவருடைய சீஷரில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, யோவான் தன் சீஷருக்கு ஜெபம் பண்ணப் போதித்ததுபோல, நீரும் எங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டும் என்றான். And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

2 அதற்கு அவர்: நீங்கள் ஜெபம்பண்ணும் போது: பரமண்டலங்களிலிருக்கிற எங்கள் பிதாவே, உம்முடைய நாமம் பரிசுத்தப்படுவதாக; உம்முடைய ராஜ்யம் வருவதாக; உம்முடைய சித்தம் பரமண்டலத்திலே செய்யப்படுகிறதுபோல பூமியிலேயும் செய்யப்படுவதாக; And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

3 எங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய ஆகாரத்தை அன்றன்றும் எங்களுக்குத் தாரும்; Give us day by day our daily bread.

4 எங்கள் பாவங்களை எங்களுக்கு மன்னியும்; நாங்களும் எங்களிடத்தில் கடன்பட்ட எவனுக்கும் மன்னிக்கிறோமே; எங்களைச் சோதனைக்குட்படப்பண்ணாமல், தீமையினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்துக்கொள்ளும், என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார். And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

5 பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்களில் ஒருவன் தனக்குச் சிநேகிதனாயிருக்கிறவனிடத்தில் பாதிராத்திரியிலே போய்: சிநேகிதனே, And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

6 என் சிநேகிதன் ஒருவன் வழிப்பிரயாணமாய் என்னிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறான், அவன்முன் வைக்கிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் ஒன்றுமில்லை, நீ மூன்று அப்பங்களை எனக்குக் கடனாகத் தரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான். For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

7 வீட்டுக்குள் இருக்கிறவன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னைத் தொந்தரவு செய்யாதே, கதவு பூட்டியாயிற்று, என் பிள்ளைகள் என்னோடேகூடப் படுத்திருக்கிறார்கள், நான் எழுந்திருந்து, உனக்குத் தரக்கூடாது என்று சொன்னான். And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

9 மேலும் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: கேளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது கண்டடைவீர்கள்; தட்டுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குத் திறக்கப்டும். And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

10 ஏனென்றால், கேட்கிறவன் எவனும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; தேடுகிறவன் கண்டடைகிறான்; தட்டுகிறவனுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும். For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

11 உங்களில் தகப்பனாயிருக்கிற ஒருவனிடத்தில் மகன் அப்பங்கேட்டால், அவனுக்குக் கல்லைக் கொடுப்பானா? மீனைக்கேட்டால் மீனுக்குப் பதிலாய்ப் பாம்பைக் கொடுப்பபானா? If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12 அல்லது முட்டையைக் கேட்டால், அவனுக்குத் தேளைக் கொடுப்பானா? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 பொல்லாதவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நல்ல ஈவுகளைக் கொடுக்க அறிந்திருக்கும்போது, பரம பிதாவானவர் தம்மிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியைக் கொடுப்பது அதிக நிச்சயம் அல்லவா என்றார். If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

14 பின்பு அவர் ஊமையாயிருந்த ஒரு பிசாசைத் துரத்தினார். பிசாசு புறப்பட்டுப்போனபின்பு ஊமையன் பேசினான்; ஜனங்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள். And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

15 அவர்களில் சிலர்: இவன் பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாகிய பெயெல்செபூலைக்கொண்டு பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறான் என்றார்கள். But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

16 வேறு சிலர் அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காட்டவேண்டுமென்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டார்கள். And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

17 அவர்களுடைய சிந்தனைகளை அவர் அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: தனக்ՠρத் தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த ராஜ்யமும் பாழாய்ப்போம்; தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த வீடும் விழுந்துபோம். But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

18 சாத்தானும் தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருந்தால் அவன் ராஜ்யம் எப்படி நிலைநிற்கும்? இப்படியிருக்க, பெயெல்செபூலைக்கொண்டு நான் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறேன் என்கிறீர்களே. If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

19 நான் பெயெல்செபூலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தினால், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் அவைகளை யாராலே துரத்துகிறார்கள்? ஆகையால், அவர்களே உங்களை நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர்களாயிருப்பார்கள். And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

20 நான் தேவனுடைய விரலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறபடியால், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் உங்களிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறதே. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

21 ஆயுதந்தரித்த பலவான் தன் அரமனையைக் காக்கிறபோது, அவனுடையபொருள் பத்திரப்பட்டிருக்கும். When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

22 அவனிலும் அதிக பலவான் வந்து, அவனை மேற்கொள்வானேயாகில், அவன் நம்பியிருந்த சகல ஆயுதவர்க்கத்தையும் பறித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனுடைய கொள்ளைப்பொருளைப் பங்கிடுவான். But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

23 என்னோடே இராதவன் எனக்கு விரோதியாயிருக்கிறான், என்னோடே சேர்க்காதவன் சிதறடிக்கிறான். He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

24 அசுத்த ஆவி ஒரு மனுஷனை விட்டுப்புறப்படும்போது, வறண்ட இடங்களில் அலைந்து, இளைப்பாறுதல் தேடியும் கண்டடையாமல்: நான் விட்டுவந்த என் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போவேன் என்றுசொல்லி, When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

25 அதில் வரும்போது, அது பெருக்கி ஜோடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கக் கண்டு, And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

26 திரும்பிப்போய், தன்னிலும் பொல்லாத வேறு ஏழு ஆவிகளைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, உட்புகுந்து, அங்கே குடியிருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது அந்த மனுஷனுடைய முன்னிலைமையிலும் அவன் பின்னிலைமை அதிக கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும் என்றார். Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

27 அவர் இவைகளைச் சொல்லுகையில், ஜனக்கூட்டத்திலிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: உம்மைச் சுமந்த கர்ப்பமும் நீர் பாலுண்ட முலைகளும் பாக்கியமுள்ளவைகளென்று சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னாள். And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

28 அதற்கு அவர்: அப்படியானாலும், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு, அதைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களே அதிக பாக்கியவான்கள் என்றார். But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

29 ஜனங்கள் திரளாய்க் கூடிவந்திருக்கிறபொழுது அவர்: இந்தச் சந்ததியார் பொல்லாதவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள், அடையாளத்தைத் தேடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் யோனா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் அடையாளமேயன்றி வேறே அடையாளம் இவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை. And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.

30 யோனா நினிவே பட்டணத்தாருக்கு அடையாளமாயிருந்ததுபோல, மனுஷகுமாரனும் இந்தச் சந்ததிக்கு அடையாளமாயிருப்பார். For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.

31 தென்தேசத்து ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனுடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்க பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து வந்தாள்; இதோ, சாலொமோனிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புநாளிலே அந்த ராஜஸ்திரீ இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவாள். The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

32 யோனாவின் பிரசங்கத்தைக் கேட்டு நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் மனந்திரும்பினார்கள்; இதோ, யோனாவிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புநாளிலே நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவார்கள். The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

33 ஒருவனும் விளக்கைக் கொளுத்தி, மறைவிடத்திலாவது, மரக்காலின் கீழேயாவது வைக்காமல், உள்ளே வருகிறவர்கள் வெளிச்சம் காணும்படி, அதை விளக்குத்தண்டின்மேல் வைப்பான். No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

34 கண்ணானது சரீரத்தின் விளக்காயிருக்கிறது; உன் கண் தெளிவாயிருந்தால், உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும்; உன் கண் கெட்டதாயிருந்தால் உன் சரீரம் முழுவதும் இருளாயிருக்கும். The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

35 ஆகையால் உன்னிலுள்ள வெளிச்சம் இருளாகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

36 உன் சரீரம் ஒருபுறத்திலும் இருளடைந்திராமல் முழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருந்தால், ஒரு விளக்கு தன் பிரகாசத்தினாலே உனக்கு வெளிச்சம் கொடுக்கிறதுபோல, உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும் என்றார். If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

37 அவர் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், பரிசேயன் ஒருவன் தன்னுடனேகூட அவர் பகற்போஜனம் பண்ணவேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்; அவர் போய்ப் பந்தியிருந்தார். And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.

38 அவர் போஜனம்பண்ணுகிறதற்குமுன் கைகழுவாமலிருந்ததைப் பரிசேயன் கண்டு, ஆச்சரியப்பட்டான். And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.

39 கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: பரிசேயராகிய நீங்கள் போஜனபான பாத்திரங்களின் வெளிப்புறத்தைச் சுத்தமாக்குகிறீர்கள், உங்கள் உள்ளமோ கொள்ளையினாலும் பொல்லாப்பினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது. And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

40 மதிகேடரே, வெளிப்புறத்தை உண்டாக்கினவர் உட்புறத்தையும் உண்டாக்கவில்லையோ? Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

41 உங்களுக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் பிச்சை கொடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது சகலமும் உங்களுக்குச் சுத்தமாயிருக்கும். But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

42 பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, நீங்கள் ஒற்தலாம் மருக்கொழுந்து முதலிய சகலவித பூண்டுகளிலும் தசம பாகம் கொடுத்து, நியாயத்தையும் தேவ அன்பையும் விட்டுவிடுகிறீர்கள்; இவைகளையும் செய்யவேண்டும், அவைகளையும் விட்டுவிடாதிருக்கவேண்டுமே. But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

43 பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, ஜெபஆலயங்களில் முதன்மையான ஆசனங்களையும், சந்தைகளில் வந்தனங்களையும் விரும்புகிறீர்கள். Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

44 மாயக்காரராகிய வேதபாரகரே, பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, மறைந்திருக்கிற பிரேதக்குழிகளைப்போலிருக்கிறீர்கள், அவைகள்மேல் நடக்கிற மனுஷருக்கு அவைகள் தெரியாதிருக்கிறது என்றார். Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

45 அப்பொழுது நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, நீர் இப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறதினால் எங்களையும் நிந்திக்கிறீரே என்றான். Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

46 அதற்கு அவர்: நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, சுமக்க அரிதான சுமைகளை மனுஷர்மேல் சுமத்துகிறீர்கள்; நீங்களோ உங்கள் விரல்களில் ஒன்றினாலும் அந்தச் சுமைகளைத் தொடவும்மாட்டீர்கள். And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

47 உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் கொலைசெய்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள். Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

48 ஆகையால் உங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய கிரியைகளுக்கு நீங்களும் உடன்பட்டவர்களென்று சாட்சியிடுகிறீர்கள்; எப்படியென்றால், உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்தார்கள், நீங்களோ அவர்களுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள். Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.

49 ஆதலால் தேவஞானமானது: நான் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் அப்போஸ்தலர்களையும் அவர்களிடத்தில் அனுப்புவேன்; அவர்களில் சிலரைக் கொலைசெய்து, சிலரைத் துன்பப்படுத்துவார்கள்; Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

50 ஆபேலின் இரத்தம்முதல் பலிபீடத்துக்கும் தேவாலயத்துக்கும் நடுவே கொலையுண்ட சகரியாவின் இரத்தம்வரைக்கும், உலகத்தோற்றமுதற்கொண்டு சிந்தப்பட்ட சகல தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுடைய இரத்தப்பழியும் இந்தச் சந்ததியினிடத்தில் கேட்கப்படத்தக்கதாக அப்படிச் செய்வார்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறது. That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

51 நிச்சயமாகவே இந்த சந்ததியினிடத்தில் அது கேட்கப்படும் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன். From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

52 நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, அறிவாகிய திறவுகோலை எடுத்துக் கொண்டீர்கள், நீங்களும் உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறதில்லை, உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறவர்களையும் தடைபண்ணுகிறீர்கள் என்றார். Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

53 இவைகளை அவர்களுக்கு அவர் சொல்லுகையில், வேதபாரகரும் பரிசேயரும் அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சாட்டும்பொருட்டு, அவர் வாய்மொழியில் ஏதாகிலும் பிழை கண்டுபிடிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உபாயம்பண்ணி அவரை மிகவும் நெருக்கவும், And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

54 அநேக காரியங்களைக் குறித்துப்பேசும்படி அவரை ஏவவும் தொடங்கினார்கள். Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

1 Avar oru idaththil Jebampannnni mutiththapinpu, avarutaiya seesharil oruvan avarai Nnokki: aanndavarae, yovaan than seesharukku Jebam pannnap pothiththathupola, neerum engalukkup pothikkavaenndum entan. And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

2 Atharku avar: neengal Jebampannnum pothu: paramanndalangalilirukkira engal pithaavae, ummutaiya naamam Parisuththappaduvathaaka; ummutaiya raajyam varuvathaaka; ummutaiya siththam paramanndalaththilae seyyappadukirathupola poomiyilaeyum seyyappaduvathaaka; And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

3 Engalukku vaenntiya aakaaraththai antantum engalukkuth thaarum; Give us day by day our daily bread.

4 Engal paavangalai engalukku manniyum; naangalum engalidaththil kadanpatta evanukkum mannikkiromae; engalaich sothanaikkutpadappannnnaamal, theemaiyinintu engalai iratchiththukkollum, entu sollungal entar. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

5 Pinnum avar avarkalai Nnokki: ungalil oruvan thanakkuch sinaekithanaayirukkiravanidaththil paathiraaththiriyilae poy: sinaekithanae, And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

6 En sinaekithan oruvan valippirayaanamaay ennidaththil vanthirukkiraan, avanmun vaikkiratharku ennidaththil ontumillai, nee moontu appangalai enakkuk kadanaakath tharavaenndum entu kaettukkonndaan. For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

7 Veettukkul irukkiravan pirathiyuththaramaaka: ennaith thontharavu seyyaathae, kathavu poottiyaayittaு, en pillaikal ennotaekoodap paduththirukkiraarkal, naan elunthirunthu, unakkuth tharakkoodaathu entu sonnaan. And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

8 Pinpu, thanakku avan sinaekithanaayirukkirathinimiththam elunthu avanukkuk kodaavittalum, thannidaththil avan varunthik kaetkirathinimiththamaavathu elunthirunthu, avanukkuth thaevaiyaanathaik koduppaan entu ungalukkuch sollukiraேn. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

9 Maelum naan ungalukkuch sollukirathaavathu: kaelungal, appoluthu ungalukkuk kodukkappadum; thaedungal, appoluthu kanndataiveerkal; thattungal, appoluthu ungalukkuth thirakkapdum. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

10 Aenental, kaetkiravan evanum pettaுkkollukiraan; thaedukiravan kanndataikiraan; thattukiravanukkuth thirakkappadum. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

11 Ungalil thakappanaayirukkira oruvanidaththil makan appangaettal, avanukkuk kallaik koduppaanaa? Meenaikkaettal meenukkup pathilaayp paampaik koduppapaanaa? If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12 Allathu muttaைyaik kaettal, avanukkuth thaelaik koduppaanaa? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 Pollaathavarkalaakiya neengal ungal pillaikalukku nalla eevukalaik kodukka arinthirukkumpothu, parama pithaavaanavar thammidaththil vaenntikkollukiravarkalukkup Parisuththa aaviyaik koduppathu athika nichchayam allavaa entar. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

14 Pinpu avar oomaiyaayiruntha oru pisaasaith thuraththinaar. Pisaasu purappattupponapinpu oomaiyan paesinaan; janangal aachchariyappattarkal. And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

15 Avarkalil silar: ivan pisaasukalin thalaivanaakiya peyelsepoolaikkonndu pisaasukalaith thuraththukiraan entarkal. But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

16 Vaeraு silar avaraich sothikkumpati vaanaththilirunthu oru ataiyaalaththaik kaattavaenndumentu avaridaththil kaettarkal. And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

17 Avarkalutaiya sinthanaikalai avar arinthu, avarkalai Nnokki: thanakՠρth thaanae virothamaayp pirinthirukkira entha raajyamum paalaayppom; thanakkuththaanae virothamaayp pirinthirukkira entha veedum vilunthupom. But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

18 Saaththaanum thanakkuththaanae virothamaayp pirinthirunthaal avan raajyam eppati nilainirkum? Ippatiyirukka, peyelsepoolaikkonndu naan pisaasukalaith thuraththukiraேn enkireerkalae. If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

19 Naan peyelsepoolinaalae pisaasukalaith thuraththinaal, ungal pillaikal avaikalai yaaraalae thuraththukiraarkal? Aakaiyaal, avarkalae ungalai niyaayantheerkkiravarkalaayiruppaarkal. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

20 Naan thaevanutaiya viralinaalae pisaasukalaith thuraththukirapatiyaal, thaevanutaiya raajyam ungalidaththil vanthirukkirathae. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

21 Aayuthanthariththa palavaan than aramanaiyaik kaakkirapothu, avanutaiyaporul paththirappattirukkum. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

22 Avanilum athika palavaan vanthu, avanai maerkolvaanaeyaakil, avan nampiyiruntha sakala aayuthavarkkaththaiyum pariththukkonndu, avanutaiya kollaipporulaip pangiduvaan. But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

23 Ennotae iraathavan enakku virothiyaayirukkiraan, ennotae serkkaathavan sitharatikkiraan. He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

24 Asuththa aavi oru manushanai vittuppurappadumpothu, varannda idangalil alainthu, ilaippaaraுthal thaetiyum kanndataiyaamal: naan vittuvantha en veettukkuth thirumpippovaen entusolli, When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

25 Athil varumpothu, athu perukki jotikkappattirukkak kanndu, And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

26 Thirumpippoy, thannilum pollaatha vaeraு aelu aavikalaik koottikkonnduvanthu, utpukunthu, angae kutiyirukkum; appoluthu antha manushanutaiya munnilaimaiyilum avan pinnilaimai athika kaedullathaayirukkum entar. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

27 Avar ivaikalaich sollukaiyil, janakkoottaththiliruntha oru sthiree avarai Nnokki: ummaich sumantha karppamum neer paalunnda mulaikalum paakkiyamullavaikalentu saththamittuch sonnaal. And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

28 Atharku avar: appatiyaanaalum, thaevanutaiya vaarththaiyaik kaettu, athaik kaaththukkollukiravarkalae athika paakkiyavaankal entar. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

29 Janangal thiralaayk kootivanthirukkirapoluthu avar: inthach santhathiyaar pollaathavarkalaayirukkiraarkal, ataiyaalaththaith thaedukiraarkal; aanaalum yonaa theerkkatharisiyin ataiyaalamaeyanti vaeraே ataiyaalam ivarkalukkuk kodukkappaduvathillai. And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.

30 Yonaa ninivae pattanaththaarukku ataiyaalamaayirunthathupola, manushakumaaranum inthach santhathikku ataiyaalamaayiruppaar. For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.

31 Thenthaesaththu raajasthiree saalomonutaiya njaanaththaik kaetka poomiyin ellaikalilirunthu vanthaal; itho, saalomonilum periyavar ingae irukkiraar; aathalaal niyaayaththeerppunaalilae antha raajasthiree inthach santhathiyaarodelunthu nintu, ivarkalmael kuttanjumaththuvaal. The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

32 Yonaavin pirasangaththaik kaettu ninivae pattanaththaar mananthirumpinaarkal; itho, yonaavilum periyavar ingae irukkiraar; aathalaal niyaayaththeerppunaalilae ninivae pattanaththaar inthach santhathiyaarodelunthu nintu, ivarkalmael kuttanjumaththuvaarkal. The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

33 Oruvanum vilakkaik koluththi, maraividaththilaavathu, marakkaalin geelaeyaavathu vaikkaamal, ullae varukiravarkal velichcham kaanumpati, athai vilakkuththanntinmael vaippaan. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

34 Kannnnaanathu sareeraththin vilakkaayirukkirathu; un kann thelivaayirunthaal, un sareeramuluvathum velichchamaayirukkum; un kann kettathaayirunthaal un sareeram muluvathum irulaayirukkum. The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

35 Aakaiyaal unnilulla velichcham irulaakaathapatikku echcharikkaiyaayiru. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

36 Un sareeram orupuraththilum irulatainthiraamal muluvathum velichchamaayirunthaal, oru vilakku than pirakaasaththinaalae unakku velichcham kodukkirathupola, un sareeramuluvathum velichchamaayirukkum entar. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

37 Avar ippatip paesikkonntirukkaiyil, pariseyan oruvan thannudanaekooda avar pakarpojanam pannnavaenndumentu avarai vaenntikkonndaan; avar poyp panthiyirunthaar. And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat.

38 Avar pojanampannnukiratharkumun kaikaluvaamalirunthathaip pariseyan kanndu, aachchariyappattan. And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.

39 Karththar avanai Nnokki: pariseyaraakiya neengal pojanapaana paaththirangalin velippuraththaich suththamaakkukireerkal, ungal ullamo kollaiyinaalum pollaappinaalum nirainthirukkirathu. And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

40 Mathikaedarae, velippuraththai unndaakkinavar utpuraththaiyum unndaakkavillaiyo? Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

41 Ungalukku unndaanavaikalil pichchaை kodungal, appoluthu sakalamum ungalukkuch suththamaayirukkum. But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

42 Pariseyarae, ungalukku aiyo, neengal orthalaam marukkolunthu muthaliya sakalavitha poonndukalilum thasama paakam koduththu, niyaayaththaiyum thaeva anpaiyum vittuvidukireerkal; ivaikalaiyum seyyavaenndum, avaikalaiyum vittuvidaathirukkavaenndumae. But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

43 Pariseyarae, ungalukku aiyo, jepaaalayangalil muthanmaiyaana aasanangalaiyum, santhaikalil vanthanangalaiyum virumpukireerkal. Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.

44 Maayakkaararaakiya vaethapaarakarae, pariseyarae, ungalukku aiyo, marainthirukkira piraethakkulikalaippolirukkireerkal, avaikalmael nadakkira manusharukku avaikal theriyaathirukkirathu entar. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

45 Appoluthu niyaayasaasthirikalil oruvan avarai Nnokki: pothakarae, neer ippatich sollukirathinaal engalaiyum ninthikkireerae entan. Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying thou reproachest us also.

46 Atharku avar: niyaayasaasthirikalae, ungalukku aiyo, sumakka arithaana sumaikalai manusharmael sumaththukireerkal; neengalo ungal viralkalil ontinaalum anthach sumaikalaith thodavummaattirkal. And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

47 Ungalukku aiyo, ungal pithaakkal kolaiseytha theerkkatharisikalukkuk kallaraikalaik kattukireerkal. Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

48 Aakaiyaal ungal pithaakkalutaiya kiriyaikalukku neengalum udanpattavarkalentu saatchiyidukireerkal; eppatiyental, ungal pithaakkal avarkalaik kolaiseythaarkal, neengalo avarkalukkuk kallaraikalaik kattukireerkal. Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.

49 Aathalaal thaevanjaanamaanathu: naan theerkkatharisikalaiyum apposthalarkalaiyum avarkalidaththil anuppuvaen; avarkalil silaraik kolaiseythu, silaraith thunpappaduththuvaarkal; Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

50 Aapaelin iraththammuthal palipeedaththukkum thaevaalayaththukkum naduvae kolaiyunnda sakariyaavin iraththamvaraikkum, ulakaththottamutharkonndu sinthappatta sakala theerkkatharisikalutaiya iraththappaliyum inthach santhathiyinidaththil kaetkappadaththakkathaaka appatich seyvaarkal entu sollukirathu. That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

51 Nichchayamaakavae intha santhathiyinidaththil athu kaetkappadum entu ungalukkuch sollukiraேn. From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

52 Niyaayasaasthirikalae, ungalukku aiyo, arivaakiya thiravukolai eduththuk konnteerkal, neengalum utpiravaesikkirathillai, utpiravaesikkiravarkalaiyum thataipannnukireerkal entar. Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

53 Ivaikalai avarkalukku avar sollukaiyil, vaethapaarakarum pariseyarum avarmael kuttanjaattumporuttu, avar vaaymoliyil aethaakilum pilai kanndupitikkavaenndum entu upaayampannnni avarai mikavum nerukkavum, And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

54 Anaeka kaariyangalaik kuriththuppaesumpati avarai aevavum thodanginaarkal. Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
