2 Kings 19 in Tamil

1 ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா அதைக் கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்து, இரட்டு உடுத்திக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்து, And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

2 அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய எலியாக்கீமையும், சம்பிரதியாகிய செப்னாவையும், ஆசாரியர்களின் மூப்பரையும், ஆமோத்தின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியினிடத்துக்கு இரட்டு உடுத்திக்கொண்டவர்களாக அனுப்பினான். And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

3 இவர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: இந்த நாள் நெருக்கமும் கண்டிதமும் தூஷணமும் அநுபவிக்கிற நாள்; பிள்ளைப்பேறு நோக்கியிருக்கிறது, பெறவோ பெலனில்லை. And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

4 ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நிந்திக்கும்படி அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தன் ஆண்டவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட ரப்சாக்கே சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்; உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிற வார்த்தைகளின் நிமித்தம் தண்டனை செய்வார்; ஆகையால் இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்வீராக என்று எசேக்கியா சொல்லச்சொன்னார் என்றார்கள். It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.

5 இவ்விதமாய் எசேக்கியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் ஏசாயாவினிடத்தில் வந்து சொன்னார்கள். So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

6 அப்பொழுது ஏசாயா அவர்களை நோக்கி: அசீரியா ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் என்னைத் தூஷித்ததும் நீர் கேட்டதுமான வார்த்தைகளினாலே பயப்படாதேயும். And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

7 இதோ, அவன் ஒரு செய்தியைக் கேட்டு, தன் தேசத்துக்குத் திரும்புவதற்கான ஆவியை நான் அவனுக்குள் அனுப்பி, அவனை அவன் தேசத்திலே பட்டயத்தால் விழப்பண்ணுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்பதை உங்கள் ஆண்டவனிடத்தில் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான். Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

8 அசீரியா ராஜா லாகீசைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டான் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டு, ரப்சாக்கே திரும்பிப்போய், அவன் லிப்னாவின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டான். So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

9 இதோ, எத்தியோப்பியா ராஜாவாகிய தீராக்கா உம்மோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணப் புறப்பட்டான் என்று சொல்லக் கேள்விப்பட்டான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் திரும்ப எசேக்கியாவினிடத்துக்கு ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி: And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

10 நீங்கள் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால், எருசலேம் அசீரியா ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லையென்று நீ நம்பியிருக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னை எத்த ஒட்டாதே. Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

11 இதோ, அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் சகல தேசங்களையும் சங்கரித்த செய்தியை நீ கேட்டிருக்கிறாயே, நீ தப்புவாயோ? Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

12 என் பிதாக்கள் அழித்துவிட்ட கோசானையும் ஆரானையும் ரேத்சேப்பையும், தெலாசாரிலிருந்த ஏதேனின் புத்திரரையும் அவர்களுடைய தேவர்கள் தப்புவித்ததுண்டோ? Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?

13 ஆமாத்தின் ராஜாவும், அர்பாத்தின் ராஜாவும், செப்பர்வாயீம் ஏனா ஈவா பட்டணங்களின் ராஜாவும் எங்கே? என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான். Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

14 எசேக்கியா ஸ்தானாபதிகளின் கையிலிருந்து நிருபத்தை வாங்கி வாசித்த பின்பு, அவன் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயத்திற்குப் போய், அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக விரித்து, And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

15 கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: கேருபீன்களின் மத்தியில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் ஒருவரே பூமியின் ராஜ்யங்களுக்கெல்லாம் தேவனானவர்; நீர் வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்கினீர். And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

16 கர்த்தாவே, உமது செவியைச் சாய்த்துக் கேளும்; கர்த்தாவே, நீர் உமது கண்களைத் திறந்துபாரும்; சனகெரிப் ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நிந்திக்கும்படிக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பின வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளும். LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

17 கர்த்தாவே, அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் அந்த ஜாதிகளையும் அவர்கள் தேசத்தையும் நாசமாக்கி, Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

18 அவர்களுடைய தேவர்களை நெருப்பிலே போட்டுவிட்டது மெய்தான்; அவைகள் தேவர்கள் அல்லவே, மனுஷர் கைவேலையான மரமும் கல்லும்தானே; ஆகையால் அவைகளை நிர்த்தூளியாக்கினார்கள். And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

19 இப்போதும் எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, நீர் ஒருவரே தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்று பூமியின் ராஜ்யங்கள் எல்லாம் அறியும்படிக்கு, எங்களை அவன் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சியும் என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான். Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.

20 அப்பொழுது ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா எசேக்கியாவுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பினது: இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால், அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிபின்நிமித்தம் நீ என்னை நோக்கிப் பண்ணின விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டேன். Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

21 அவனைக் குறித்துக் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிற வசனமாவது: சீயோன் குமாரத்தியாகிய கன்னியாஸ்திரீ உன்னை இகழ்ந்து, உன்னைப் பரிகாசம்பண்ணுகிறாள்; எருசலேம் குமாரத்தி உன் பின்னாலே தலையைத் துலுக்குகிறாள். This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

22 யாரை நிந்தித்துத் தூஷித்தாய்? யாருக்கு விரோதமாய் உன் சத்தத்தை உயர்த்தினாய்? நீ இஸ்ரவேலின் பரிசுத்தருக்கு விரோதமாயல்லவோ உன் கண்களை மேட்டிமையாக ஏறெடுத்தாய்? Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

23 உன் ஸ்தானாபதிகளைக் கொண்டு நீ ஆண்டவரை நிந்தித்து: என் இரதங்களின் திரளினாலே நான் மலைகளின் கொடுமுடிகளுக்கும் லீபனோனின் சிகரங்களுக்கும் வந்து ஏறினேன்; அதின் உயரமான கேதுருமரங்களையும், உச்சிதமான தேவதாரி விருட்சங்களையும் நான் வெட்டி, அதின் கடையாந்தரத்; தாபரமட்டும், அதின் செழுமையான வனமட்டும் வருவேன் என்றும், By thy messengers thou hast reproached the LORD, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

24 நான் அந்நியதேசங்களில் கிணறு வெட்டி தண்ணீர் குடித்தேன்; என் உள்ளங்கால்களினால் அரணிப்பான இடங்களின் அகழிகளையெல்லாம் வறளவும் பண்ணினேன் என்றும் சொன்னாய். I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.

25 நான் வெகுகாலத்திற்குமுன் அதை நியமித்து, பூர்வநாட்கள் முதல் அதைத் திட்டம்பண்ணினேன் என்பதை நீ கேட்டதில்லையோ? இப்பொழுது நீ அரணான பட்டணங்களைப் பாழான மண்மேடுகள் ஆக்கும்படிக்கு நானே அதைச் சம்பவிக்கப்பண்ணினேன். Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.

26 அதினாலே அவைகளின் குடிகள் கையிளைத்தவர்களாகி, கலங்கி வெட்கப்பட்டு, வெளியின் பூண்டுக்கும், பச்சிலைக்கும், வீடுகளின்மேல் முளைக்கும் புல்லுக்கும், ஓங்கிவளருமுன் தீய்ந்துபோகும் பயிருக்கும் சமானமானார்கள். Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

27 உன் இருப்பையும், உன் போக்கையும், உன் வரவையும், நீ எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கொந்தளிக்கிறதையும் அறிவேன். But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

28 நீ எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கொந்தளித்து, வீரியம் பேசினது என் செவிகளில் ஏறினபடியினால், நான் என் துறட்டை உன் மூக்கிலும் என் கடிவாளத்தை உன் வாயிலும் போட்டு, நீ வந்தவழியே உன்னைத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டு போவேன் என்று அவனைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லுகிறார். Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

29 உனக்கு அடையாளமாயிருப்பது என்னவென்றால்: இந்த வருஷத்திலே தப்பிப் பயிராகிறதையும், இரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே தானாய் விளைகிறதையும் சாப்பிடுவீர்கள்; மூன்றாம் வருஷத்திலோ விதைத்து அறுத்து, திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களை நாட்டி, அவைகளின் கனிகளைப் புசிப்பீர்கள். And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.

30 யூதா வம்சத்தாரில் தப்பி மீந்திருக்கிறவர்கள் மறுபடியும் கீழே வேர்பற்றி மேலே கனிகொடுப்பார்கள். And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

31 மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்கள் எருசலேமிலும், தப்பினவர்கள் சீயோன் மலையிலும் இருந்து புறப்படுவார்கள்; சேனைகளுடைய கர்த்தரின் வைராக்கியம் இதைச் செய்யும். For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

32 ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் அசீரியா ராஜாவைக்குறித்து: அவன் இந்த நகரத்திற்குள் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை; இதின்மேல் அம்பு எய்வதுமில்லை; இதற்குமுன் கேடகத்தோடே வருவதுமில்லை; இதற்கு எதிராகக் கொத்தளம் போடுவதுமில்லை. Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

33 அவன் இந்த நகரத்திற்குள் பிரவேசியாமல், தான் வந்தவழியே திரும்பிப்போவான். By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

34 என் நிமித்தமும் என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதின் நிமித்தமும் நான் இந்த நகரத்தை இரட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு, இதற்கு ஆதரவாயிருப்பேன் என்பதைக் கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லியனுப்பினான். For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

35 அன்று இராத்திரியில் சம்பவித்தது என்னவென்றால்: கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் புறப்பட்டு, அசீரியரின் பாளயத்தில் லட்சத்தெண்பத்தையாயிரம்பேரைச் சங்கரித்தான்; அதிகாலமே எழுந்திருக்கும் போது, இதோ, அவர்கள் எல்லாரும் செத்த பிரேதங்களாய்க் கிடந்தார்கள். And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

36 அப்பொழுது அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிப் பிரயாணப்பட்டு, திரும்பிப் போய் நினிவேயில் இருந்துவிட்டான். So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

37 அவன் தன் தேவனாகிய நிஸ்ரோகின் கோவிலிலே பணிந்துகொள்ளுகிறபோது, அவன் குமாரராகிய அத்ரமலேக்கும் சரேத்சேரும் அவனைப் பட்டயத்தினால் வெட்டிப்போட்டு, ஆரராத் தேசத்திற்குத் தப்பி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய எசாத்தோன் அவன் பட்டத்திற்கு வந்து அரசாண்டான். And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

1 Raajaavaakiya esekkiyaa athaik kaettapothu, than vasthirangalaik kiliththu, irattu uduththikkonndu, karththarutaiya aalayaththil piravaesiththu, And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

2 Aramanai visaarippukkaaranaakiya eliyaakgeemaiyum, sampirathiyaakiya sepnaavaiyum, aasaariyarkalin moopparaiyum, aamoththin kumaaranaakiya aesaayaa ennum theerkkatharisiyinidaththukku irattu uduththikkonndavarkalaaka anuppinaan. And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

3 Ivarkal avanai Nnokki: intha naal nerukkamum kanntithamum thooshanamum anupavikkira naal; pillaippaeraு Nnokkiyirukkirathu, peravo pelanillai. And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

4 Jeevanulla thaevanai ninthikkumpati aseeriyaa raajaavaakiya than aanndavanaal anuppappatta rapsaakkae sonna vaarththaikalaiyellaam umathu thaevanaakiya Karththar kaettirukkiraar; umathu thaevanaakiya Karththar kaettirukkira vaarththaikalin nimiththam thanndanai seyvaar; aakaiyaal innum meethiyaayirukkiravarkalukkaaka vinnnappanjaெyveeraaka entu esekkiyaa sollachchaொnnaar entarkal. It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that are left.

5 Ivvithamaay esekkiyaa raajaavin ooliyakkaarar aesaayaavinidaththil vanthu sonnaarkal. So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

6 Appoluthu aesaayaa avarkalai Nnokki: aseeriyaa raajaavin ooliyakkaarar ennaith thooshiththathum neer kaettathumaana vaarththaikalinaalae payappadaathaeyum. And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

7 Itho, avan oru seythiyaik kaettu, than thaesaththukkuth thirumpuvatharkaana aaviyai naan avanukkul anuppi, avanai avan thaesaththilae pattayaththaal vilappannnuvaen entu Karththar uraikkiraar enpathai ungal aanndavanidaththil sollungal entan. Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.

8 Aseeriyaa raajaa laageesaivittup purappattan entu kaelvippattu, rapsaakkae thirumpippoy, avan lipnaavinmael yuththampannnukirathaik kanndaan. So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

9 Itho, eththiyoppiyaa raajaavaakiya theeraakkaa ummodu yuththampannnap purappattan entu sollak kaelvippattan; appoluthu avan thirumpa esekkiyaavinidaththukku sthaanaapathikalai anuppi: And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

10 Neengal yoothaavin raajaavaakiya esekkiyaavukkuch sollavaenntiyathu ennavental, Jerusalem aseeriyaa raajaavin kaiyil oppukkodukkappaduvathillaiyentu nee nampiyirukkira un Dhevan unnai eththa ottathae. Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

11 Itho, aseeriyaa raajaakkal sakala thaesangalaiyum sangariththa seythiyai nee kaettirukkiraayae, nee thappuvaayo? Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

12 En pithaakkal aliththuvitta kosaanaiyum aaraanaiyum raethseppaiyum, thelaasaariliruntha aethaenin puththiraraiyum avarkalutaiya thaevarkal thappuviththathunntoo? Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which were in Thelasar?

13 Aamaaththin raajaavum, arpaaththin raajaavum, sepparvaayeem aenaa eevaa pattanangalin raajaavum engae? Entu sollungal entan. Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?

14 Esekkiyaa sthaanaapathikalin kaiyilirunthu nirupaththai vaangi vaasiththa pinpu, avan karththarin aalayaththirkup poy, athaik karththarukku munpaaka viriththu, And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.

15 Karththarai Nnokki: kaerupeenkalin maththiyil vaasampannnukira isravaelin thaevanaakiya karththaavae, neer oruvarae poomiyin raajyangalukkellaam thaevanaanavar; neer vaanaththaiyum poomiyaiyum unndaakkineer. And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

16 Karththaavae, umathu seviyaich saayththuk kaelum; karththaavae, neer umathu kannkalaith thiranthupaarum; sanakerip jeevanulla thaevanai ninthikkumpatikkuch solliyanuppina vaarththaikalaik kaelum. LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

17 Karththaavae, aseeriyaa raajaakkal antha jaathikalaiyum avarkal thaesaththaiyum naasamaakki, Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,

18 Avarkalutaiya thaevarkalai neruppilae pottuvittathu meythaan; avaikal thaevarkal allavae, manushar kaivaelaiyaana maramum kallumthaanae; aakaiyaal avaikalai nirththooliyaakkinaarkal. And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

19 Ippothum engal thaevanaakiya karththaavae, neer oruvarae thaevanaakiya Karththar entu poomiyin raajyangal ellaam ariyumpatikku, engalai avan kaikku neengalaakki iratchiyum entu vinnnappampannnninaan. Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.

20 Appoluthu aamothsin kumaaranaakiya aesaayaa esekkiyaavukkuch solliyanuppinathu: isravaelin thaevanaakiya Karththar uraikkirathu ennavental, aseeriyaa raajaavaakiya sanakeripinnimiththam nee ennai Nnokkip pannnnina vinnnappaththaik kaettaேn. Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

21 Avanaik kuriththuk Karththar sollukira vasanamaavathu: seeyon kumaaraththiyaakiya kanniyaasthiree unnai ikalnthu, unnaip parikaasampannnukiraal; Jerusalem kumaaraththi un pinnaalae thalaiyaith thulukkukiraal. This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.

22 Yaarai ninthiththuth thooshiththaay? Yaarukku virothamaay un saththaththai uyarththinaay? Nee isravaelin Parisuththarukku virothamaayallavo un kannkalai maettimaiyaaka aeraெduththaay? Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

23 Un sthaanaapathikalaik konndu nee aanndavarai ninthiththu: en irathangalin thiralinaalae naan malaikalin kodumutikalukkum leepanonin sikarangalukkum vanthu aerinaen; athin uyaramaana kaethurumarangalaiyum, uchchithamaana thaevathaari virutchangalaiyum naan vetti, athin kataiyaantharath; thaaparamattum, athin selumaiyaana vanamattum varuvaen entum, By thy messengers thou hast reproached the LORD, and hast said, With the multitude of my chariots I am come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon, and will cut down the tall cedar trees thereof, and the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the lodgings of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.

24 Naan anniyathaesangalil kinaraு vetti thannnneer kutiththaen; en ullangaalkalinaal arannippaana idangalin akalikalaiyellaam varalavum pannnninaen entum sonnaay. I have digged and drunk strange waters, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of besieged places.

25 Naan vekukaalaththirkumun athai niyamiththu, poorvanaatkal muthal athaith thittampannnninaen enpathai nee kaettathillaiyo? Ippoluthu nee arannaana pattanangalaip paalaana mannmaedukal aakkumpatikku naanae athaich sampavikkappannnninaen. Hast thou not heard long ago how I have done it, and of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities into ruinous heaps.

26 Athinaalae avaikalin kutikal kaiyilaiththavarkalaaki, kalangi vetkappattu, veliyin poonndukkum, pachchilaikkum, veedukalinmael mulaikkum pullukkum, ongivalarumun theeynthupokum payirukkum samaanamaanaarkal. Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the house tops, and as corn blasted before it be grown up.

27 Un iruppaiyum, un pokkaiyum, un varavaiyum, nee enakku virothamaayk konthalikkirathaiyum arivaen. But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

28 Nee enakku virothamaayk konthaliththu, veeriyam paesinathu en sevikalil aerinapatiyinaal, naan en thurattaை un mookkilum en kativaalaththai un vaayilum pottu, nee vanthavaliyae unnaith thiruppikkonndu povaen entu avanaikkuriththuch sollukiraar. Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

29 Unakku ataiyaalamaayiruppathu ennavental: intha varushaththilae thappip payiraakirathaiyum, iranndaam varushaththilae thaanaay vilaikirathaiyum saappiduveerkal; moontam varushaththilo vithaiththu araுththu, thiraatchaththottangalai naatti, avaikalin kanikalaip pusippeerkal. And this shall be a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruits thereof.

30 Yoothaa vamsaththaaril thappi meenthirukkiravarkal maraுpatiyum geelae vaerpatti maelae kanikoduppaarkal. And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

31 Meethiyaayirukkiravarkal erusalaemilum, thappinavarkal seeyon malaiyilum irunthu purappaduvaarkal; senaikalutaiya karththarin vairaakkiyam ithaich seyyum. For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

32 Aakaiyaal Karththar aseeriyaa raajaavaikkuriththu: avan intha nakaraththirkul piravaesippathillai; ithinmael ampu eyvathumillai; itharkumun kaedakaththotae varuvathumillai; itharku ethiraakak koththalam poduvathumillai. Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

33 Avan intha nakaraththirkul piravaesiyaamal, thaan vanthavaliyae thirumpippovaan. By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

34 En nimiththamum en thaasanaakiya thaaveethin nimiththamum naan intha nakaraththai iratchikkumpatikku, itharku aatharavaayiruppaen enpathaik Karththar uraikkiraar entu solliyanuppinaan. For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

35 Antu iraaththiriyil sampaviththathu ennavental: karththarutaiya thoothan purappattu, aseeriyarin paalayaththil latchaththennpaththaiyaayirampaeraich sangariththaan; athikaalamae elunthirukkum pothu, itho, avarkal ellaarum seththa piraethangalaayk kidanthaarkal. And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

36 Appoluthu aseeriyaa raajaavaakiya sanakerip pirayaanappattu, thirumpip poy ninivaeyil irunthuvittan. So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

37 Avan than thaevanaakiya nisrokin kovililae panninthukollukirapothu, avan kumaararaakiya athramalaekkum saraethserum avanaip pattayaththinaal vettippottu, aararaath thaesaththirkuth thappi otipponaarkal; avan kumaaranaakiya esaaththon avan pattaththirku vanthu arasaanndaan. And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
