தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுடைய புத்திரரில் ஒருவனுக்கு மனைவியாயிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ எலிசாவைப் பார்த்து: உமது அடியானாகிய என் புருஷன் இறந்து போனான்; உமது அடியான் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து நடந்தான் என்பதை அறிவீர்; கடன்கொடுத்தவன் இப்போது என் இரண்டு குமாரரையும் தனக்கு அடிமைகளாக்கிக் கொள்ள வந்தான் என்றான்.

தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுள் ஒருவனுக்கு ஒரு மனைவி இருந்தாள். அந்த தீர்க்கதரிசி மரித்துப்போயிருந்தான். அவள் எலிசாவிடம் வந்து, “என் கணவன் உங்கள் ஊழியனாக இருந்தார். இப்போது மரித்துப்போனார். அவர் கர்த்தரை மதித்ததை நீங்கள் அறிவீர்கள். அவர் ஒருவனிடம் பணம் வாங்கியிருந்தார். அதற்காக இப்போது அந்த ஆள் என் இரண்டு பிள்ளைகளை அடிமையாக்கிக்கொள்ள வந்திருக்கிறான்!” என்று அழுதாள்.
