1 Samuel 9 in Tamil

1 பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தாரில் கீஸ் என்னும் பேருள்ள மகா பராக்கிரமசாலியான ஒரு மனுஷன் இருந்தான்; அவன் பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தானாகிய அபியாவின் மகனான பெகோராத்திற்குப் பிறந்த சேரோரின் புத்திரனாகிய அபீயேலின் குமாரன். Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

2 அவனுக்குச் சவுல் என்னும் பேருள்ள சவுந்தரியமான வாலிபனாகிய ஒரு குமாரன் இருந்தான்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் அவனைப்பார்க்கிலும் சவுந்தரியவான் இல்லை; எல்லா ஜனங்களும் அவன் தோளுக்குக் கீழாயிருக்கத்தக்க உயரமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான். And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

3 சவுலின் தகப்பனாகிய கீசுடைய கழுதைகள் காணாமற்போயிற்று; ஆகையால் கீஸ் தன் குமாரனாகிய சவுலை நோக்கி: நீ வேலைக்காரரில் ஒருவனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, கழுதைகளைத் தேட, புறப்பட்டுப்போ என்றான். And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

4 அப்படியே அவன் எப்பிராயீம் மலைகளையும் சலீஷா நாட்டையும் கடந்துபோனான்; அங்கே அவைகளைக் காணாமல் சாலீம் நாட்டைக்கடந்தார்கள். அங்கேயும் காணவில்லை, பென்யமீன் நாட்டை உருவக்கடந்தும் அவைகளைக் காணவில்லை. And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

5 அவர்கள் சூப் என்னும் நாட்டிற்கு வந்தபோது, சவுல் தன்னோடிருந்த வேலைக்காரனை நோக்கி: என் தகப்பன், கழுதைகளின் மேலுள்ள கவலையைவிட்டு, நமக்காகக் கவலைப்படாதபடிக்குத் திரும்பிப்போவோம் வா என்றான். And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.

6 அதற்கு அவன்: இதோ, இந்தப் பட்டணத்திலே தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் ஒருவர் இருக்கிறார்; அவர் பெரியவர்; அவர் சொல்லுகிறதெல்லாம் தப்பாமல் நடக்கும்; அங்கே போவோம்; ஒரு வேளை அவர் நாம் போகவேண்டிய நம்முடைய வழியை நமக்குத் தெரிவிப்பார் என்றான். And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can show us our way that we should go.

7 அப்பொழுது சவுல் தன் வேலைக்காரனைப் பார்த்து: நாம் போனாலும் அந்த மனுஷனுக்கு என்னத்தைக் கொண்டுபோவோம்; நம்முடைய பைகளில் இருந்த தின்பண்டங்கள் செலவழிந்துபோயிற்று; தேவனுடைய மனுஷனாகிய அவருக்குக் கொண்டு போகத்தக்க காணிக்கை நம்மிடத்தில் ஒன்றும் இல்லையே என்றான். Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?

8 அந்த வேலைக்காரன் பின்னும் சவுலைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, என் கையில் இன்னும் கால்சேக்கல் வெள்ளியிருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் நமக்கு நம்முடைய வழியை அறிவிக்கும் படிக்கு, அதை அவருக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்றான். And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.

(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)

10 அப்பொழுது சவுல் தன் வேலைக்காரனை நோக்கி: நல்லகாரியம் சொன்னாய், போவோம் வா என்றான்; அப்படியே தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் இருந்த அந்தப் பட்டணத்திற்குப் போனார்கள். Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.

11 அவர்கள் பட்டணத்து மேட்டின் வழியாய் ஏறுகிறபோது, தண்ணீர் எடுக்கவந்த பெண்களைக் கண்டு: ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் இங்கே இருக்கிறாரா என்று அவர்களைக் கேட்டார்கள். And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?

12 அதற்கு அவர்கள்: இருக்கிறார்; இதோ, உங்களுக்கு எதிரே இருக்கிறார்; தீவிரமாய்ப் போங்கள்; இன்றைக்கு ஜனங்கள் மேடையில் பலியிடுகிறபடியினால், இன்றையதினம் பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தார். And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:

As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.

14 அவர்கள் பட்டணத்திற்குப் போய், பட்டணத்தின் நடுவே சேர்ந்தபோது, இதோ, சாமுவேல் மேடையின் மேல் ஏறிப்போகிறதற்காக, அவர்களுக்கு எதிரே புறப்பட்டுவந்தான். And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

15 சவுல் வர ஒரு நாளுக்கு முன்னே கர்த்தர் சாமுவேலின் காதுகேட்க: Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

16 நாளை இந்நேரத்திற்குப் பென்யமீன் நாட்டானாகிய ஒரு மனுஷனை உன்னிடத்தில் அனுப்புவேன்; அவனை என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் அதிபதியாக அபிஷேகம் பண்ணக்கடவாய்; அவன் என் ஜனத்தைப் பெலிஸ்தரின் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி ரட்சிப்பான்; என் ஜனத்தின் முறையிடுதல் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து எட்டினபடியினால், நான் அவர்களைக் கடாட்சித்தேன் என்று வெளிப்படுத்தியிருந்தார். To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

17 சாமுவேல் சவுலைக் கண்ட போது, கர்த்தர் அவனிடத்தில்: இதோ, நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்த மனுஷன் இவனே; இவன் தான் என் ஜனத்தை ஆளுவான் என்றார். And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

18 சவுல் நடுவாசலிலே சாமுவேலிடத்தில் வந்து: ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் வீடு எங்கே, சொல்லும் என்று கேட்டான். Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer's house is.

19 சாமுவேல் சவுலுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் நான் தான்; நீ எனக்கு முன்னே மேடையின்மேல் ஏறிப்போ; நீங்கள் இன்றைக்கு என்னோடே போஜனம்பண்ணவேண்டும்; நாளைக்காலமே நான் உன் இருதயத்தில் உள்ளது எல்லாவற்றையும் உனக்கு அறிவித்து, உன்னை அனுப்பிவிடுவேன். And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.

20 மூன்று நாளைக்கு முன்னே காணாமற்போன கழுதைகளைப் பற்றிக் கவலைப்படவேண்டாம்; அவைகள் அகப்பட்டது; இதல்லாமல் சகல இஸ்ரவேலின் அபேட்சையும் யாரை நாடுகிறது? உன்னையும் உன் வீட்டார் அனைவரையும் அல்லவா? என்றான். And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father's house?

21 அப்பொழுது சவுல் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலே சிறிதான பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தான் அல்லவா? பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்துக் குடும்பங்களிலெல்லாம் என் குடும்பம் அற்பமானது அல்லவா? நீர் இப்படிப்பட்ட வார்த்தையை என்னிடத்தில் சொல்வானேன் என்றான். And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

22 சாமுவேல் சவுலையும் அவன் வேலைக்காரனையும் போஜனசாலைக்குள் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களை அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்குள்ளே தலைமையான இடத்திலே வைத்தான்; அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் ஏறக்குறைய முப்பதுபேராயிருந்தார்கள். And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlor, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

23 பின்பு சாமுவேல் சமையற்காரனைப் பார்த்து: நான் உன் கையிலே ஒரு பங்கைக் கொடுத்துவைத்தேனே, அதைக் கொண்டுவந்து வை என்றான். And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.

24 அப்பொழுது சமையற்காரன், ஒரு முன்னந்தொடையையும், அதனோடிருந்ததையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்து, அதை சவுலுக்குமுன் வைத்தான்; அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல்: இதோ, இது உனக்கென்று வைக்கப்பட்டது, இதை உனக்கு முன்பாக வைத்துச் சாப்பிடு; நான் ஜனங்களை விருந்துக்கு அழைத்ததுமுதல், இதுவரைக்கும் இது உனக்காக வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது என்றான்; அப்படியே சவுல் அன்றையதினம் சாமுவேலோடே சாப்பிட்டான். And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.

25 அவர்கள் மேடையிலிருந்து பட்டணத்திற்கு இறங்கிவந்தபின்பு, அவன் மேல்வீட்டிலே சவுலோடே பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தான். And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may show thee the word of God.

1 Penyameen koththiraththaaril gees ennum paerulla makaa paraakkiramasaaliyaana oru manushan irunthaan; avan penyameen koththiraththaanaakiya apiyaavin makanaana pekoraaththirkup pirantha serorin puththiranaakiya apeeyaelin kumaaran. Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

2 Avanukkuch savul ennum paerulla savunthariyamaana vaalipanaakiya oru kumaaran irunthaan; Israel puththiraril avanaippaarkkilum savunthariyavaan illai; ellaa janangalum avan tholukkuk geelaayirukkaththakka uyaramullavanaayirunthaan. And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

3 Savulin thakappanaakiya geesutaiya kaluthaikal kaannaamarpoyittaு; aakaiyaal gees than kumaaranaakiya savulai Nnokki: nee vaelaikkaararil oruvanaik koottikkonndu, kaluthaikalaith thaeda, purappattuppo entan. And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.

4 Appatiyae avan eppiraayeem malaikalaiyum saleeshaa naattaைyum kadanthuponaan; angae avaikalaik kaannaamal saaleem naattaைkkadanthaarkal. Angaeyum kaanavillai, penyameen naattaை uruvakkadanthum avaikalaik kaanavillai. And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

5 Avarkal soop ennum naattirku vanthapothu, savul thannotiruntha vaelaikkaaranai Nnokki: en thakappan, kaluthaikalin maelulla kavalaiyaivittu, namakkaakak kavalaippadaathapatikkuth thirumpippovom vaa entan. And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.

6 Atharku avan: itho, inthap pattanaththilae thaevanutaiya manushan oruvar irukkiraar; avar periyavar; avar sollukirathellaam thappaamal nadakkum; angae povom; oru vaelai avar naam pokavaenntiya nammutaiya valiyai namakkuth therivippaar entan. And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can show us our way that we should go.

7 Appoluthu savul than vaelaikkaaranaip paarththu: naam ponaalum antha manushanukku ennaththaik konndupovom; nammutaiya paikalil iruntha thinpanndangal selavalinthupoyittaு; thaevanutaiya manushanaakiya avarukkuk konndu pokaththakka kaannikkai nammidaththil ontum illaiyae entan. Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?

8 Antha vaelaikkaaran pinnum savulaip paarththu: itho, en kaiyil innum kaalsekkal velliyirukkirathu; thaevanutaiya manushan namakku nammutaiya valiyai arivikkum patikku, athai avarukkuk koduppaen entan. And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.

9 Murkaalaththil isravaelil yaathoruvar thaevanidaththil visaarikkapponaal, njaana thishtikkaaranidaththirkup povom vaarungal enpaarkal; innaalilae theerkkatharisi ennappadukiravan murkaalaththil njaanathirushtikkaaran ennappaduvaan. (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)

10 Appoluthu savul than vaelaikkaaranai Nnokki: nallakaariyam sonnaay, povom vaa entan; appatiyae thaevanutaiya manushan iruntha anthap pattanaththirkup ponaarkal. Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was.

11 Avarkal pattanaththu maettin valiyaay aeraுkirapothu, thannnneer edukkavantha pennkalaik kanndu: njaanathirushtikkaaran ingae irukkiraaraa entu avarkalaik kaettarkal. And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?

12 Atharku avarkal: irukkiraar; itho, ungalukku ethirae irukkiraar; theeviramaayp pongal; intaikku janangal maetaiyil paliyidukirapatiyinaal, intaiyathinam pattanaththirku vanthaar. And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:

13 Neengal pattanaththirkul piravaesiththavudanae, avar maetaiyinmael pojanam pannnappokiratharku munnae avaraik kaannpeerkal; avar varumattum janangal pojanam pannnamaattarkal; paliyittathai avar aaseervathippaar; pinpu alaikkappattavarkal pojanam pannnuvaarkal; udanae pongal; innaeraththilae avaraik kanndukollalaam entarkal. As soon as ye be come into the city, ye shall straightway find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he come, because he doth bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time ye shall find him.

14 Avarkal pattanaththirkup poy, pattanaththin naduvae sernthapothu, itho, saamuvael maetaiyin mael aerippokiratharkaaka, avarkalukku ethirae purappattuvanthaan. And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, for to go up to the high place.

15 Savul vara oru naalukku munnae Karththar saamuvaelin kaathukaetka: Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

16 Naalai innaeraththirkup penyameen naattanaakiya oru manushanai unnidaththil anuppuvaen; avanai en janamaakiya isravaelinmael athipathiyaaka apishaekam pannnakkadavaay; avan en janaththaip pelistharin kaikku neengalaakki ratchippaan; en janaththin muraiyiduthal ennidaththil vanthu ettinapatiyinaal, naan avarkalaik kadaatchiththaen entu velippaduththiyirunthaar. To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

17 Saamuvael savulaik kannda pothu, Karththar avanidaththil: itho, naan unakkuch solliyiruntha manushan ivanae; ivan thaan en janaththai aaluvaan entar. And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

18 Savul naduvaasalilae saamuvaelidaththil vanthu: njaanathirushtikkaaran veedu engae, sollum entu kaettan. Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, where the seer's house is.

19 Saamuvael savulukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka: njaanathirushtikkaaran naan thaan; nee enakku munnae maetaiyinmael aerippo; neengal intaikku ennotae pojanampannnavaenndum; naalaikkaalamae naan un iruthayaththil ullathu ellaavattaைyum unakku ariviththu, unnai anuppividuvaen. And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for ye shall eat with me to day, and to morrow I will let thee go, and will tell thee all that is in thine heart.

20 Moontu naalaikku munnae kaannaamarpona kaluthaikalaip pattik kavalaippadavaenndaam; avaikal akappattathu; ithallaamal sakala isravaelin apaetchaைyum yaarai naadukirathu? Unnaiyum un veettar anaivaraiyum allavaa? Entan. And as for thine asses that were lost three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on thee, and on all thy father's house?

21 Appoluthu savul pirathiyuththaramaaka: naan Israel koththirangalilae sirithaana penyameen koththiraththaan allavaa? Penyameen koththiraththuk kudumpangalilellaam en kudumpam arpamaanathu allavaa? Neer ippatippatta vaarththaiyai ennidaththil solvaanaen entan. And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me?

22 Saamuvael savulaiyum avan vaelaikkaaranaiyum pojanasaalaikkul alaiththukkonndupoy, avarkalai alaikkappattavarkalukkullae thalaimaiyaana idaththilae vaiththaan; alaikkappattavarkal aerakkuraiya muppathupaeraayirunthaarkal. And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlor, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

23 Pinpu saamuvael samaiyarkaaranaip paarththu: naan un kaiyilae oru pangaik koduththuvaiththaenae, athaik konnduvanthu vai entan. And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave thee, of which I said unto thee, Set it by thee.

24 Appoluthu samaiyarkaaran, oru munnanthotaiyaiyum, athanotirunthathaiyum eduththukkonndu vanthu, athai savulukkumun vaiththaan; appoluthu saamuvael: itho, ithu unakkentu vaikkappattathu, ithai unakku munpaaka vaiththuch saappidu; naan janangalai virunthukku alaiththathumuthal, ithuvaraikkum ithu unakkaaka vaikkappattirunthathu entan; appatiyae savul antaiyathinam saamuvaelotae saappittan. And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before thee, and eat: for unto this time hath it been kept for thee since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.

25 Avarkal maetaiyilirunthu pattanaththirku irangivanthapinpu, avan maelveettilae savulotae paesikkonntirunthaan. And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

26 Avarkal athikaalamae kilakku velukkira naeraththil elunthirunthapothu, saamuvael savulai maelveettin mael alaiththu: naan unnai anuppividumpatikku aayaththappadu entan; savul aayaththappattapothu, avanum saamuvaelum iruvarumaaka veliyae purappattarkal. And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

27 Avarkal pattanaththin kataisi mattum irangi vantha pothu, saamuvael savulaip paarththu: vaelaikkaaranai namakku munnae nadanthupokach sol entan; appatiyae avan nadanthu ponaan; ippoluthu naan thaevanutaiya vaarththaiyai unakkuth therivikkumpatikku, nee satte thariththunil entan. And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand thou still a while, that I may show thee the word of God.
