எழுந்திரு, இராத்திரியிலே முதற்சாமத்தில் கூப்பிடு; ஆண்டவரின் சமுகத்தில் உம் இருதயத்தைத் தண்ணீரைப் போல ஊற்றிவிடு; எல்லாத் தெருக்களின் முனையிலும் பசியினால் மூர்ச்சித்துப்போகிற உன் குழந்தைகளின் பிராணனுக்காக உன் கைகளை அவரிடத்திற்கு ஏறெடு.

எழுந்திரு! இரவில் கதறு! இரவின் முதற் சாமத்தில் கதறு! உனது இதயத்தைத் தண்ணீரைப்போன்று ஊற்று! கர்த்தருக்கு முன்னால் உன் இதயத்தை ஊற்று! கர்த்தரிடம் ஜெபம் செய்வதற்கு உன் கைகளை மேலே தூக்கு. உன் குழந்தைகளை வாழவிடும்படி அவரிடம் கேள். பசியினால் மயங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த உனது பிள்ளைகள் வாழும்படி நீ அவரிடம் கேள். நகரத்தின் எல்லா தெருக்களிலும் அவர்கள் பசியால் மயங்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.
