அதற்கு அவர்கள்: எரேமியாவுக்கு விரோதமாக ஆலோசனை செய்வோம் வாருங்கள்; ஆசாரியரிடத்திலே வேதமும், ஞானிகளிடத்திலே ஆலோசனையும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளிடத்திலே வசனமும் ஒழிந்துபோவதில்லை. இவன் வார்த்தைகளை நாம் கவனியாமல், இவனை நாவினாலே வெட்டிப்போடுவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றார்கள்.

பிறகு, எரேமியாவின் பகைவர்கள் சொன்னார்கள், “வாருங்கள் எரேமியாவிற்கு எதிராகத் திட்டங்கள் தீட்ட எங்களை அனுமதியுங்கள். ஆசாரியரால் இயற்றப்படும் சட்டம் பற்றிய போதனைகள் தொலைந்து போகாது. ஞானமுள்ள மனிதரின் ஆலோசனைகள் நம்மோடு கூட இருக்கும். தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் வார்த்தைகளை நாம் இன்னும் வைத்திருப்போம். எனவே அவனைப்பற்றிய பொய் சொல்ல எங்களை விடுங்கள். அது அவனை அழிக்கும். அவன் சொல்லுகிற எதையும் நாங்கள் கவனிக்கமாட்டோம்.”
