Psalm 85 in Tamil

1 கர்த்தாவே, உமது தேசத்தின்மேல் பிரியம் வைத்து, யாக்கோபின் சிறையிருப்பைத் திருப்பினீர். Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

2 உமது ஜனத்தின் அக்கிரமத்தை மன்னித்து, அவர்கள் பாவத்தையெல்லாம் மூடினீர்.(சேலா.) Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

3 உமது உக்கிரத்தையெல்லாம் அடக்கிக்கொண்டு, உமது கோபத்தின் எரிச்சலைவிட்டுத் திரும்பினீர். Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.

4 எங்கள் இரட்சிப்பின் தேவனே, நீர் எங்களைத் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவாரும், எங்கள்மேலுள்ள உமது கோபத்தை ஆறப்பண்ணும். Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

5 என்றைக்கும் எங்கள்மேல் கோபமாயிருப்பீரோ? தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக உமது கோபத்தை நீடித்திருக்கப்பண்ணுவீரோ? Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

6 உமது ஜனங்கள் உம்மில் மகிழ்ந்திருக்கும்படி நீர் எங்களைத் திரும்ப உயிர்ப்பிக்கமாட்டீரோ? Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

7 கர்த்தாவே, உமது கிருபையை எங்களுக்குக் காண்பித்து, உமது இரட்சிப்பை எங்களுக்கு அருளிச்செய்யும். Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

8 கர்த்தராகிய தேவன் விளம்புவதைக் கேட்பேன்; அவர் தம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்கும் தம்முடைய பரிசுத்தவான்களுக்கும் சமாதானம் கூறுவார்; அவர்களோ மதிகேட்டுக்குத் திரும்பாதிருப்பார்களாக. I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

9 நம்முடைய தேசத்தில் மகிமை வாசமாயிருக்கும்படி, அவருடைய இரட்சிப்பு அவருக்குப் பயந்தவர்களுக்குச் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறது. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

10 கிருபையும் சத்தியமும் ஒன்றயொன்று சந்திக்கும், நீதியும் சமாதானமும் ஒன்றையொன்று முத்தஞ்செய்யும். Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11 சத்தியம் பூமியிலிருந்து முளைக்கும், நீதி வானத்திலிருந்து தாழப்பார்க்கும். Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

12 கர்த்தர் நன்மையானதைத் தருவார்; நம்முடைய தேசமும் தன் பலனைக் கொடுக்கும். Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

13 நீதி அவருக்கு முன்னாகச் சென்று, அவருடைய அடிச்சுவடுகளின் வழியிலே நம்மை நிறுத்தும். Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

1 Karththaavae, umathu thaesaththinmael piriyam vaiththu, yaakkopin siraiyiruppaith thiruppineer. Lord, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

2 Umathu janaththin akkiramaththai manniththu, avarkal paavaththaiyellaam mootineer.(selaa.) Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

3 Umathu ukkiraththaiyellaam adakkikkonndu, umathu kopaththin erichchalaivittuth thirumpineer. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.

4 Engal iratchippin thaevanae, neer engalaith thiruppikkonnduvaarum, engalmaelulla umathu kopaththai aarappannnum. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

5 Entaikkum engalmael kopamaayiruppeero? Thalaimurai thalaimuraiyaaka umathu kopaththai neetiththirukkappannnuveero? Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?

6 Umathu janangal ummil makilnthirukkumpati neer engalaith thirumpa uyirppikkamaattiro? Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

7 Karththaavae, umathu kirupaiyai engalukkuk kaannpiththu, umathu iratchippai engalukku arulichcheyyum. Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

8 Karththaraakiya Dhevan vilampuvathaik kaetpaen; avar thammutaiya janangalukkum thammutaiya Parisuththavaankalukkum samaathaanam kooraுvaar; avarkalo mathikaettukkuth thirumpaathiruppaarkalaaka. I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.

9 Nammutaiya thaesaththil makimai vaasamaayirukkumpati, avarutaiya iratchippu avarukkup payanthavarkalukkuch sameepamaayirukkirathu. Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

10 Kirupaiyum saththiyamum ontayontu santhikkum, neethiyum samaathaanamum ontaiyontu muththanjaெyyum. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11 Saththiyam poomiyilirunthu mulaikkum, neethi vaanaththilirunthu thaalappaarkkum. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

12 Karththar nanmaiyaanathaith tharuvaar; nammutaiya thaesamum than palanaik kodukkum. Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.

13 Neethi avarukku munnaakach sentu, avarutaiya atichchuvadukalin valiyilae nammai niraுththum. Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
