Matthew 5 in Tamil

1 அவர் திரளான ஜனங்களைக் கண்டு மலையின் மேல் ஏறினார்; அவர் உட்கார்ந்தபொழுது, அவருடைய சீஷர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள். And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2 அப்பொழுது அவர் தமது வாயைத் திறந்து அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசித்துச் சொன்னது என்னவென்றால்: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3 ஆவியில் எளிமையுள்ளவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; பரலோக ராஜ்யம் அவர்களுடையது. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 துயரப்படுகிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் ஆறுதலடைவார்கள். Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 சாந்தகுணமுள்ளவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் பூமியைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளுவார்கள். Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 நீதியின்மேல் பசிதாகமுள்ளவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் திருப்தியடைவார்கள். Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 இரக்கமுடையவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் இரக்கம் பெறுவார்கள். Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 இருதயத்தில் சுத்தமுள்ளவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் தேவனைத் தரிசிப்பார்கள். Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 சமாதானம் பண்ணுகிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய புத்திரர் என்னப்படுவார்கள். Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 நீதியினிமித்தம் துன்பப்படுகிறவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; பரலோக ராஜ்யம் அவர்களுடையது. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 என்னிமித்தம் உங்களை நிந்தித்துத் துன்பப்படுத்தி, பலவித தீமையான மொழிகளையும் உங்கள்பேரில் பொய்யாய்ச் சொல்வார்களானால் பாக்கியவான்களாயிருப்பீர்கள். Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, களிகூருங்கள்; பரலோகத்தில் உங்கள் பலன் மிகுதியாயிருக்கும்; உங்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் அப்படியே துன்பப்படுத்தினார்களே. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 நீங்கள் பூமிக்கு உப்பாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்; உப்பானது சாரமற்றுப்போனால், எதினால் சாரமாக்கப்படும்? வெளியே கொட்டப்படுவதற்கும், மனுஷரால் மிதிக்கப்படுவதற்குமே ஒழிய வேறொன்றுக்கும் உதவாது. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 நீங்கள் உலகத்துக்கு வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்; மலையின் மேல் இருக்கிற பட்டணம் மறைந்திருக்கமாட்டாது. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 விளக்கைக் கொளுத்தி மரக்காலால் மூடிவைக்காமல், விளக்குத் தண்டின்மேல் வைப்பார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அது வீட்டிலுள்ள யாவருக்கும் வெளிச்சம் கொடுக்கும். Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 இவ்விதமாக மனுஷர் உங்கள் நற்கிரியைகளைக்கண்டு, பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற உங்கள் பிதாவை மகிமைப்படுத்தும்படி, உங்கள் வெளிச்சம் அவர்கள் முன்பாகப் பிரகாசிக்கக்கடவது. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

17 நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தையானாலும் தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களையானாலும் அழிக்கிறதற்கு வந்தேன் என்று எண்ணிக்கொள்ளாதேயுங்கள்; அழிக்கிறதற்கு அல்ல, நிறைவேற்றுகிறதற்கே வந்தேன். Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 வானமும் பூமியும் ஒழிந்துபோனாலும், நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலுள்ளதெல்லாம் நிறைவேறுமளவும், அதில் ஒரு எழுத்தாகிலும், ஒரு எழுத்தின் உறுப்பாகிலும் ஒழிந்து போகாது என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன். For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 ஆகையால், இந்தக் கற்பனைகள் எல்லாவற்றிலும் சிறிதொன்றையாகிலும் மீறி, அவ்விதமாய் மனுஷருக்குப் போதிக்கிறவன் பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் எல்லாரிலும் சிறியவன் என்னப்படுவான்; இவைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு போதிக்கிறவன் பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் எல்லாரிலும் பெரியவன் என்னப்படுவான். Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 வேதபாரகர் பரிசேயர் என்பவர்களுடைய நீதியிலும் உங்கள் நீதி அதிகமாயிராவிட்டால், பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிக்கமாட்டீர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன். For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

21 கொலை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக என்பதும், கொலைசெய்கிறவன் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு ஏதுவாயிருப்பான் என்பதும், பூர்வத்தாருக்கு உரைக்கப்பட்டதென்று கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; தன் சகோதரனை நியாயமில்லாமல் கோபித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு ஏதுவாயிருப்பான்; தன் சகோதரனை வீணனென்று சொல்லுகிறவன் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தீர்ப்புக்கு ஏதுவாயிருப்பான்; மூடனே என்று சொல்லுகிறவன் எரிநரகத்திற்கு ஏதுவாயிருப்பான். But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

23 ஆகையால் நீ பலிபீடத்தினிடத்தில் உன் காணிக்கையைச் செலுத்த வந்து, உன் பேரில் உன் சகோதரனுக்குக் குறை உண்டென்று அங்கே நினைவு கூருவாயாகில், Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 அங்கேதானே பலிபீடத்தின் முன் உன் காணிக்கையை வைத்துவிட்டுப் போய், முன்பு உன் சகோதரனோடே ஒப்புரவாகி, பின்பு வந்து உன் காணிக்கையைச் செலுத்து. Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

25 எதிராளி உன்னை நியாயாதிபதியினிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடாமலும், நியாயாதிபதி உன்னைச் சேவகனிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடாமலும், நீ சிறைச்சாலையில் வைக்கப்படாமலும் இருக்கும்படியாக, நீ உன் எதிராளியோடு வழியில் இருக்கும்போதே சீக்கிரமாய் அவனுடனே நல்மனம் பொருந்து. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

26 பொருந்தாவிட்டால், நீ ஒரு காசும் குறைவின்றிக் கொடுத்துத் தீர்க்குமட்டும் அவ்விடத்திலிருந்து புறப்படமாட்டாய் என்று, மெய்யாகவே உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன். Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

27 விபசாரஞ் செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக என்பது பூர்வத்தாருக்கு உரைக்கப்பட்டதென்று கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

28 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் ஒரு ஸ்திரீயை இச்சையோடு பார்க்கிற எவனும் தன் இருதயத்தில் அவளோடே விபசாரஞ்செய்தாயிற்று. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

29 உன் வலது கண் உனக்கு இடறலுண்டாக்கினால், அதைப் பிடுங்கி எறிந்து போடு; உன் சரீரம் முழுவதும் நரகத்தில் தள்ளப்படுவதைப்பார்க்கிலும், உன் அவயவங்களில் ஒன்று கெட்டுப்போவது உனக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும். And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

30 உன் வலது கை உனக்கு இடறலுண்டாக்கினால், அதைத் தறித்து எறிந்து போடு; உன் சரீரம் முழுவதும் நரகத்தில் தள்ளப்படுவதைப்பார்க்கிலும், உன் அவயவங்களில் ஒன்று கெட்டுப்போவது உனக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும். And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

31 தன் மனைவியைத் தள்ளிவிடுகிற எவனும் தள்ளுதற்சீட்டை அவளுக்கு கொடுக்கக்கடவன் என்று உரைக்கப்பட்டது. It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

32 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் வேசித்தன முகாந்தரத்தினாலொழிய தன் மனைவியைத் தள்ளிவிடுகிறவன், அவளை விபசாரஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணுகிறவனாயிருப்பான்; அப்படித் தள்ளிவிட்டவளை விவாகம் பண்ணுகிறவனும் விபசாரஞ்செய்கிறவனாயிருப்பான். But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

33 அன்றியும், பொய்யாணையிடாமல் உன் ஆணைகளைக் கர்த்தர் முன்னிலையாய்ச் செலுத்துவாயாக என்று பூர்வத்தாருக்கு உரைக்கப்பட்டதென்று கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

34 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் பரிச்சேதம் சத்தியம்பண்ணவேண்டாம்; வானத்தின் பேரில் சத்தியம்பண்ணவேண்டாம், அது தேவனுடைய சிங்காசனம். But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

35 பூமியின் பேரிலும் சத்தியம்பண்ணவேண்டாம், அது தேவனுடைய பாதபடி; எருசலேமின் பேரிலும் சத்தியம்பண்ணவேண்டாம், அது மகாராஜாவின் நகரம். Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

36 உன் சிரசின் பேரிலும் சத்தியம்பண்ணவேண்டாம், அதின் ஒரு மயிரையாவது வெண்மையாக்கவும் கறுப்பாக்கவும் உன்னால் கூடாதே. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

37 உள்ளதை உள்ளதென்றும் இல்லதை இல்லதென்றும் சொல்லுங்கள்; இதற்கு மிஞ்சினது தீமையினால் உண்டாயிருக்கும். But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

38 கண்ணுக்குக் கண், பல்லுக்கு பல் என்று உரைக்கப்பட்டதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் தீமையோடு எதிர்த்து நிற்கவேண்டாம்; ஒருவன் உன்னை வலது கன்னத்தில் அறைந்தால், அவனுக்கு மறு கன்னத்தையும் திருப்பிக் கொடு. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

40 உன்னோடு வழக்காடி உன் வஸ்திரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டுமென்றிருக்கிறவனுக்கு உன் அங்கியையும் விட்டுவிடு. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

41 ஒருவன் உன்னை ஒரு மைல் தூரம் வரப் பலவந்தம் பண்ணினால், அவனோடு இரண்டு மைல் தூரம் போ. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

42 உன்னிடத்தில் கேட்கிறவனுக்குக் கொடு, உன்னிடத்தில் கடன் வாங்க விரும்புகிறவனுக்கு முகங்கோணாதே. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

43 உனக்கடுத்தவனைச் சிநேகித்து, உன் சத்துருவைப் பகைப்பாயாக என்று சொல்லப்பட்டதைக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன், உங்கள் சத்துருக்களைச் சிநேகியுங்கள்; உங்களைச் சபிக்கிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதியுங்கள்; உங்களைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்யுங்கள்; உங்களை நிந்திக்கிறவர்களுக்காகவும் உங்களைத் துன்பப்படுத்துகிறவர்களுக்காகவும் ஜெபம் பண்ணுங்கள். But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 இப்படிச் செய்வதினால் நீங்கள் பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற உங்கள் பரம பிதாவுக்கு புத்திரராயிருப்பீர்கள்; அவர் தீயோர் மேலும் நல்லோர் மேலும் தமது சூரியனை உதிக்கப்பண்ணி, நீதியுள்ளவர்கள் மேலும் அநீதியுள்ளவர்கள் மேலும் மழையைப் பெய்யப்பண்ணுகிறார். That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 உங்களைச் சிநேகிக்கிறவர்களையே நீங்கள் சிநேகிப்பீர்களானால், உங்களுக்குப் பலன் என்ன? ஆயக்காரரும் அப்படிச்செய்கிறார்களல்லவா? For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 உங்கள் சகோதரரைமாத்திரம் வாழ்த்துவீர்களானால், நீங்கள் விசேஷித்துச் செய்கிறது என்ன? ஆயக்காரரும் அப்படிச்செய்கிறார்களல்லவா? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 ஆகையால், பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற உங்கள் பிதா பூரண சற்குணராயிருக்கிறதுபோல, நீங்களும் பூரண சற்குணராயிருக்கக்கடவீர்கள். Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

1 Avar thiralaana janangalaik kanndu malaiyin mael aerinaar; avar utkaarnthapoluthu, avarutaiya seesharkal avaridaththil vanthaarkal. And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:

2 Appoluthu avar thamathu vaayaith thiranthu avarkalukku upathaesiththuch sonnathu ennavental: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3 Aaviyil elimaiyullavarkal paakkiyavaankal; paraloka raajyam avarkalutaiyathu. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Thuyarappadukiravarkal paakkiyavaankal; avarkal aaraுthalataivaarkal. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Saanthakunamullavarkal paakkiyavaankal; avarkal poomiyaich suthanthariththukkolluvaarkal. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Neethiyinmael pasithaakamullavarkal paakkiyavaankal; avarkal thirupthiyataivaarkal. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Irakkamutaiyavarkal paakkiyavaankal; avarkal irakkam peraுvaarkal. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8 Iruthayaththil suththamullavarkal paakkiyavaankal; avarkal thaevanaith tharisippaarkal. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Samaathaanam pannnukiravarkal paakkiyavaankal; avarkal thaevanutaiya puththirar ennappaduvaarkal. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Neethiyinimiththam thunpappadukiravarkal paakkiyavaankal; paraloka raajyam avarkalutaiyathu. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Ennimiththam ungalai ninthiththuth thunpappaduththi, palavitha theemaiyaana molikalaiyum ungalpaeril poyyaaych solvaarkalaanaal paakkiyavaankalaayiruppeerkal. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Santhoshappattu, kalikoorungal; paralokaththil ungal palan mikuthiyaayirukkum; ungalukku munniruntha theerkkatharisikalaiyum appatiyae thunpappaduththinaarkalae. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Neengal poomikku uppaayirukkireerkal; uppaanathu saaramattaுpponaal, ethinaal saaramaakkappadum? Veliyae kottappaduvatharkum, manusharaal mithikkappaduvatharkumae oliya vaerontukkum uthavaathu. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Neengal ulakaththukku velichchamaayirukkireerkal; malaiyin mael irukkira pattanam marainthirukkamaattathu. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Vilakkaik koluththi marakkaalaal mootivaikkaamal, vilakkuth thanntinmael vaippaarkal; appoluthu athu veettilulla yaavarukkum velichcham kodukkum. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Ivvithamaaka manushar ungal narkiriyaikalaikkanndu, paralokaththilirukkira ungal pithaavai makimaippaduththumpati, ungal velichcham avarkal munpaakap pirakaasikkakkadavathu. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

17 Niyaayappiramaanaththaiyaanaalum theerkkatharisanangalaiyaanaalum alikkiratharku vanthaen entu ennnnikkollaathaeyungal; alikkiratharku alla, niraivaettaுkiratharkae vanthaen. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 Vaanamum poomiyum olinthuponaalum, niyaayappiramaanaththilullathellaam niraivaeraுmalavum, athil oru eluththaakilum, oru eluththin uraுppaakilum olinthu pokaathu entu meyyaakavae ungalukkuch sollukiraேn. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Aakaiyaal, inthak karpanaikal ellaavattilum sirithontaiyaakilum meeri, avvithamaay manusharukkup pothikkiravan paralokaraajyaththil ellaarilum siriyavan ennappaduvaan; ivaikalaik kaikkonndu pothikkiravan paralokaraajyaththil ellaarilum periyavan ennappaduvaan. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 Vaethapaarakar pariseyar enpavarkalutaiya neethiyilum ungal neethi athikamaayiraavittal, paralokaraajyaththil piravaesikkamaattirkal entu ungalukkuch sollukiraேn. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

21 Kolai seyyaathiruppaayaaka enpathum, kolaiseykiravan niyaayaththeerppukku aethuvaayiruppaan enpathum, poorvaththaarukku uraikkappattathentu kaelvippattirukkireerkal. Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 Naan ungalukkuch sollukiraேn; than sakotharanai niyaayamillaamal kopiththukkollukiravan niyaayaththeerppukku aethuvaayiruppaan; than sakotharanai veenanentu sollukiravan aalosanaich sangaththeerppukku aethuvaayiruppaan; moodanae entu sollukiravan erinarakaththirku aethuvaayiruppaan. But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

23 Aakaiyaal nee palipeedaththinidaththil un kaannikkaiyaich seluththa vanthu, un paeril un sakotharanukkuk kurai unndentu angae ninaivu kooruvaayaakil, Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Angaethaanae palipeedaththin mun un kaannikkaiyai vaiththuvittup poy, munpu un sakotharanotae oppuravaaki, pinpu vanthu un kaannikkaiyaich seluththu. Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

25 Ethiraali unnai niyaayaathipathiyinidaththil oppukkodaamalum, niyaayaathipathi unnaich sevakanidaththil oppukkodaamalum, nee siraichchaாlaiyil vaikkappadaamalum irukkumpatiyaaka, nee un ethiraaliyodu valiyil irukkumpothae seekkiramaay avanudanae nalmanam porunthu. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

26 Porunthaavittal, nee oru kaasum kuraivintik koduththuth theerkkumattum avvidaththilirunthu purappadamaattay entu, meyyaakavae unakkuch sollukiraேn. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

27 Vipasaaranj seyyaathiruppaayaaka enpathu poorvaththaarukku uraikkappattathentu kaelvippattirukkireerkal. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

28 Naan ungalukkuch sollukiraேn oru sthireeyai ichchaைyodu paarkkira evanum than iruthayaththil avalotae vipasaaranjaெythaayittaு. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

29 Un valathu kann unakku idaralunndaakkinaal, athaip pidungi erinthu podu; un sareeram muluvathum narakaththil thallappaduvathaippaarkkilum, un avayavangalil ontu kettuppovathu unakku nalamaayirukkum. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

32 Naan ungalukkuch sollukiraேn vaesiththana mukaantharaththinaaloliya than manaiviyaith thallividukiravan, avalai vipasaaranjaெyyappannnukiravanaayiruppaan; appatith thallivittavalai vivaakam pannnukiravanum vipasaaranjaெykiravanaayiruppaan. But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

33 Antiyum, poyyaannaiyidaamal un aannaikalaik Karththar munnilaiyaaych seluththuvaayaaka entu poorvaththaarukku uraikkappattathentu kaelvippattirukkireerkal. Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

34 Naan ungalukkuch sollukiraேn parichchaேtham saththiyampannnavaenndaam; vaanaththin paeril saththiyampannnavaenndaam, athu thaevanutaiya singaasanam. But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

35 Poomiyin paerilum saththiyampannnavaenndaam, athu thaevanutaiya paathapati; erusalaemin paerilum saththiyampannnavaenndaam, athu makaaraajaavin nakaram. Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

36 Un sirasin paerilum saththiyampannnavaenndaam, athin oru mayiraiyaavathu vennmaiyaakkavum karaுppaakkavum unnaal koodaathae. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

37 Ullathai ullathentum illathai illathentum sollungal; itharku minjinathu theemaiyinaal unndaayirukkum. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

38 Kannnukkuk kann, pallukku pal entu uraikkappattathaik kaelvippattirukkireerkal. Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39 Naan ungalukkuch sollukiraேn theemaiyodu ethirththu nirkavaenndaam; oruvan unnai valathu kannaththil arainthaal, avanukku maraு kannaththaiyum thiruppik kodu. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

40 Unnodu valakkaati un vasthiraththai eduththukkollavaenndumentirukkiravanukku un angiyaiyum vittuvidu. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

41 Oruvan unnai oru mail thooram varap palavantham pannnninaal, avanodu iranndu mail thooram po. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

42 Unnidaththil kaetkiravanukkuk kodu, unnidaththil kadan vaanga virumpukiravanukku mukangaோnnaathae. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

43 Unakkaduththavanaich sinaekiththu, un saththuruvaip pakaippaayaaka entu sollappattathaik kaelvippattirukkireerkal. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44 Naan ungalukkuch sollukiraேn, ungal saththurukkalaich sinaekiyungal; ungalaich sapikkiravarkalai aaseervathiyungal; ungalaip pakaikkiravarkalukku nanmai seyyungal; ungalai ninthikkiravarkalukkaakavum ungalaith thunpappaduththukiravarkalukkaakavum Jebam pannnungal. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 Ippatich seyvathinaal neengal paralokaththilirukkira ungal parama pithaavukku puththiraraayiruppeerkal; avar theeyor maelum nallor maelum thamathu sooriyanai uthikkappannnni, neethiyullavarkal maelum aneethiyullavarkal maelum malaiyaip peyyappannnukiraar. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 Ungalaich sinaekikkiravarkalaiyae neengal sinaekippeerkalaanaal, ungalukkup palan enna? Aayakkaararum appatichcheykiraarkalallavaa? For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 Ungal sakothararaimaaththiram vaalththuveerkalaanaal, neengal viseshiththuch seykirathu enna? Aayakkaararum appatichcheykiraarkalallavaa? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 Aakaiyaal, paralokaththilirukkira ungal pithaa poorana sarkunaraayirukkirathupola, neengalum poorana sarkunaraayirukkakkadaveerkal. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
