உங்கள் குமாரத்திகள் வேசித்தனம் செய்கிறதினிமித்தமும், உங்கள் மருமக்கள்மார் விபசாரம் செய்கிறதினிமித்தமும், நான் அவர்களைத் தண்டியாமலிருப்பேனோ? அவர்கள் விலகி வேசிகளோடே கூடப்போய்த் தாசிகளோடே பலியிடுகிறார்கள்; உணர்வில்லாத ஜனங்கள் அதினால் சிக்குண்டு விழுவார்கள்.

“நான் உங்கள் மகள்கள் வேசிகளைப் போன்று நடந்துக்கொள்வதையும் உங்கள் மருமகள்கள் விபச்சாரம் செய்வதையும் குற்றம் சொல்லமாட்டேன். ஆண்கள் போய் வேசிகளோடு படுத்துக்கொள்கின்றார்கள். அவர்கள் கோவில் வேசிகளோடு பலிகள் இடுகின்றார்கள். எனவே அம்முட்டாள் ஜனங்கள் தம்மைத்தாமே அழித்துகொள்கின்றார்கள்.

Ungal kumaaraththikal vaesiththanam seykirathinimiththamum, ungal marumakkalmaar vipasaaram seykirathinimiththamum, naan avarkalaith thanntiyaamaliruppaeno? Avarkal vilaki vaesikalotae koodappoyth thaasikalotae paliyidukiraarkal; unarvillaatha janangal athinaal sikkunndu viluvaarkal.

I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.

I will not punish your daughters when they play the harlot, nor your brides when they commit adultery; for `the men' themselves go apart with harlots, and they sacrifice with the prostitutes; and the people that doth not understand shall be overthrown.
