மிகுந்த தர்க்கம் உண்டானபோது, பேதுரு எழுந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: சகோதரரே நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறபடி புறஜாதியார் என்னுடைய வாயினாலே சுவிசேஷ வசனத்தைக் கேட்டு விசுவாசிக்கும்படி தேவன் அநேக நாட்களுக்கு முன்னே உங்களில் ஒருவனாகிய என்னைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

நீண்ட விவாதம் நடந்தது. பேதுரு எழுந்து அவர்களை நோக்கி, “சகோதரர்களே, தொடக்கக் காலத்தில் நிகழ்ந்தவற்றை நீங்கள் நினைவுகூருகிறீர்கள் என்பது எனக்குத் தெரியும். யூதரல்லாத மக்களுக்கு நற்செய்தியைப் போதனை செய்வதற்கு அப்போது உங்களுக்கிடையிலிருந்து தேவன் என்னைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தார். அவர்கள் என் மூலமாக நற்செய்தியைக் கேட்டு விசுவாசம் வைத்தனர்.
