1 தாவீதுடைய கடைசி வார்த்தைகள் மேன்மையாய் உயர்த்தப்பட்டு, யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனால் அபிஷேகம் பெற்று, இஸ்ரவேலின் சங்கீதங்களை இன்பமாய்ப்பாடின ஈசாயின் குமாரனாகிய தாவீது என்னும் புருஷன் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்; Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

2 கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் என்னைக்கொண்டு பேசினார்; அவருடைய வசனம் என்னுடைய நாவில் இருந்தது. The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

3 இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனும் இஸ்ரவேலின் கன்மலையுமானவர் எனக்குச் சொல்லி உரைத்ததாவது: நீதிபரராய் மனுஷரை ஆண்டு, தெய்வபயமாய்த் துரைத்தனம்பண்ணுகிறவர் இருப்பார். The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

4 அவர் காலையில் மந்தாரமில்லாமல் உதித்து, மழைக்குப்பிற்பாடு தன் காந்தியினால் புல்லைப் பூமியிலிருந்து முளைக்கப்பண்ணுகிற சூரியனுடைய விடியற்கால வெளிச்சத்தைப்போல இருப்பார் என்றார். And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.

5 என்னுடைய வீடு தேவனிடத்தில் இப்படியிராதோ? சகலமும் திட்டம்பண்ணப்பட்டிருக்கிற நிச்சயமான நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையை என்னுடன் அவர் செய்திருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் என்னுடைய எல்லா ரட்சிப்பும் எல்லா வாஞ்சையும் வளர்ந்தோங்கச் செய்யாரோ? Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

6 பேலியாளின் மக்கள் அனைவருமோ, கையினால் பிடிக்கப்படக் கூடாததாய் எறிந்துபோடப்படவேண்டிய முள்ளுக்குச் சமமானவர்கள். But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

7 அவைகளை ஒருவன் தொடப்போனால், இருப்பாயுதத்தையும் ஈட்டித்தாங்கையும் கெட்டியாய்ப் பிடித்துகொள்ளவேண்டும்; அவைகள் இருக்கிற இடத்தில்தானே அக்கினியினால் முற்றும் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படும் என்றான். But the man that shall touch them must be fenced with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in the same place.

8 தாவீதுக்கு இருந்த பராக்கிரமசாலிகளின் நாமங்களாவன: தக்கெமோனியின் குமாரனாகிய யோசேப்பாசெபெத் என்பவன் சேர்வைக்காரரின் தலைவன்; இவன் எண்ணூறுபேர்களின்மேல் விழுந்து அவர்களை ஒருமிக்க வெட்டிப்போட்ட அதீனோஏஸ்னி ஊரானானவன். These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: The Tachmonite that sat in the seat, chief among the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite: he lift up his spear against eight hundred, whom he slew at one time.

He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of lentils: and the people fled from the Philistines.

12 இவன் அந்த நிலத்தின் நடுவிலே நின்று அதைக் காப்பாற்றி, பெலிஸ்தரை மடங்கடித்துப்போட்டான்; அதனால் கர்த்தர் பெரிய ரட்சிப்பை நடப்பித்தார். But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.

13 முப்பது தலைவருக்குள்ளே இந்தமூன்றுபேரும் அறுப்புநாளிலே அதுல்லாம் கெபியிலே தாவீதிடத்தில் போயிருந்தார்கள்; பெலிஸ்தரின் தண்டு ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பாளயமிறங்கினபோது, And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.

16 அப்பொழுது இந்த மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும் பெலிஸ்தரின் பாளயத்திலே துணிந்து புகுந்துபோய், பெத்லகேமின் ஒலிமுகவாசலில் இருக்கிற கிணற்றிலே தண்ணீர் மொண்டு, தாவீதினிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவன் அதைக் குடிக்க மனதில்லாமல் அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஊற்றிப்போட்டு: And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

17 கர்த்தாவே, தங்கள் பிராணனை எண்ணாமல் போய்வந்த அந்த மனுஷரின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்கும் இந்தச்செயல் எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக என்றுசொல்லி, அதைக் குடிக்க மனதில்லாதிருந்தான்; இப்படி இந்த மூன்று பராக்கிரமசாலிகளும் செய்தார்கள். And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:

23 முப்பதுபேரிலும் இவன் மேன்மையுள்ளவன்; ஆனாலும் அந்த முந்தின மூன்றுபேருக்கும் இவன் சமானமானவனல்ல; இவனைத் தாவீது தன் மெய்க்காவலருக்குத் தலைவனாக வைத்தான். He was more honorable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.

26 பல்தியனாகிய ஏலெஸ், இக்கேசின் குமாரனாகிய ஈரா என்னும் தெக்கோவியன். Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

27 ஆனதோத்தியனாகிய அபியேசர், ஊசாத்தியனாகிய மெபுன்னாயி, Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

28 அகோகியனாகிய சல்மோன், நெத்தோபாத்தியனாகிய மகராயி, Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

29 பானாவின் குமாரனாகிய ஏலேப் என்னும் நெத்தோபாத்தியன், பென்யமீன் புத்திரரின் கிபியா ஊரானாகிய ரிபாயின் குமாரன் இத்தாயி, Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,

30 பிரத்தோனியனாகிய பெனாயா, காகாஸ் நீரோடைகளின் தேசத்தானாகிய ஈத்தாயி, Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,

31 அர்பாத்தியனாகிய அபிஅல்பொன், பருமியனாகிய அஸ்மாவேத், Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,

32 சால்போனியனாகிய எலியூபா, யாசேனின் குமாரரில் யோனத்தான் என்பவன். Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,

33 ஆராரியனாகிய சம்மா, சாராரின் குமாரனாகிய அகியாம் என்னும் ஆராரியன், Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Hararite,

34 மாகாத்தியனின் குமாரனாகிய அகஸ்பாயிம் மகன் எலிப்பெலேத், கீலோனியனாகிய அகித்தோப்பேலின் குமாரன் எலியாம் என்பவன். Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maachathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,

35 கர்மேலியனாகிய எஸ்ராயி, அர்பியனாகிய பாராயி, Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,

36 சோபா ஊரானாகிய நாத்தானின் குமாரன் ஈகால், காதியனாகிய பானி, Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

37 அம்மோனியனாகிய சேலேக், செருயாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாபின் ஆயுததாரியான பெரோத்தியனாகிய நகராய், Zelek the Ammonite, Nahari the Beerothite, armourbearer to Joab the son of Zeruiah,

38 இத்ரியனாகிய ஈரா, இத்ரியனாகிய காரேப், Ira an Ithrite, Gareb an Ithrite,

39 ஏத்தியனாகிய உரியா என்பவர்களே; ஆக முப்பத்தேழுபேர். Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.

1 Davidtaiya kataisi vaarththaikal maenmaiyaay uyarththappattu, yaakkoputaiya thaevanaal apishaekam pettaு, isravaelin sangaீthangalai inpamaayppaatina eesaayin kumaaranaakiya David ennum purushan sollukirathu ennavental; Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,

2 Karththarutaiya Aaviyaanavar ennaikkonndu paesinaar; avarutaiya vasanam ennutaiya naavil irunthathu. The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

3 Isravaelin thaevanum isravaelin kanmalaiyumaanavar enakkuch solli uraiththathaavathu: neethipararaay manusharai aanndu, theyvapayamaayth thuraiththanampannnukiravar iruppaar. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

4 Avar kaalaiyil manthaaramillaamal uthiththu, malaikkuppirpaadu than kaanthiyinaal pullaip poomiyilirunthu mulaikkappannnukira sooriyanutaiya vitiyarkaala velichchaththaippola iruppaar entar. 5 Ennutaiya veedu thaevanidaththil ippatiyiraatho? Sakalamum thittampannnappattirukkira nichchayamaana niththiya udanpatikkaiyai ennudan avar seythirukkiraar; aathalaal ennutaiya ellaa ratchippum ellaa vaanjaiyum valarnthongach seyyaaro? Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

6 Paeliyaalin makkal anaivarumo, kaiyinaal pitikkappadak koodaathathaay erinthupodappadavaenntiya mullukkuch samamaanavarkal. But the sons of Belial shall be all of them as thorns thrust away, because they cannot be taken with hands:

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:

10 Ivan elumpith than kaisaliththu, than kai pattayaththodu ottikkollumattum pelistharai vettinaan; antaiyathinam Karththar periya ratchippai nadappiththaar; janangal kollaiyidamaaththiram avanaip pinsentarkal. He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.

11 Moontavathu, aakaeyin kumaaranaakiya sammaa ennum aaraariyan; siraுpayaraு niraintha vayaliruntha idaththilae pelisthar aeraalamaayk kooti, janangal pelistharaik kanndu odukirapaethu, And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. 12 Ivan antha nilaththin naduvilae nintu athaik kaappaatti, pelistharai madangatiththuppottan; athanaal Karththar periya ratchippai nadappiththaar. But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.

13 Muppathu thalaivarukkullae inthamoontupaerum araுppunaalilae athullaam kepiyilae thaaveethidaththil poyirunthaarkal; pelistharin thanndu reppaayeem pallaththaakkilae paalayamiranginapothu, And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam: and the troop of the Philistines pitched in the valley of Rephaim.

14 David arannaana oru idaththil irunthaan; appoluthu pelistharin thaannaiyam pethlakaemilae irunthathu. And David was then in an hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

15 David pethlakaemin olimukavaasalil irukkira kinattin thannnneerinmael aavalkonndu: en thaakaththirkuk konjan thannnneer konnduvarukiravan yaar entan. And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!

16 Appoluthu intha moontu paraakkiramasaalikalum pelistharin paalayaththilae thunninthu pukunthupoy, pethlakaemin olimukavaasalil irukkira kinattilae thannnneer monndu, thaaveethinidaththil konnduvanthaarkal; aanaalum avan athaik kutikka manathillaamal athaik karththarukkentu oottippottu: And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.

17 Karththaavae, thangal piraananai ennnnaamal poyvantha antha manusharin iraththaththaik kutikkum inthachcheyal enakkuth thooramaayiruppathaaka entusolli, athaik kutikka manathillaathirunthaan; ippati intha moontu paraakkiramasaalikalum seythaarkal. And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief among three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred, and slew them, and had the name among three.

19 Intha moontupaerkalil avan maenmaiyullavanaayirunthathinaalallavo, avarkalil thalaivanaanaan; aanaalum antha munthina moontu paerukku avan samamaanavan alla. Was he not most honorable of three? therefore he was their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the first three.

20 Paraakkiramasaaliyaakiya yoythaavin kumaaranum kapseyael ooraanumaakiya penaayaavum seykaikalil vallavanaayirunthaan; avan movaap thaesaththin iranndu valumaiyaana singangalaik kontathumallaamal, uraintha malaikaalaththil avan irangippoy, orukepikkul iruntha oru singaththaiyum kontupottan. 21 Avan payangararoopamaana oru ekipthiyanaiyum kontupottan; antha ekipthiyan kaiyil oru eettiyirukkaiyil, ivan oru thatiyaippitiththu, avanidaththil poy, antha ekipthiyan kaiyiliruntha eettiyaippariththu, avan eettiyinaalae avanaik kontupottan. 22 Ivaikalai yoythaavin kumaaranaakiya penaayaa seythapatiyinaal, moontu paraakkiramasalikalukkullae paerpettavanaayirunthaan. These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among three mighty men.

23 Muppathupaerilum ivan maenmaiyullavan; aanaalum antha munthina moontupaerukkum ivan samaanamaanavanalla; ivanaith David than meykkaavalarukkuth thalaivanaaka vaiththaan. He was more honorable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three. And David set him over his guard.

24 Yovaapin thampi aasakael matta muppathupaeril oruvan; avarkal yaarenil, pethlakaem ooraanaakiya thothovin kumaaran elkkaanaan, Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

25 Aarothiyanaakiya sammaa, aarothiyanaakiya elikkaa, Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,

26 Palthiyanaakiya aeles, ikkaesin kumaaranaakiya eeraa ennum thekkoviyan. Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,

27 Aanathoththiyanaakiya apiyaesar, oosaaththiyanaakiya mepunnaayi, Abiezer the Anethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,

28 Akokiyanaakiya salmon, neththopaaththiyanaakiya makaraayi, Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,

29 Paanaavin kumaaranaakiya aelaep ennum neththopaaththiyan, penyameen puththirarin kipiyaa ooraanaakiya ripaayin kumaaran iththaayi, Heleb the son of Baanah, a Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai out of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,

30 Piraththoniyanaakiya penaayaa, kaakaas neerotaikalin thaesaththaanaakiya eeththaayi, Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,

31 Arpaaththiyanaakiya apialpon, parumiyanaakiya asmaavaeth, Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,

32 Saalponiyanaakiya eliyoopaa, yaasenin kumaararil yonaththaan enpavan. Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
