அந்த நாட்களில் நான் யூதாவிலே ஓய்வுநாளில் சிலர் ஆலைகளை மிதிக்கிறதையும், சிலர் ஆலைகளை தானியப் பொதிகளைக் கழுதைகள்மேல் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு வருகிறதையும் திராட்சரசம், திராட்சப்பழம், அத்திப்பழம் முதலானவைகளின் பற்பல சுமைகளை ஓய்வுநாளிலே எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுவருகிறதையும் கண்டு, அவர்கள் தின்பண்டம் விற்கிற நாளைப்பற்றி அவர்களைத் திடசாட்சியாய்க் கடிந்துகொண்டேன்.

யூதாவில் அந்தக் காலத்தில், ஜனங்கள் ஓய்வு நாளில் வேலை செய்வதை நான் பார்த்தேன். ஜனங்கள் திராட்சைரசத்தைச் செய்ய திராட்சைகளை மிதிப்பதைப் பார்த்தேன். ஜனங்கள் தானியங்களைக் கொண்டு வந்து கழுதைகள் மீது சுமை ஏற்றுவதைப் பார்த்தேன். ஜனங்கள் திராட்சைப் பழங்கள், அத்திப் பழங்கள் மற்றும் அனைத்துப் பொருட்களையும் நகரத்தில் சுமந்து செல்வதைப் பார்த்தேன். ஓய்வுநாளில் அவர்கள் இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் எருசலேமிற்குள் கொண்டுவந்தனர். எனவே, நான் இதைப்பற்றி அவர்களை எச்சரித்தேன். நான் அவர்களிடம் ஓய்வுநாளில் உணவை விற்கக்கூடாது என்று சொன்னேன்.
