ஆசாரியனும் ஆயுதபாணிகளாகிய அறுநூறுபேரும் வாசற்படியிலே நிற்கையில், தேசத்தை உளவுபார்க்கப் போய் வந்த அந்த ஐந்து மனுஷர் உள்ளே புகுந்து, வெட்டப்பட்ட விக்கிரகத்தையும் ஏபோத்தையும் சுரூபங்களையும் வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட விக்கிரகத்தையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்.

அந்த 5 ஒற்றர்களும் வீட்டினுள் நுழைந்தனர். போருக்குத் தயாராக நின்ற 600 பேரோடும் பூஜை செய்பவன் கதவிற்கு வெளியே நின்றுக் கொண்டிருந்தான். அந்த ஆட்கள் செதுக்கப்பட்ட சிலை, ஏபோத், வீட்டு விக்கிரகங்கள், வெள்ளி விக்கிரகம் ஆகியவற்றை எடுத்துக் கொண்டனர். லேவியனாகிய பூஜை செய்யும் இளைஞன், “நீங்கள் என்ன செய்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டான்.
