அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: நாம் செங்கல் அறுத்து, அதை நன்றாய்ச் சுடுவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்; கல்லுக்குப் பதிலாகச் செங்கல்லும், சாந்துக்குப் பதிலாக நிலக்கீலும் அவர்களுக்கு இருந்தது.

let us make נִלְבְּנָ֣ה lāban la-VAHN
brick, לְבֵנִ֔ים lĕbēnâ leh-vay-NA
and burn וְנִשְׂרְפָ֖ה śārap sa-RAHF
them throughly. לִשְׂרֵפָ֑ה śĕrēpâ seh-ray-FA
And they had וַתְּהִ֨י hāyâ ha-YA
לָהֶ֤ם
brick הַלְּבֵנָה֙ lĕbēnâ leh-vay-NA
for stone, לְאָ֔בֶן ʾeben eh-VEN
and slime וְהַ֣חֵמָ֔ר ḥēmār hay-MAHR
