Genesis 1 in Tamil

1 ஆதியிலே தேவன் வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் சிருஷ்டித்தார். In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 பூமியானது ஒழுங்கின்மையும் வெறுமையுமாய் இருந்தது; ஆழத்தின்மேல் இருள் இருந்தது; தேவ ஆவியானவர் ஜலத்தின்மேல் அசைவாடிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 தேவன் வெளிச்சம் உண்டாகக்கடவது என்றார், வெளிச்சம் உண்டாயிற்று. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 வெளிச்சம் நல்லது என்று தேவன் கண்டார்; வெளிச்சத்தையும் இருளையும் தேவன் வெவ்வேறாகப் பிரித்தார். And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 தேவன் வெளிச்சத்துக்குப் பகல் என்று பேரிட்டார், இருளுக்கு இரவு என்று பேரிட்டார்; சாயங்காலமும் விடியற்காலமுமாகி முதலாம் நாள் ஆயிற்று. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 பின்பு தேவன் ஜலத்தின் மத்தியில் ஆகாயவிரிவு உண்டாகக்கடவது என்றும், அது ஜலத்தினின்று ஜலத்தைப் பிரிக்கக்கடவது என்றும் சொன்னார். And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 தேவன் ஆகாய விரிவை உண்டு பண்ணி, ஆகாயவிரிவுக்குக் கீழே இருக்கிற ஜலத்திற்கும் ஆகாயவிரிவுக்கு மேலே இருக்கிற ஜலத்திற்கும் பிரிவுண்டாக்கினார்; அது அப்படியே ஆயிற்று. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 தேவன் ஆகாயவிரிவுக்கு வானம் என்று பேரிட்டார்; சாயங்காலமும் விடியற்காலமுமாகி இரண்டாம் நாள் ஆயிற்று. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 பின்பு தேவன் வானத்தின் கீழே இருக்கிற ஜலம் ஓரிடத்தில் சேரவும், வெட்டாந்தரை காணப்படவும் கடவது என்றார்; அது அப்படியே ஆயிற்று. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 தேவன் வெட்டாந்தரைக்குப் பூமி என்றும், சேர்ந்த ஜலத்திற்குச் சமுத்திரம் என்றும் பேரிட்டார்; தேவன் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார். And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 அப்பொழுது தேவன்: பூமியானது புல்லையும், விதையைப் பிறப்பிக்கும் பூண்டுகளையும், பூமியின்மேல் தங்களில் தங்கள் விதையையுடைய கனிகளைத் தங்கள் தங்கள் ஜாதியின்படியே கொடுக்கும் கனிவிருட்சங்களையும் முளைப்பிக்கக்கடவது என்றார்; அது அப்படியே ஆயிற்று. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 பூமியானது புல்லையும், தங்கள் ஜாதியின்படியே விதையைப் பிறப்பிக்கும் பூண்டுகளையும் தங்கள் தங்கள் ஜாதியின்படியே தங்களில் தங்கள் விதையையுடைய கனிகளைக் கொடுக்கும் விருட்சங்களையும் முளைப்பித்தது; தேவன் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார். And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 சாயங்காலமும் விடியற்காலமுமாகி மூன்றாம் நாள் ஆயிற்று. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 பின்பு தேவன் பகலுக்கும் இரவுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் உண்டாகத்தக்கதாக வானம் என்கிற ஆகாய விரிவிலே சுடர்கள் உண்டாகக்கடவது, அவைகள் அடையாளங்களுக்காகவும் காலங்களையும் நாட்களையும் வருஷங்களையும் குறிக்கிறதற்காகவும் இருக்கக்கடவது என்றார். And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 அவைகள் பூமியின்மேல் பிரகாசிக்கும்படிக்கு வானம் என்கிற ஆகாய விரிவிலே சுடர்களாயிருக்கக்கடவது என்றார்; அது அப்படியே ஆயிற்று. And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 தேவன் பகலை ஆளப் பெரிய சுடரும் இரவை ஆளச் சிறிய சுடரும் ஆகிய இரண்டு மகத்தான சுடர்களையும் நட்சத்திரங்களையும் உண்டாக்கினார். And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 அவைகள் பூமியின்மேல் பிரகாசிக்கவும், And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 பகலையும் இரவையும் ஆளவும், வெளிச்சத்துக்கும் இருளுக்கும் வித்தியாசம் உண்டாக்கவும், தேவன் அவைகளை வானம் என்கிற ஆகாய விரிவிலே வைத்தார்; தேவன் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார். And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 சாயங்காலமும் விடியற்காலமுமாகி நாலாம் நாள் ஆயிற்று. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 பின்பு தேவன்: நீந்தும் ஜீவஜந்துக்களையும், பூமியின்மேல் வானம் என்கிற ஆகாயவிரிவிலே பறக்கும் பறவைகளையும், ஜலமானது திரளாய் ஜநிப்பிக்கக்கடவது என்றார். And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 தேவன், மகா மச்சங்களையும் ஜலத்தில் தங்கள் தங்கள் ஜாதியின்படியே திரளாய் ஜநிப்பிக்கப்பட்ட சகலவித நீர் வாழும் ஜந்துக்களையும் சிறகுள்ள ஜாதி ஜாதியான சகலவிதப்பட்சிகளையும் சிருஷ்டித்தார்; தேவன் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார். And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 தேவன் அவைகளை ஆசீர்வதித்து, நீங்கள் பலுகிப் பெருகி, சமுத்திர ஜலத்தை நிரப்புங்கள் என்றும், பறவைகள் பூமியில் பெருகக்கடவது என்றும் சொன்னார். And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 சாயங்காலமும் விடியற்காலமுமாகி ஐந்தாம் நாள் ஆயிற்று. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 பின்பு தேவன்: பூமியானது ஜாதிஜாதியான ஜீவஜந்துக்களாகிய நாட்டு மிருகங்களையும், ஊரும் பிராணிகளையும், காட்டு மிருகங்களையும் ஜாதிஜாதியாகப் பிறப்பிக்கக்கடவது என்றார்; அது அப்படியே ஆயிற்று. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 தேவன் பூமியிலுள்ள ஜாதிஜாதியான காட்டு மிருகங்களையும் ஜாதிஜாதியான நாட்டு மிருகங்களையும், பூமியில் ஊரும் பிராணிகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் உண்டாக்கினார்; தேவன் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார். And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 பின்பு தேவன்: நமது சாயலாகவும் நமது ரூபத்தின்படியேயும் மனுஷனை உண்டாக்குவோமாக; அவர்கள் சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்களையும், ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளையும், மிருகஜீவன்களையும், பூமியனைத்தையும், பூமியின்மேல் ஊரும் சகலப் பிராணிகளையும் ஆளக்கடவர்கள் என்றார். And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 தேவன் தம்முடைய சாயலாக மனுஷனைச் சிருஷ்டித்தார், அவனைத் தேவசாயலாகவே சிருஷ்டித்தார், ஆணும் பெண்ணுமாக அவர்களைச் சிருஷ்டித்தார். So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 பின்பு தேவன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் பலுகிப்பெருகி, பூமியை நிரப்பி, அதைக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தி, சமுத்திரத்தின் மச்சங்களையும் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளையும், பூமியின்மேல் நடமாடுகிற சகல ஜீவஜந்துக்களையும் ஆண்டுகொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்தார். And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 பின்னும் தேவன்: இதோ, பூமியின்மேல் எங்கும் விதைதரும் சகலவிதப் பூண்டுகளையும், விதைதரும் கனிமரங்களாகிய சகலவித விருட்சங்களையும் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன், அவைகள் உங்களுக்கு ஆகாரமாயிருக்கக்கடவது; And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 பூமியிலுள்ள சகல மிருகஜீவன்களுக்கும், ஆகாயத்திலுள்ள சகல பறவைகளுக்கும், பூமியின்மேல் ஊரும் பிராணிகள் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் பசுமையான சகல பூண்டுகளையும் ஆகாரமாகக் கொடுத்தேன் என்றார்; அது அப்படியே ஆயிற்று. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 அப்பொழுது தேவன் தாம் உண்டாக்கின எல்லாவற்றையும் பார்த்தார், அது மிகவும் நன்றாயிருந்தது; சாயங்காலமும் விடியற்காலமுமாகி ஆறாம் நாள் ஆயிற்று. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

1 Aathiyilae Dhevan vaanaththaiyum poomiyaiyum sirushtiththaar. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 Poomiyaanathu olunginmaiyum veraுmaiyumaay irunthathu; aalaththinmael irul irunthathu; thaeva Aaviyaanavar jalaththinmael asaivaatikkonntirunthaar. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 Dhevan velichcham unndaakakkadavathu entar, velichcham unndaayittaு. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 Velichcham nallathu entu Dhevan kanndaar; velichchaththaiyum irulaiyum Dhevan vevvaeraakap piriththaar. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 Dhevan velichchaththukkup pakal entu paerittar, irulukku iravu entu paerittar; saayangaalamum vitiyarkaalamumaaki muthalaam naal aayittaு. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 Pinpu Dhevan jalaththin maththiyil aakaayavirivu unndaakakkadavathu entum, athu jalaththinintu jalaththaip pirikkakkadavathu entum sonnaar. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 Dhevan aakaaya virivai unndu pannnni, aakaayavirivukkuk geelae irukkira jalaththirkum aakaayavirivukku maelae irukkira jalaththirkum pirivunndaakkinaar; athu appatiyae aayittaு. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 Dhevan aakaayavirivukku vaanam entu paerittar; saayangaalamum vitiyarkaalamumaaki iranndaam naal aayittaு. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 Pinpu Dhevan vaanaththin geelae irukkira jalam oridaththil seravum, vettantharai kaanappadavum kadavathu entar; athu appatiyae aayittaு. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 Dhevan vettantharaikkup poomi entum, serntha jalaththirkuch samuththiram entum paerittar; Dhevan athu nallathu entu kanndaar. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 Appoluthu Dhevan: poomiyaanathu pullaiyum, vithaiyaip pirappikkum poonndukalaiyum, poomiyinmael thangalil thangal vithaiyaiyutaiya kanikalaith thangal thangal jaathiyinpatiyae kodukkum kanivirutchangalaiyum mulaippikkakkadavathu entar; athu appatiyae aayittaு. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 Poomiyaanathu pullaiyum, thangal jaathiyinpatiyae vithaiyaip pirappikkum poonndukalaiyum thangal thangal jaathiyinpatiyae thangalil thangal vithaiyaiyutaiya kanikalaik kodukkum virutchangalaiyum mulaippiththathu; Dhevan athu nallathu entu kanndaar. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 Saayangaalamum vitiyarkaalamumaaki moontam naal aayittaு. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 Pinpu Dhevan pakalukkum iravukkum viththiyaasam unndaakaththakkathaaka vaanam enkira aakaaya virivilae sudarkal unndaakakkadavathu, avaikal ataiyaalangalukkaakavum kaalangalaiyum naatkalaiyum varushangalaiyum kurikkiratharkaakavum irukkakkadavathu entar. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 Avaikal poomiyinmael pirakaasikkumpatikku vaanam enkira aakaaya virivilae sudarkalaayirukkakkadavathu entar; athu appatiyae aayittaு. And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 Dhevan pakalai aalap periya sudarum iravai aalach siriya sudarum aakiya iranndu makaththaana sudarkalaiyum natchaththirangalaiyum unndaakkinaar. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 Avaikal poomiyinmael pirakaasikkavum, And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 Pakalaiyum iravaiyum aalavum, velichchaththukkum irulukkum viththiyaasam unndaakkavum, Dhevan avaikalai vaanam enkira aakaaya virivilae vaiththaar; Dhevan athu nallathu entu kanndaar. And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 Saayangaalamum vitiyarkaalamumaaki naalaam naal aayittaு. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 Pinpu Dhevan: neenthum jeevajanthukkalaiyum, poomiyinmael vaanam enkira aakaayavirivilae parakkum paravaikalaiyum, jalamaanathu thiralaay janippikkakkadavathu entar. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 Dhevan, makaa machchangalaiyum jalaththil thangal thangal jaathiyinpatiyae thiralaay janippikkappatta sakalavitha neer vaalum janthukkalaiyum sirakulla jaathi jaathiyaana sakalavithappatchikalaiyum sirushtiththaar; Dhevan athu nallathu entu kanndaar. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 Dhevan avaikalai aaseervathiththu, neengal palukip peruki, samuththira jalaththai nirappungal entum, paravaikal poomiyil perukakkadavathu entum sonnaar. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 Saayangaalamum vitiyarkaalamumaaki ainthaam naal aayittaு. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 Pinpu Dhevan: poomiyaanathu jaathijaathiyaana jeevajanthukkalaakiya naattu mirukangalaiyum, oorum piraannikalaiyum, kaattu mirukangalaiyum jaathijaathiyaakap pirappikkakkadavathu entar; athu appatiyae aayittaு. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 Dhevan poomiyilulla jaathijaathiyaana kaattu mirukangalaiyum jaathijaathiyaana naattu mirukangalaiyum, poomiyil oorum piraannikal ellaavattaைyum unndaakkinaar; Dhevan athu nallathu entu kanndaar. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 Pinpu Dhevan: namathu saayalaakavum namathu roopaththinpatiyaeyum manushanai unndaakkuvomaaka; avarkal samuththiraththin machchangalaiyum, aakaayaththup paravaikalaiyum, mirukajeevankalaiyum, poomiyanaiththaiyum, poomiyinmael oorum sakalap piraannikalaiyum aalakkadavarkal entar. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 Dhevan thammutaiya saayalaaka manushanaich sirushtiththaar, avanaith thaevasaayalaakavae sirushtiththaar, aanum pennnumaaka avarkalaich sirushtiththaar. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 Pinpu Dhevan avarkalai Nnokki: neengal palukipperuki, poomiyai nirappi, athaik geelppaduththi, samuththiraththin machchangalaiyum aakaayaththup paravaikalaiyum, poomiyinmael nadamaadukira sakala jeevajanthukkalaiyum aanndukollungal entu solli avarkalai aaseervathiththaar. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 Pinnum Dhevan: itho, poomiyinmael engum vithaitharum sakalavithap poonndukalaiyum, vithaitharum kanimarangalaakiya sakalavitha virutchangalaiyum ungalukkuk koduththaen, avaikal ungalukku aakaaramaayirukkakkadavathu; And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 Poomiyilulla sakala mirukajeevankalukkum, aakaayaththilulla sakala paravaikalukkum, poomiyinmael oorum piraannikal ellaavattirkum pasumaiyaana sakala poonndukalaiyum aakaaramaakak koduththaen entar; athu appatiyae aayittaு. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 Appoluthu Dhevan thaam unndaakkina ellaavattaைyum paarththaar, athu mikavum nantayirunthathu; saayangaalamum vitiyarkaalamumaaki aaraam naal aayittaு. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
