உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவர்களை உனக்கு முன்பாகத்துரத்துகையில், நீ உன் இருதயத்திலே: என் நீதியினிமித்தம் இந்த தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி கர்த்தர் என்னை அழைத்துவந்தார் என்று சொல்லாயாக; அந்த ஜாதிகளுடைய ஆகாமியத்தினிமித்தமே கர்த்தர் அவர்களை உனக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்தி விடுகிறார்.

“உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களிடமிருந்து அவர்களை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகவே துரத்திடுவார். ஆனால், ‘நாம் நல்லவர்கள் என்பதால் கர்த்தர் நம்மை இந்த தேசத்திற்கு சுதந்திரமாக வாழும்படி அழைத்து வந்தார்’ என்று உங்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொள்ளாதீர்கள். அந்த ஜனங்களைத் கர்த்தர் வெளியே துரத்தியதற்கு நீங்கள் நல்லவர்களாக இருந்தீர்கள் என்பதால் அல்ல, அவர்கள் தீயவர்களாக இருந்தனர் என்பதே காரணமாகும்,
