1 சர்வவல்லவருக்குக் காலங்கள் மறைக்கப்படாதிருக்க, அவரை அறிந்தவர்கள் அவர் நியமித்த நாட்களை அறியாதிருக்கிறதென்ன? Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?

2 சிலர் எல்லைக் குறிப்புகளை ஒற்றி, மந்தைகளைப் பலாத்காரமாய்ச் சாய்த்துக்கொண்டுபோய் பட்சிக்கிறார்கள். Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.

3 தாய் தகப்பன் இல்லாதவர்களின் கழுதையை ஓட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், விதவையின் மாட்டை ஈடாக எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள். They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.

4 தேசத்தில் சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்கள் சுகமாய் ஒளித்துக்கொள்ளத்தக்கதாக எளிமையானவர்களை வழியைவிட்டு விலக்குகிறார்கள். They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.

5 இதோ, அவர்கள் காட்டுக்கழுதைகளைப்போல இரைதேட அதிகாலமே தங்கள் வேலைக்குப் புறப்படுகிறார்கள்; வனாந்தரவெளிதான் அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் ஆகாரம் கொடுக்கவேண்டும். Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.

6 துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வயலில் அவர்கள் அவனுக்காக அறுப்பு அறுத்து அவனுடைய திராட்சத் தோட்டத்தின் பழங்களைச் சேர்க்கிறார்கள். They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.

7 குளிரிலே போர்த்துக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கு ஒன்றும் இல்லாததினால் வஸ்திரமில்லாமல் இராத்தங்கி, They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.

8 மலைகளிலிருந்து வரும் மழைகளிலே நனைந்து, ஒதுக்கிடமில்லாததினால் கன்மலையிலே ஒண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள். They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.

9 அவர்களோ தகப்பனில்லாத பிள்ளையை முலையைவிட்டுப் பறித்து, தரித்திரன் போர்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதை அடகுவாங்குகிறார்கள். They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.

10 அவனை வஸ்திரமில்லாமல் நடக்கவும், பட்டினியாய் அரிக்கட்டுகளைச் சுமக்கவும், They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;

11 தங்கள் மதில்களுக்குள்ளே செக்காட்டவும், தாகத்தவனமாய் ஆலையாட்டவும் பண்ணுகிறார்கள். Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

12 ஊரில் மனுஷர் தவிக்கிறார்கள், குற்றுயிராய்க் கிடக்கிறவர்களின் ஆத்துமா கூப்பிடுகிறது; என்றாலும் தேவன் அதற்குக் குற்றமாக அவர்கள்மேல் சுமத்துகிறதில்லை. Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.

13 அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்துக்கு விரோதமாய் நடக்கிறவர்களின் கூட்டத்தார்; அவர்கள் அவருடைய வழிகளை அறியாமலும், அவருடைய பாதைகளில் தரிசிக்காமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள். They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

14 கொலைபாதகன் பொழுது விடிகிறபோது எழுந்து சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவனைக் கொன்று, இராக்காலத்திலே திருடனைப்போல் திரிகிறான். The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.

15 விபசாரனுடைய கண் மாலைமயங்குகிற வேளைக்குக் காத்திருந்து, என்னை ஒரு கணம் காணமாட்டாதென்று முகத்தை மூடிக்கொள்ளுகிறான். The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.

16 அவர்கள் பகலில் அடையாளம் பார்த்த வீடுகளை இருட்டிலே கன்னமிடுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் வெளிச்சத்தை அறியார்கள். In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.

17 விடியுங்காலமும் அவர்களுக்கு மரண இருள்போல இருக்கிறது; அப்படிப்பட்டவன் மரண இருளின் பயங்கரத்தோடு பழகியிருக்கிறான். For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

18 நீரோட்டத்தைப்போல் தீவிரமாய்ப் போவான்; தேசத்தில் அவன் பங்கு சபிக்கப்பட்டுப் போகிறதினால் அவன் திராட்சத்தோட்டங்களின் வழியை இனிக் காண்பதில்லை. He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.

19 வறட்சியும் உஷ்ணமும் உறைந்த மழையைப் பட்சிக்கும்; அப்படியே பாதாளமானது பாவிகளைப் பட்சிக்கும். Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.

20 அவனைப் பெற்ற கர்ப்பம் அவனை மறக்கும்; புழு திருப்திகரமாய் அவனைத் தின்னும்; அவன் அப்புறம் நினைக்கப்படுவதில்லை; அக்கிரமமானது பட்டமரத்தைப்போல முறிந்துவிழும். The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

21 பிள்ளைபெறாத மலடியின் ஆஸ்தியைப் பட்சித்துவிட்டு, விதவைக்கு நன்மை செய்யாதேபோகிறான். He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.

22 தன் பலத்தினாலே வல்லவர்களைத் தன் பாரிசமாக்குகிறான்; அவன் எழும்புகிறபோது ஒருவனுக்கும் பிராணனைப்பற்றி நிச்சயமில்லை. He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.

23 தேவன் அவனுக்குச் சுகவாழ்வைக் கட்டளையிட்டால், அதின்மேல் உறுதியாய் நம்பிக்கை வைக்கிறான்; ஆனாலும் அவருடைய கண்கள் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களின் வழிகளுக்கு விரோதமாயிருக்கிறது. Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.

24 அவர்கள் கொஞ்சக்காலம் உயர்ந்திருந்து காணாமற்போய், தாழ்த்தப்பட்டு மற்ற எல்லாரைப்போலும் அடக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்; கதிர்களின் நுனியைப்போல அறுக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.

25 அப்படியில்லையென்று என்னைப் பொய்யனாக்கி என் வார்த்தைகளை வியர்த்தமாக்கத்தக்கவன் யார் என்றான். And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?

1 Sarvavallavarukkuk kaalangal maraikkappadaathirukka, avarai arinthavarkal avar niyamiththa naatkalai ariyaathirukkirathenna? Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?

2 Silar ellaik kurippukalai otti, manthaikalaip palaathkaaramaaych saayththukkonndupoy patchikkiraarkal. Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.

3 Thaay thakappan illaathavarkalin kaluthaiyai ottikkonndupoy, vithavaiyin maattaை eedaaka eduththukkollukiraarkal. They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.

4 Thaesaththil siraுmaippattavarkal sukamaay oliththukkollaththakkathaaka elimaiyaanavarkalai valiyaivittu vilakkukiraarkal. They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.

5 Itho, avarkal kaattukkaluthaikalaippola iraithaeda athikaalamae thangal vaelaikkup purappadukiraarkal; vanaantharavelithaan avarkalukkum avarkal pillaikalukkum aakaaram kodukkavaenndum. 11 Thangal mathilkalukkullae sekkaattavum, thaakaththavanamaay aalaiyaattavum pannnukiraarkal. Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

12 Ooril manushar thavikkiraarkal, kuttaுyiraayk kidakkiravarkalin aaththumaa kooppidukirathu; entalum Dhevan atharkuk kuttamaaka avarkalmael sumaththukirathillai. Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.

13 Avarkal velichchaththukku virothamaay nadakkiravarkalin koottaththaar; avarkal avarutaiya valikalai ariyaamalum, avarutaiya paathaikalil tharisikkaamalum irukkiraarkal. They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

15 Vipasaaranutaiya kann maalaimayangukira vaelaikkuk kaaththirunthu, ennai oru kanam kaanamaattathentu mukaththai mootikkollukiraan. The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.

16 Avarkal pakalil ataiyaalam paarththa veedukalai iruttilae kannamidukiraarkal; avarkal velichchaththai ariyaarkal. In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.

17 Vitiyungaalamum avarkalukku marana irulpola irukkirathu; appatippattavan marana irulin payangaraththodu palakiyirukkiraan. For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

18 Neerottaththaippol theeviramaayp povaan; thaesaththil avan pangu sapikkappattup pokirathinaal avan thiraatchaththottangalin valiyai inik kaannpathillai. He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.

19 Varatchiyum ushnamum uraintha malaiyaip patchikkum; appatiyae paathaalamaanathu paavikalaip patchikkum. Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.

20 Avanaip petta karppam avanai marakkum; pulu thirupthikaramaay avanaith thinnum; avan appuram ninaikkappaduvathillai; akkiramamaanathu pattamaraththaippola murinthuvilum. The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

21 Pillaiperaatha malatiyin aasthiyaip patchiththuvittu, vithavaikku nanmai seyyaathaepokiraan. He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.

22 Than palaththinaalae vallavarkalaith than paarisamaakkukiraan; avan elumpukirapothu oruvanukkum piraananaippatti nichchayamillai. He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.

23 Dhevan avanukkuch sukavaalvaik kattalaiyittal, athinmael uraுthiyaay nampikkai vaikkiraan; aanaalum avarutaiya kannkal appatippattavarkalin valikalukku virothamaayirukkirathu. Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.

24 Avarkal konjakkaalam uyarnthirunthu kaannaamarpoy, thaalththappattu matta ellaaraippolum adakkappadukiraarkal; kathirkalin nuniyaippola araுkkappadukiraarkal. They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.

25 Appatiyillaiyentu ennaip poyyanaakki en vaarththaikalai viyarththamaakkaththakkavan yaar entan. And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
