என் தேவனே, உம்முடைய செவியைச் சாய்த்துக் கேட்டருளும்; உம்முடைய கண்களைத் திறந்து, எங்கள் பாழிடங்களையும், உமது நாமம் தரிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிற நகரத்தையும் பார்த்தருளும்; நாங்கள் எங்கள் நீதிகளை அல்ல, உம்முடைய மிகுந்த இரக்கங்களையே நம்பி, எங்கள் விண்ணப்பங்களை உமக்கு முன்பாகச் செலுத்துகிறோம்.

என் தேவனே, என்னைக் கவனித்துக் கேளும்! உமது கண்களைத் திறந்து, எங்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்ட கொடூரங்களைப் பாரும். உமது நாமத்தால் அழைக்கப்பட்ட நகரத்திற்கு என்ன நேரிட்டது என்று பாரும்! நாங்கள் நல்ல ஜனங்கள் என்று நான் சொல்லவில்லை. அதற்காகத்தான் நான் இவற்றையெல்லாம் கேட்கவில்லை. நான் இவற்றைக் கேட்கிறேன். ஏனென்றால் நான் உமது இரக்கத்தை அறிவேன்.
