1 இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாகாசின் குமாரன் யோவாசுடைய இரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியா ராஜாவானான். In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.

2 அவன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே இருபத்தொன்பது வருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம் பண்ணினான்; எருசலேம் நகரத்தாளான அவன் தாயின் பேர் யொவதானாள். He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

3 அவன் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்; ஆனாலும் தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதைப்போலல்ல; தன் தகப்பனாகிய யோவாஸ் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் செய்தான். And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.

4 மேடைகள் மாத்திரம் அகற்றப்படவில்லை; ஜனங்கள் இன்னும் மேடைகளின்மேல் பலியிட்டுத் தூபங்காட்டிவந்தார்கள். Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.

5 ராஜ்யபாரம் அவன் கையிலே ஸ்திரப்பட்டபோது, அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய ராஜாவைக் கொன்றுபோட்ட தன் ஊழியக்காரரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான். And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.

6 ஆனாலும் பிள்ளைகளினிமித்தம் பிதாக்கள் கொலைசெய்யப்படாமலும் பிதாக்களினிமித்தம் பிள்ளைகள் கொலைசெய்யப்படாமலும், அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும் என்று மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்ட பிரகாரம் கொலைசெய்தவர்களின் பிள்ளைகளை அவன் கொல்லாதிருந்தான். But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

7 அவன் உப்புப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே ஏதோமியரின் பதினாயிரம்பேரை மடங்கடித்து, யுத்தஞ்செய்து சேலாவைப் பிடித்து, அதற்கு இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிற யொக்தியேல் என்னும் பேரைத்தரித்தான். He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.

8 அப்பொழுது அமத்சியா யெகூவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாகாசின் குமாரன் யோவாஸ் என்னும் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவிடத்தில் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை அனுப்பி: நம்முடைய சாமர்த்தியத்தைப் பார்ப்போம் வா என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான். Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.

9 அதற்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அமத்சியாவுக்கு ஆள் அனுப்பி: லீபனோனிலுள்ள முட்செடியானது, லீபனோனிலுள்ள கேதுருமரத்தை நோக்கி, நீ உன் மகளை என் மகனுக்கு மனைவியாக விவாகஞ்செய்துகொடு என்று சொல்லச்சொல்லிற்று; ஆனாலும் லீபனோனிலுள்ள ஒரு காட்டுமிருகம் அந்த வழி போகையில் ஓடி அந்த முட்செடியை மிதித்துப்போட்டது. And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.

10 நீ ஏதோமியரை முறிய அடித்ததினால் உன் இருதயம் உன்னைக் கர்வங்கொள்ளப்பண்ணினது; நீ பெருமைபாராட்டிக் கொண்டு உன் வீட்டிலே இரு; நீயும் உன்னோடேகூட யூதாவும் விழும்படிக்கு, பொல்லாப்பைத் தேடிக்கொள்வானேன் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான். Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

11 ஆனாலும் அமத்சியா செவிகொடாதேபோனான்; ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் வந்தான்; யூதாவிலுள்ள பெத்ஷிமேசிலே அவனும், யூதாவின் ராஜா அமத்சியாவும், தங்கள் சாமர்த்தியத்தைப் பார்க்கிறபோது, But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.

12 யூதா ஜனங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு முன்பாக முறிந்து அவரவர் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள். And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to their tents.

13 அகசியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியா என்னும் யூதாவின் ராஜாவையோ, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் பெத்ஷிமேசிலே பிடித்து, எருசலேமுக்கு வந்து, எருசலேமின் அலங்கத்திலே எப்பிராயீம் வாசல் தொடங்கி மூலைவாசல்மட்டும் நானூறு முழ நீளம் இடித்துப்போட்டு, And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

14 கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலும் ராஜாவுடைய அரமனைப் பொக்கிஷங்களிலும் அகப்பட்ட பொன் வெள்ளி யாவையும், சகல பணிமுட்டுகளையும், கிரியிருப்பவர்களையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு சமாரியாவுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான். And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.

15 யோவாஸ் செய்த மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவனுடைய வல்லமையும், அவன் யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அமத்சியாவோடு யுத்தம்பண்ணின விதமும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

16 யோவாஸ் தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், சமாரியாவில் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்களண்டையிலே அடக்கம் பண்ணப்பட்டான்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாம் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான். And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.

17 இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாகாசின் குமாரன் யோவாஸ் மரணமடைந்தபின், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியா பதினைந்துவருஷம் உயிரோடிருந்தான். And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.

18 அமத்சியாவின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்கள் யூதாவுடைய ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது. And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

19 எருசலேமிலே அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கட்டுப்பாடு பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது லாகீசுக்கு ஓடிப்போனான்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் அவன் பிறகே லாகீசுக்கு மனுஷரை அனுப்பி, அங்கே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டு, Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.

20 குதிரைகள்மேல் அவனை எடுத்துக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவன் எருசலேமில் இருக்கிற தாவீதின் நகரத்திலே தன் பிதாக்களண்டையிலே அடக்கம்பண்ணப்பட்டான். And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

21 யூதா ஜனங்கள் யாவரும் பதினாறு வயதுள்ள அசரியாவை அழைத்துவந்து அவனை அவன் தகப்பனாகிய அமத்சியாவின் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள். And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.

22 ராஜா தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின்பு, இவன் ஏலாதைக்கட்டி, அதைத் திரும்ப யூதாவின் வசமாக்கிக்கொண்டான். He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

23 யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியாவின் பதினைந்தாம் வருஷத்தில், இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் யெரொபெயாம் ராஜாவாகி சமாரியாவில் நாற்பத்தொரு வருஷம் அரசாண்டு, In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.

24 கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்; இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணின நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் பாவங்கள் ஒன்றையும் அவன் விட்டு விலகவில்லை. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

25 காத்தேப்பேர் ஊரானாகிய அமித்தாய் என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசியின் குமாரன் யோனா என்னும் தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரனைக்கொண்டு இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தையின்படியே, அவன் ஆமாத்தின் எல்லை முதற்கொண்டு சமபூமியின் கடல்மட்டுமுள்ள இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லைகளைத் திரும்பச் சேர்த்துகொண்டான். He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spake by the hand of his servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gathhepher.

26 இஸ்ரவேலின் உபத்திரவம் மிகவும் கொடிது என்றும், அடைபட்டவனுமில்லை, விடுபட்டவனுமில்லை, இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு ஒத்தாசை செய்கிறவனுமில்லை என்றும் கர்த்தர் பார்த்தார். For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel.

27 இஸ்ரவேலின் பேரை வானத்தின் கீழிருந்து கொலைத்துப்போடுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லாமல், யோவாசின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் கையால் அவர்களை ரட்சித்தார். And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

28 யெரொபெயாமின் மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களும், அவன் செய்தவை யாவும், அவன் யுத்தம்பண்ணி, யூதாவுக்கு இருந்த தமஸ்குவையும் ஆமாத்தையும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகத் திரும்பச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்ட அவனுடைய வல்லமையும், இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் நாளாகமப் புஸ்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதியிருக்கிறது. Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which belonged to Judah, for Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

29 யெரொபெயாம் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாக்களாகிய தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின், அவன் குமாரனாகிய சகரியா அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான். And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.

1 Isravaelin raajaavaakiya yovaakaasin kumaaran yovaasutaiya iranndaam varushaththilae yoothaavin raajaavaakiya yovaasin kumaaran amathsiyaa raajaavaanaan. In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.

2 Avan raajaavaakirapothu irupaththainthu vayathaayirunthu, erusalaemilae irupaththonpathu varusham raajyapaaram pannnninaan; Jerusalem nakaraththaalaana avan thaayin paer yovathaanaal. He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

3 Avan karththarin paarvaikkuch semmaiyaanathaich seythaan; aanaalum than thakappanaakiya thaaveethaippolalla; than thakappanaakiya yovaas seythapatiyellaam seythaan. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.

4 Maetaikal maaththiram akattappadavillai; janangal innum maetaikalinmael paliyittuth thoopangaattivanthaarkal. Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.

5 Raajyapaaram avan kaiyilae sthirappattapothu, avanutaiya thakappanaakiya raajaavaik kontupotta than ooliyakkaararaik kontupottan. And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.

6 Aanaalum pillaikalinimiththam pithaakkal kolaiseyyappadaamalum pithaakkalinimiththam pillaikal kolaiseyyappadaamalum, avanavan seytha paavaththinimiththam avanavan kolaiseyyappadavaenndum entu Mosesyin niyaayappiramaana pusthakaththil eluthiyirukkirapati, Karththar kattalaiyitta pirakaaram kolaiseythavarkalin pillaikalai avan kollaathirunthaan. But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

7 Avan uppup pallaththaakkilae aethomiyarin pathinaayirampaerai madangatiththu, yuththanjaெythu selaavaip pitiththu, atharku innaalvaraikkum irukkira yokthiyael ennum paeraiththariththaan. He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.

8 Appoluthu amathsiyaa yekoovin kumaaranaakiya yovaakaasin kumaaran yovaas ennum isravaelin raajaavidaththil sthaanaapathikalai anuppi: nammutaiya saamarththiyaththaip paarppom vaa entu sollachchaொnnaan. Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.

9 Atharku isravaelin raajaavaakiya yovaas yoothaavin raajaavaakiya amathsiyaavukku aal anuppi: leepanonilulla mutchediyaanathu, leepanonilulla kaethurumaraththai Nnokki, nee un makalai en makanukku manaiviyaaka vivaakanjaெythukodu entu sollachchaொllittaு; aanaalum leepanonilulla oru kaattumirukam antha vali pokaiyil oti antha mutchediyai mithiththuppottathu. 10 Nee aethomiyarai muriya atiththathinaal un iruthayam unnaik karvangaொllappannnninathu; nee perumaipaaraattik konndu un veettilae iru; neeyum unnotaekooda yoothaavum vilumpatikku, pollaappaith thaetikkolvaanaen entu sollachchaொnnaan. Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

11 Aanaalum amathsiyaa sevikodaathaeponaan; aakaiyaal isravaelin raajaavaakiya yovaas vanthaan; yoothaavilulla pethshimaesilae avanum, yoothaavin raajaa amathsiyaavum, thangal saamarththiyaththaip paarkkirapothu, But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.

12 Yoothaa janangal isravaelarukku munpaaka murinthu avaravar thangal koodaarangalukku otipponaarkal. And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to their tents.

13 Akasiyaavin kumaaranaakiya yovaasin kumaaran amathsiyaa ennum yoothaavin raajaavaiyo, isravaelin raajaavaakiya yovaas pethshimaesilae pitiththu, erusalaemukku vanthu, erusalaemin alangaththilae eppiraayeem vaasal thodangi moolaivaasalmattum naanooraு mula neelam itiththuppottu, And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.

14 Karththarutaiya aalayaththilum raajaavutaiya aramanaip pokkishangalilum akappatta pon velli yaavaiyum, sakala pannimuttukalaiyum, kiriyiruppavarkalaiyum pitiththukkonndu samaariyaavukkuth thirumpipponaan. And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.

15 Yovaas seytha matta varththamaanangalum, avanutaiya vallamaiyum, avan yoothaavin raajaavaakiya amathsiyaavodu yuththampannnnina vithamum, Israel raajaakkalin naalaakamap pusthakaththil allavo eluthiyirukkirathu. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

16 Yovaas than pithaakkalotae niththiraiyatainthapin, samaariyaavil isravaelin raajaakkalanntaiyilae adakkam pannnappattan; avan kumaaranaakiya yeropeyaam avan sthaanaththil raajaavaanaan. And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.

17 Isravaelin raajaavaakiya yovaakaasin kumaaran yovaas maranamatainthapin, yoothaavin raajaavaakiya yovaasin kumaaran amathsiyaa pathinainthuvarusham uyirotirunthaan. And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.

18 Amathsiyaavin matta varththamaanangal yoothaavutaiya raajaakkalin naalaakap pusthakaththil allavo eluthiyirukkirathu. And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

19 Erusalaemilae avanukku virothamaakak kattuppaadu pannnninaarkal; appoluthu laageesukku otipponaan; aanaalum avarkal avan pirakae laageesukku manusharai anuppi, angae avanaik kontupottu, Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.

20 Kuthiraikalmael avanai eduththuk konnduvanthaarkal; avan erusalaemil irukkira thaaveethin nakaraththilae than pithaakkalanntaiyilae adakkampannnappattan. And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

21 Yoothaa janangal yaavarum pathinaaraு vayathulla asariyaavai alaiththuvanthu avanai avan thakappanaakiya amathsiyaavin sthaanaththil raajaavaakkinaarkal. And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.

22 Raajaa than pithaakkalotae niththiraiyatainthapinpu, ivan aelaathaikkatti, athaith thirumpa yoothaavin vasamaakkikkonndaan. He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

23 Yoothaavin raajaavaakiya yovaasin kumaaran amathsiyaavin pathinainthaam varushaththil, isravaelin raajaavaakiya yovaasin kumaaran yeropeyaam raajaavaaki samaariyaavil naarpaththoru varusham arasaanndu, In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.

24 Karththarin paarvaikkup pollaappaanathaich seythaan; isravaelaip paavanjaெyyappannnnina naepaaththin kumaaranaakiya yeropeyaamin paavangal ontaiyum avan vittu vilakavillai. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

25 Kaaththaeppaer ooraanaakiya amiththaay ennum theerkkatharisiyin kumaaran yonaa ennum thammutaiya ooliyakkaaranaikkonndu isravaelin thaevanaakiya Karththar solliyiruntha vaarththaiyinpatiyae, avan aamaaththin ellai mutharkonndu samapoomiyin kadalmattumulla isravaelin ellaikalaith thirumpach serththukonndaan. 26 Isravaelin upaththiravam mikavum kotithu entum, ataipattavanumillai, vidupattavanumillai, isravaelukku oththaasai seykiravanumillai entum Karththar paarththaar. 27 Isravaelin paerai vaanaththin geelirunthu kolaiththuppoduvaen entu Karththar sollaamal, yovaasin kumaaranaakiya yeropeyaamin kaiyaal avarkalai ratchiththaar. And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
