1 சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளையாண்டான் ஏலிக்கு முன்பாகக் கர்த்தருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்; அந்நாட்களிலே கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் அபூர்வமாயிருந்தது; பிரத்தியட்சமான தரிசனம் இருந்ததில்லை. And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

2 ஒருநாள் ஏலி தன்னுடைய ஸ்தானத்திலே படுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்; அவன் பார்க்கக் கூடாதபடிக்கு அவனுடைய கண்கள் இருளடைந்திருந்தது. And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;

3 தேவனுடைய பெட்டி இருக்கிற கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் தேவனுடைய விளக்கு அணைந்துபோகுமுன்னே சாமுவேலும் படுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான். And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;

4 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர், சாமுவேலைக் கூப்பிட்டார். அதற்கு அவன்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லி, That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

5 ஏலியினிடத்தில் ஓடி, இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டீரே என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: நான் கூப்பிடவில்லை, திரும்பிப்போய்ப் படுத்துக்கொள் என்றான்; அவன் போய்ப்படுத்துக்கொண்டான். And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

7 சாமுவேல் கர்த்தரை இன்னும் அறியாதிருந்தான்; கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு இன்னும் வெளிப்படவில்லை. Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

8 கர்த்தர் மறுபடியும் மூன்றாம்விசை: சாமுவேலே என்று கூப்பிட்டார். அவன் எழுந்திருந்து ஏலியினிடத்தில் போய், இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்; என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டீரே என்றான். அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் பிள்ளையாண்டானைக் கூப்பிடுகிறார் என்று ஏலி அறிந்து, And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.

9 சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: நீ போய்ப்படுத்துக்கொள்; உன்னைக் கூப்பிட்டால், அப்பொழுது நீ: கர்த்தாவே சொல்லும்; அடியேன் கேட்கிறேன் என்று சொல் என்றான்; சாமுவேல் போய், தன்னுடைய ஸ்தானத்திலே படுத்துக்கொண்டான். Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

10 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் வந்து நின்று, முன்போல: சாமுவேலே சாமுவேலே என்று கூப்பிட்டார்; அதற்குச் சாமுவேல்: சொல்லும்; அடியேன் கேட்கிறேன் என்றான். And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

11 கர்த்தர் சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: இதோ, நான் இஸ்ரவேலில் ஒரு காரியத்தைச் செய்வேன்; அதைக் கேட்கிற ஒவ்வொருவனுடைய இரண்டு காதுகளிலும் அது தொனித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும். And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

12 நான் ஏலியின் குடும்பத்திற்கு விரோதமாகச் சொன்ன யாவையும், அவன்மேல் அந்நாளிலே வரப்பண்ணுவேன்; அதைத் தொடங்கவும் அதை முடிக்கவும் போகிறேன். In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

13 அவன் குமாரர் தங்கள்மேல் சாபத்தை வரப்பண்ணுகிறதை அவன் அறிந்திருந்தும், அவர்களை அடக்காமற்போன பாவத்தினிமித்தம், நான் அவன் குடும்பத்துக்கு என்றும் நீங்காத நியாயத்தீர்ப்புச் செய்வேன் என்று அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தேன். For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

14 அதினிமித்தம் ஏலியின் குடும்பத்தார் செய்த அக்கிரமம் ஒருபோதும் பலியினாலாவது காணிக்கையினாலாவது நிவிர்த்தியாவதில்லை என்று ஏலியின் குடும்பத்தைக்குறித்து ஆணையிட்டிருக்கிறேன் என்றார். And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

15 சாமுவேல் விடியற்காலமட்டும் படுத்திருந்து, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் கதவுகளைத் திறந்தான்; சாமுவேல் ஏலிக்கு அந்தத் தரிசனத்தை அறிவிக்கப் பயந்தான். And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to show Eli the vision.

16 ஏலியோ: சாமுவேலே, என் மகனே என்று சாமுவேலைக் கூப்பிட்டான். அவன்: இதோ, இருக்கிறேன் என்றான். Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

17 அப்பொழுது அவன்: கர்த்தர் உன்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன காரியம் என்ன? எனக்கு அதை மறைக்கவேண்டாம்; அவர் உன்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன சகல காரியத்திலும் யாதொன்றை எனக்கு மறைத்தாயானால், தேவன் உனக்கு அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் செய்வாராக என்றான். And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

18 அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஒன்றையும் அவனுக்கு மறைக்காமல், அந்தக் காரியங்களையெல்லாம் அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தான். அதற்கு அவன்: அவர் கர்த்தர்; அவர் தமது பார்வைக்கு நலமானதைச் செய்வாராக என்றான். And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.

19 சாமுவேல் வளர்ந்தான்; கர்த்தர் அவனுடனேகூட இருந்தார்; அவர் தம்முடைய எல்லா வார்த்தைகளிலும் ஒன்றையாகிலும் தரையிலே விழுந்து போகவிடவில்லை. And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

20 சாமுவேல் கர்த்தருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிதான் என்று தாண்முதல் பெயெர்செபாமட்டுமுள்ள சகல இஸ்ரவேலருக்கும் விளங்கினது. And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.

21 கர்த்தர் பின்னும் சீலோவிலே தரிசனம் தந்தருளினார்: கர்த்தர் சீலோவிலே தம்முடைய வார்த்தையினாலே சாமுவேலுக்குத் தம்மை வெளிப்படுத்தினார். And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

1 Saamuvael ennum pillaiyaanndaan aelikku munpaakak karththarukkup pannivitai seythukonntirunthaan; annaatkalilae karththarutaiya vasanam apoorvamaayirunthathu; piraththiyatchamaana tharisanam irunthathillai. And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

2 Orunaal aeli thannutaiya sthaanaththilae paduththukkonntirunthaan; avan paarkkak koodaathapatikku avanutaiya kannkal irulatainthirunthathu. And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;

3 Thaevanutaiya petti irukkira karththarutaiya aalayaththil thaevanutaiya vilakku annainthupokumunnae saamuvaelum paduththukkonntirunthaan. And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;

4 Appoluthu Karththar, saamuvaelaik kooppittar. Atharku avan: itho, irukkiraேn entu solli, That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

5 Aeliyinidaththil oti, itho, irukkiraேn; ennaik kooppittirae entan. Atharku avan: naan kooppidavillai, thirumpippoyp paduththukkol entan; avan poyppaduththukkonndaan. And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

6 Maraுpatiyum Karththar saamuvaelae entu kooppittar; appoluthu saamuvael elunthirunthu aeliyinidaththil poy: itho, irukkiraேn; ennaik kooppittirae entan. Atharku avan: en makanae, naan unnaik kooppidavillai. Thirumpippoyp paduththukkol entan. And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

7 Saamuvael karththarai innum ariyaathirunthaan; karththarutaiya vaarththai avanukku innum velippadavillai. Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

8 Karththar maraுpatiyum moontamvisai: saamuvaelae entu kooppittar. Avan elunthirunthu aeliyinidaththil poy, itho, irukkiraேn; ennaik kooppittirae entan. Appoluthu Karththar pillaiyaanndaanaik kooppidukiraar entu aeli arinthu, And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.

9 Saamuvaelai Nnokki: nee poyppaduththukkol; unnaik kooppittal, appoluthu nee: karththaavae sollum; atiyaen kaetkiraேn entu sol entan; saamuvael poy, thannutaiya sthaanaththilae paduththukkonndaan. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

10 Appoluthu Karththar vanthu nintu, munpola: saamuvaelae saamuvaelae entu kooppittar; atharkuch saamuvael: sollum; atiyaen kaetkiraேn entan. And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

11 Karththar saamuvaelai Nnokki: itho, naan isravaelil oru kaariyaththaich seyvaen; athaik kaetkira ovvoruvanutaiya iranndu kaathukalilum athu thoniththukkonntirukkum. And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

12 Naan aeliyin kudumpaththirku virothamaakach sonna yaavaiyum, avanmael annaalilae varappannnuvaen; athaith thodangavum athai mutikkavum pokiraேn. In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.

13 Avan kumaarar thangalmael saapaththai varappannnukirathai avan arinthirunthum, avarkalai adakkaamarpona paavaththinimiththam, naan avan kudumpaththukku entum neengaatha niyaayaththeerppuch seyvaen entu avanukku ariviththaen. For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.

14 Athinimiththam aeliyin kudumpaththaar seytha akkiramam orupothum paliyinaalaavathu kaannikkaiyinaalaavathu nivirththiyaavathillai entu aeliyin kudumpaththaikkuriththu aannaiyittirukkiraேn entar. And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

15 Saamuvael vitiyarkaalamattum paduththirunthu, karththarutaiya aalayaththin kathavukalaith thiranthaan; saamuvael aelikku anthath tharisanaththai arivikkap payanthaan. And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to show Eli the vision.

16 Aeliyo: saamuvaelae, en makanae entu saamuvaelaik kooppittan. Avan: itho, irukkiraேn entan. Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.

17 Appoluthu avan: Karththar unnidaththil sonna kaariyam enna? Enakku athai maraikkavaenndaam; avar unnidaththil sonna sakala kaariyaththilum yaathontai enakku maraiththaayaanaal, Dhevan unakku atharkuch sariyaakavum atharku athikamaakavum seyvaaraaka entan. And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.

18 Appoluthu saamuvael ontaiyum avanukku maraikkaamal, anthak kaariyangalaiyellaam avanukku ariviththaan. Atharku avan: avar Karththar; avar thamathu paarvaikku nalamaanathaich seyvaaraaka entan. And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.

19 Saamuvael valarnthaan; Karththar avanudanaekooda irunthaar; avar thammutaiya ellaa vaarththaikalilum ontaiyaakilum tharaiyilae vilunthu pokavidavillai. And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

20 Saamuvael karththarutaiya theerkkatharisithaan entu thaannmuthal peyersepaamattumulla sakala isravaelarukkum vilanginathu. And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.

21 Karththar pinnum seelovilae tharisanam thantharulinaar: Karththar seelovilae thammutaiya vaarththaiyinaalae saamuvaelukkuth thammai velippaduththinaar. And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
