And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?

6 அப்பொழுது ஆகீஸ்: அன்றைய தினம் சிக்லாகை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அதினிமித்தம் சிக்லாக் இந்நாள் வரைக்கும் யூதாவின் ராஜாக்களைச் சேர்ந்திருக்கிறது. Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.

7 தாவீது பெலிஸ்தரின் நாட்டிலே ஒரு வருஷமும் நாலு மாதமும் குடியிருந்தான். And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.

8 அங்கேயிருந்து தாவீதும் அவன் மனுஷரும் கெசூரியர்மேலும் கெஸ்ரியர் மேலும் அமலேக்கியர்மேலும் படையெடுத்துப்போனார்கள்; சூருக்குப் போகிற எல்லைதுவக்கி எகிப்துதேசமட்டும் இருக்கிற நாட்டிலே பூர்வகாலம் துவக்கிக் குடியிருந்தவர்கள் இவர்களே. And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.

And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.

4 David kaathpattanaththirku otipponaan entu savulukku arivikkappattapothu, avan appuram avanaith thaedavillai. And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.

5 David aageesai Nnokki: ummutaiya kannkalil enakkuth thayaikitaikkumaanaal, naan vaasampannnumpati naattilulla oorkalilae ontil enakku idanthaarum; ummutaiya atiyaan ummotaekooda raajathaani pattanaththilae vaasamaayiruppaanaen entan. And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?

And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
