1 அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் இஸ்ரவேலர் அனைவரையும் நோக்கி: இதோ, நீங்கள் எனக்குச் சொன்னபடியெல்லாம் உங்கள் சொற்கேட்டு உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தினேன். And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.

2 இப்போதும் இதோ, ராஜாவானவர் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவருகிறார்; நானோ கிழவனும் நரைத்தவனுமானேன்; என் குமாரர் உங்களோடிருப்பார்கள்; நான் என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவந்தேன். And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.

Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

4 அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீர் எங்களுக்கு அநியாயஞ் செய்யவும் இல்லை; எங்களுக்கு இடுக்கண் செய்யவும் இல்லை; ஒருவர் கையிலும் ஒன்றும் வாங்கவும் இல்லை என்றார்கள். And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand.

Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.

When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.

And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

11 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் எருபாகாலையும் பேதானையும் யெப்தாவையும் சாமுவேலையும் அனுப்பி, நீங்கள் பயமில்லாமல் குடியிருக்கும்படிக்குச் சுற்றிலும் இருந்த உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கும் உங்களை நீங்கலாக்கி ரட்சித்தார். And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and ye dwelled safe.

12 அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜாவாகிய நாகாஸ் உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் வருகிறதை நீங்கள் கண்டபோது, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரே உங்களுக்கு ராஜாவாயிருந்தும், நீங்கள் என்னை நோக்கி: அப்படியல்ல, ஒரு ராஜா எங்கள்மேல் ஆளவேண்டும் என்றீர்கள். And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.

13 இப்போதும் நீங்கள் வேண்டும் என்று விரும்பித் தெரிந்துகொண்ட ராஜா, இதோ, இருக்கிறார்; இதோ, கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தினார். Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.

14 நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வாக்குக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணாமல் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவரைச் சேவித்து, அவருடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்தால், நீங்களும் உங்களை ஆளுகிற ராஜாவும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்களாயிருப்பீர்கள். If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:

15 நீங்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல், கர்த்தருடைய வாக்குக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணினீர்களானால், கர்த்தருடைய கை உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு விரோதமாயிருந்தது போல உங்களுக்கும் விரோதமாயிருக்கும். But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.

16 இப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் செய்யும் பெரிய காரியத்தை நின்று பாருங்கள். Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.

17 இன்று கோதுமை அறுப்பின் நாள் அல்லவா? நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவைக் கேட்டதினால், கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செய்த உங்களுடைய பொல்லாப்புப் பெரியதென்று நீங்கள் கண்டு உணரும் படிக்கு, நான் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணுவேன்; அப்பொழுது இடி முழக்கங்களையும் மழையையும் கட்டளையிடுவார் என்று சொல்லி, Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.

18 சாமுவேல் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்; அன்றையதினமே கர்த்தர் இடிமுழக்கங்களையும் மழையையும் கட்டளையிட்டார்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் கர்த்தருக்கும் சாமுவேலுக்கும் மிகவும் பயந்து; So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

19 சாமுவேலைப் பார்த்து: நாங்கள் சாகாதபடிக்கு உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் உம்முடைய அடியாருக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யும்; நாங்கள் செய்த எல்லாப் பாவங்களோடும் எங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜா வேண்டும் என்று கேட்ட இந்தப் பாவத்தையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டோம் என்று ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் சொன்னார்கள். And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

20 அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதேயுங்கள்; நீங்கள் இந்தப் பொல்லாப்பையெல்லாம் செய்தீர்கள்; ஆகிலும் கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்காமல் கர்த்தரை உங்கள் முழுஇருதயத்தோடும் சேவியுங்கள். And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

21 விலகிப்போகாதிருங்கள்; மற்றப்படி பிரயோஜனமற்றதும் ரட்சிக்கமாட்டாததுமாயிருக்கிற வீணானவைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவீர்கள்; அவைகள் வீணானவைகளே. And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

22 கர்த்தர் உங்களைத் தமக்கு ஜனமாக்கிக்கொள்ளப் பிரியமானபடியினால், கர்த்தர் தம்முடைய மகத்துவமான நாமத்தினிமித்தம் தமது ஜனத்தைக் கைவிடமாட்டார். For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

23 நானும் உங்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யாதிருப்பேனாகில் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறவனாயிருப்பேன்; அது எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; நன்மையும் செவ்வையுமான வழியை நான் உங்களுக்குப் போதிப்பேன். Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

24 நீங்கள் எப்படியும் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, உங்கள் முழுஇருதயத்தோடும் உண்மையாய் அவரைச் சேவிக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; அவர் உங்களிடத்தில் எவ்வளவு மகிமையான காரியங்களைச் செய்தார் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள். Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

25 நீங்கள் இன்னும் பொல்லாப்பைச் செய்யவே செய்வீர்களானால், நீங்களும் உங்கள் ராஜாவும் நாசமடைவீர்கள் என்றான். But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

1 Appoluthu saamuvael isravaelar anaivaraiyum Nnokki: itho, neengal enakkuch sonnapatiyellaam ungal sorkaettu ungalukku oru raajaavai aerpaduththinaen. And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.

2 Ippothum itho, raajaavaanavar ungalukku munpaakach sanjariththuvarukiraar; naano kilavanum naraiththavanumaanaen; en kumaarar ungalotiruppaarkal; naan en siraுvayathumuthal innaalvaraikkum ungalukku munpaakach sanjariththuvanthaen. And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.

3 Itho, irukkiraேn; karththarin sannithiyilum avar apishaekampannnni vaiththavarukku munpaakavum ennaikkuriththuch saatchi sollungal; naan yaarutaiya eruthai eduththukkonntaen? Yaarutaiya kaluthaiyai eduththukkonntaen? Yaarukku aniyaayanjaெythaen? Yaarukku idukkannseythaen? Yaar kaiyil parithaanam vaangikkonndu kannsaataiyaayirunthaen? Sollungal; appatiyunndaanaal athai ungalukkuth thirumpak koduppaen entan. Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

4 Atharku avarkal: neer engalukku aniyaayanj seyyavum illai; engalukku idukkann seyyavum illai; oruvar kaiyilum ontum vaangavum illai entarkal. And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand.

5 Atharku avan: neengal en kaiyil ontum kanndupitikkavillai enpatharkuk Karththar ungalukku ethiraakach saatchiyaayirukkiraar, avar apishaekam pannnninavarum intu atharkuch saatchi entan; atharku avarkal: avar saatchi thaan entarkal. And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.

6 Appuram saamuvael janangalai Nnokki: Mosesyaiyum aaronaiyum aerpaduththinavarum, ungal pithaakkalai ekipthuthaesaththilirunthu purappadappannnninavarum karththarae. And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

7 Ippothum Karththar ungalukkum ungal pithaakkalukkum seythuvantha ellaa neethiyaana kiriyaikalaikkuriththum, naan karththarutaiya sannithiyil ungalotae niyaayam paesumpatikku neengal nillungal. Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.

8 Yaakkopu ekipthilae poyirukkumpothu, ungal pithaakkal karththarai Nnokki muraiyittarkal, appoluthu Karththar Mosesyaiyum aaroraiyum anuppinaar; avarkal ungal pithaakkalai ekipthilirunthu alaiththuvanthu, avarkalai intha sthalaththilae kutiyirukkappannnninaarkal. 9 Avarkal thangal thaevanaakiya karththarai maranthupokirapothu, avar avarkalai aathsorin senaapathiyaakiya siseraavin kaiyilum, pelistharin kaiyilum, movaapiya raajaavin kaiyilum vittaுppottar; ivarkal avarkalukku virothamaaka yuththam pannnninaarkal. 10 Aakaiyaal avarkal karththarai Nnokki muraiyittu: naangal karththarai vittup paakaalkalaiyum astharoththaiyum seviththathinaalae, paavanjaெythom; ippoluthu engal saththurukkalin kaikku engalai neengalaakki ratchiyum; ini ummaich sevippom entarkal. And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

11 Appoluthu Karththar erupaakaalaiyum paethaanaiyum yepthaavaiyum saamuvaelaiyum anuppi, neengal payamillaamal kutiyirukkumpatikkuch suttilum iruntha ungal saththurukkalin kaikkum ungalai neengalaakki ratchiththaar. 12 Ammon puththirarin raajaavaakiya naakaas ungalukku virothamaay varukirathai neengal kanndapothu, ungal thaevanaakiya karththarae ungalukku raajaavaayirunthum, neengal ennai Nnokki: appatiyalla, oru raajaa engalmael aalavaenndum enteerkal. And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.

13 Ippothum neengal vaenndum entu virumpith therinthukonnda raajaa, itho, irukkiraar; itho, Karththar ungalukku oru raajaavai aerpaduththinaar. Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.

14 Neengal karththarutaiya vaakkukku virothamaayk kalakampannnnaamal karththarukkup payanthu, avaraich seviththu, avarutaiya saththaththirkuk geelppatinthaal, neengalum ungalai aalukira raajaavum ungal thaevanaakiya karththaraip pinpattaுkiravarkalaayiruppeerkal. If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:

15 Neengal karththarutaiya saththaththirkuk geelppatiyaamal, karththarutaiya vaakkukku virothamaayk kalakampannnnineerkalaanaal, karththarutaiya kai ungal pithaakkalukku virothamaayirunthathu pola ungalukkum virothamaayirukkum. But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.

16 Ippoluthu Karththar ungal kannkalukku munpaakach seyyum periya kaariyaththai nintu paarungal. Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.

17 Intu kothumai araுppin naal allavaa? Neengal ungalukku oru raajaavaik kaettathinaal, karththarin paarvaikkuch seytha ungalutaiya pollaappup periyathentu neengal kanndu unarum patikku, naan karththarai Nnokki vinnnappampannnuvaen; appoluthu iti mulakkangalaiyum malaiyaiyum kattalaiyiduvaar entu solli, Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.

18 Saamuvael karththarai Nnokki vinnnappampannnninaan; antaiyathinamae Karththar itimulakkangalaiyum malaiyaiyum kattalaiyittar; appoluthu janangal ellaarum karththarukkum saamuvaelukkum mikavum payanthu; So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

19 Saamuvaelaip paarththu: naangal saakaathapatikku ummutaiya thaevanaakiya karththaridaththil ummutaiya atiyaarukkaaka vinnnappam seyyum; naangal seytha ellaap paavangalodum engalukku oru raajaa vaenndum entu kaetta inthap paavaththaiyum koottikkonntoom entu janangal ellaarum sonnaarkal. And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

20 Appoluthu saamuvael janangalai Nnokki: payappadaathaeyungal; neengal inthap pollaappaiyellaam seytheerkal; aakilum karththarai vittup pinvaangaamal karththarai ungal muluiruthayaththodum seviyungal. And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

21 Vilakippokaathirungal; mattappati pirayojanamattathum ratchikkamaattathathumaayirukkira veennaanavaikalaip pinpattaுveerkal; avaikal veennaanavaikalae. And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

22 Karththar ungalaith thamakku janamaakkikkollap piriyamaanapatiyinaal, Karththar thammutaiya makaththuvamaana naamaththinimiththam thamathu janaththaik kaividamaattar. For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

23 Naanum ungalukkaaka vinnnappam seyyaathiruppaenaakil karththarukku virothamaakap paavanjaெykiravanaayiruppaen; athu enakkuth thooramaayiruppathaaka; nanmaiyum sevvaiyumaana valiyai naan ungalukkup pothippaen. Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

24 Neengal eppatiyum karththarukkup payanthu, ungal muluiruthayaththodum unnmaiyaay avaraich sevikkakkadaveerkal; avar ungalidaththil evvalavu makimaiyaana kaariyangalaich seythaar enpathaich sinthiththuppaarungal. Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

25 Neengal innum pollaappaich seyyavae seyveerkalaanaal, neengalum ungal raajaavum naasamataiveerkal entan. But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.
