1 சாலொமோனை அவனுடைய பிதாவின் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம் பண்ணினார்கள் என்று தீருவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஈராம் கேள்விப்பட்டு, தன் ஊழியக்காரரை அவனிடத்தில் அனுப்பினான்; ஈராம் தாவீதுக்குச் சகலநாளும் சிநேகிதனாயிருந்தான். And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.

2 அப்பொழுது சாலொமோன் ஈராமினிடத்தில் ஆட்களை அனுப்பி: And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,

3 என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதின் சத்துருக்களைக் கர்த்தர் அவருடைய பாதங்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படுத்திவிடுமளவும், அவர்கள் தம்மைச் சுற்றிலும் செய்கிற யுத்தத்தினால், அவர் தம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்திற்கு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்ட, அவருக்குக் கூடாதிருந்தது என்று நீர் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர். Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

4 ஆனாலும் இப்பொழுதோ என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்கும் எனக்கு இளைப்பாறுதலைத் தந்தார்; விரோதியும் இல்லை, இடையூறும் இல்லை. But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.

5 ஆகையால்: நான் உன் ஸ்தானத்தில் உன் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வைக்கும் உன் குமாரனே என் நாமத்திற்கு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுவான் என்று கர்த்தர் என் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதினிடத்தில் சொன்னபடியே, என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் நாமத்திற்கு ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டவேண்டும் என்று இருக்கிறேன். And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

6 ஆதலால் லீபனோனில் எனக்காக கேதுருமரங்களை வெட்டக் கட்டளையிடும்; சீதோனியரைப்போல மரவெட்டு வேலை அறிந்தவர்கள் எங்களுக்குள்ளே ஒருவருமில்லை என்பது உமக்குத் தெரியும்; அதற்காக என் வேலைக்காரர் உம்முடைய வேலைக்காரரோடே இருப்பார்கள்; நீர் சொல்வதின்படியெல்லாம் உம்முடைய வேலைக்காரரின் சம்பளத்தை உமக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னான். Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.

7 ஈராம் சாலொமோனின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு: அந்த ஏராளமான ஜனங்களை ஆளும்படி, தாவீதுக்கு ஒரு ஞானமுள்ள குமாரனைக் கொடுத்த கர்த்தர் இன்று ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படுவாராக என்று சொல்லி; And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

8 ஈராம் சாலொமோனிடத்தில் மனுஷரை அனுப்பி: நீர் எனக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பின காரியத்தை நான் கேட்டேன்; கேதுருமரங்களுக்காகவும், தேவதாரி விருட்சங்களுக்காகவும், உம்முடைய விருப்பத்தின்படியெல்லாம் நான் செய்வேன். And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.

9 என் வேலைக்காரர் லீபனோனில் இருந்து அவைகளை இறக்கிக் கடலிலே கொண்டுவருவார்கள்; அங்கே நான் அவைகளைத் தெப்பங்களாகக் கட்டி, நீர் நியமிக்கும் இடத்துக்குக் கடல்வழியாய் அனுப்பி, அவைகளை அவிழ்த்து ஒப்பிப்பேன்; அங்கே நீர் அவைகளை ஒப்புக்கொண்டு என் ஜனங்களுக்கு ஆகாரங்கொடுத்து, என் விருப்பத்தின்படி செய்யவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான். My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon unto the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats unto the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.

10 அப்படியே ஈராம் சாலொமோனுக்கு வேண்டியமட்டும் கேதுருமரங்களையும் தேவதாரி விருட்சங்களையும் கொடுத்துக் கொண்டுவந்தான். So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.

11 சாலொமோன் ஈராமின் அரமனைக்குப் போஜனத்திற்காக இருபதினாயிரக்கலம் கோதுமையையும், இடித்துப்பிழிந்த ஒலிவமரங்களின் இருபதுகல எண்ணெயையும் கொடுத்தான்; இப்படிச் சாலொமோன் ஈராமுக்கு வருஷாந்தரம் கொடுத்துவந்தான். And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

12 கர்த்தர் சாலொமோனுக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்தபடியே அவனுக்கு ஞானத்தைத் தந்தருளினார்; ஈராமுக்கும் சாலொமோனுக்கும் சமாதானம் உண்டாயிருந்து, இருவரும் உடன்படிக்கை பண்ணிக்கொண்டார்கள். And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.

13 ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் இஸ்ரவேலரெல்லாரிலும் ஊழியத்துக்கு முப்பதினாயிரம் அமஞ்சி ஆட்களைப் பிடித்தான். And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.

14 அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு மாத்திற்குப் பதினாயிரம்பேரை மாற்றி மாற்றி, லீபனோனுக்கு அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் ஒரு மாதம் லீபனோனிலும், இரண்டு மாதம் தங்கள் வீடுகளிலும் இருப்பார்கள்; அதோனீராம் அந்த அமஞ்சி ஆட்களின்மேல் விசாரிப்புக்காரனாயிருந்தான். And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.

15 சாலொமோனிடத்தில் சுமை சுமக்கிறவர்கள் எழுபதினாயிரம்பேரும், மலைகளில் மரம் வெட்டுகிறவர்கள் எண்பதினாயிரபேரும், And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;

16 இவர்களைத்தவிர வேலையை விசாரித்து வேலையாட்களைக் கண்காணிக்கிறதற்கு தலைமையான விசாரிப்புக்காரர் மூவாயிரத்து முந்நூறுபேரும் இருந்தார்கள். Beside the chief of Solomon's officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.

17 வெட்டின கல்லால் ஆலயத்துக்கு அஸ்திபாரம் போட, பெரிதும் விலையேறப்பெற்றதுமான கற்களைக் கொண்டுவர ராஜா கட்டளையிட்டான். And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.

18 ஆலயத்தைக் கட்ட, சாலொமோனின் சிற்பாசாரிகளும், ஈராமின் சிற்பாசாரிகளும், கிபலி ஊராரும், அந்த மரங்களையும் கற்களையும் வெட்டி ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினார்கள். And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did hew them, and the stonesquarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.

1 Saalomonai avanutaiya pithaavin sthaanaththil raajaavaaka apishaekam pannnninaarkal entu theeruvin raajaavaakiya eeraam kaelvippattu, than ooliyakkaararai avanidaththil anuppinaan; eeraam Davidkkuch sakalanaalum sinaekithanaayirunthaan. And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.

2 Appoluthu saalomon eeraaminidaththil aatkalai anuppi: And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,

3 En thakappanaakiya thaaveethin saththurukkalaik Karththar avarutaiya paathangalukkuk geelppaduththividumalavum, avarkal thammaich suttilum seykira yuththaththinaal, avar thammutaiya thaevanaakiya karththarutaiya naamaththirku aalayaththaik katta, avarukkuk koodaathirunthathu entu neer arinthirukkireer. Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.

4 Aanaalum ippolutho en thaevanaakiya Karththar engum enakku ilaippaaraுthalaith thanthaar; virothiyum illai, itaiyooraுm illai. But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.

5 Aakaiyaal: naan un sthaanaththil un singaasanaththinmael vaikkum un kumaaranae en naamaththirku aalayaththaik kattuvaan entu Karththar en thakappanaakiya thaaveethinidaththil sonnapatiyae, en thaevanaakiya karththarin naamaththirku aalayaththaik kattavaenndum entu irukkiraேn. And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

6 Aathalaal leepanonil enakkaaka kaethurumarangalai vettak kattalaiyidum; seethoniyaraippola maravettu vaelai arinthavarkal engalukkullae oruvarumillai enpathu umakkuth theriyum; atharkaaka en vaelaikkaarar ummutaiya vaelaikkaararotae iruppaarkal; neer solvathinpatiyellaam ummutaiya vaelaikkaararin sampalaththai umakkuk koduppaen entu sollach sonnaan. Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that there is not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.

7 Eeraam saalomonin vaarththaikalaik kaettapothu, mikavum santhoshappattu: antha aeraalamaana janangalai aalumpati, Davidkku oru njaanamulla kumaaranaik koduththa Karththar intu sthoththirikkappaduvaaraaka entu solli; And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, which hath given unto David a wise son over this great people.

8 Eeraam saalomonidaththil manusharai anuppi: neer enakkuch solliyanuppina kaariyaththai naan kaettaேn; kaethurumarangalukkaakavum, thaevathaari virutchangalukkaakavum, ummutaiya viruppaththinpatiyellaam naan seyvaen. And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: and I will do all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.

9 En vaelaikkaarar leepanonil irunthu avaikalai irakkik kadalilae konnduvaruvaarkal; angae naan avaikalaith theppangalaakak katti, neer niyamikkum idaththukkuk kadalvaliyaay anuppi, avaikalai avilththu oppippaen; angae neer avaikalai oppukkonndu en janangalukku aakaarangaொduththu, en viruppaththinpati seyyavaenndum entu sollachchaொnnaan. 10 Appatiyae eeraam saalomonukku vaenntiyamattum kaethurumarangalaiyum thaevathaari virutchangalaiyum koduththuk konnduvanthaan. So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees according to all his desire.

11 Saalomon eeraamin aramanaikkup pojanaththirkaaka irupathinaayirakkalam kothumaiyaiyum, itiththuppilintha olivamarangalin irupathukala ennnneyaiyum koduththaan; ippatich saalomon eeraamukku varushaantharam koduththuvanthaan. And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.

12 Karththar saalomonukkuch solliyirunthapatiyae avanukku njaanaththaith thantharulinaar; eeraamukkum saalomonukkum samaathaanam unndaayirunthu, iruvarum udanpatikkai pannnnikkonndaarkal. And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.

13 Raajaavaakiya saalomon isravaelarellaarilum ooliyaththukku muppathinaayiram amanji aatkalaip pitiththaan. And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.

14 Avarkalil ovvoru maaththirkup pathinaayirampaerai maatti maatti, leepanonukku anuppinaan; avarkal oru maatham leepanonilum, iranndu maatham thangal veedukalilum iruppaarkal; athoneeraam antha amanji aatkalinmael visaarippukkaaranaayirunthaan. And he sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home: and Adoniram was over the levy.

15 Saalomonidaththil sumai sumakkiravarkal elupathinaayirampaerum, malaikalil maram vettukiravarkal ennpathinaayirapaerum, And Solomon had threescore and ten thousand that bare burdens, and fourscore thousand hewers in the mountains;

16 Ivarkalaiththavira vaelaiyai visaariththu vaelaiyaatkalaik kannkaannikkiratharku thalaimaiyaana visaarippukkaarar moovaayiraththu munnooraுpaerum irunthaarkal. Beside the chief of Solomon's officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.

17 Vettina kallaal aalayaththukku asthipaaram poda, perithum vilaiyaerappettathumaana karkalaik konnduvara raajaa kattalaiyittan. And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.

18 Aalayaththaik katta, saalomonin sirpaasaarikalum, eeraamin sirpaasaarikalum, kipali ooraarum, antha marangalaiyum karkalaiyum vetti aayaththappaduththinaarkal. And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did hew them, and the stonesquarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.
