அப்பொழுது அதிபதிகளுக்குத் தலைவனான அமாசாயின்மேல் ஆவி இறங்கினதினால், அவன்: தாவீதே, நாங்கள் உம்முடையவர்கள்; ஈசாயின் குமாரனே உமது பட்சமாயிருப்போம்; உமக்குச் சமாதானம், சமாதானம்; உமக்கு உதவிசெய்கிறவர்களுக்கும் சமாதானம்; உம்முடைய தேவன் உமக்குத் துணை நிற்கிறார் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது தாவீது அவர்களைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்களைத் தண்டுக்குத் தலைவராக்கினான்.

முப்பது வீரர்களின் தலைவன் அமாசாயி, அவன் மேல் ஆவி வந்து இறங்கியது. அதனால் அவன், “தாவீது! நாங்கள் உம்முடையவர்கள், ஈசாயின் மகனே! நாங்கள் உம்மோடு இருப்போம், சமாதானம், உனக்குச் சமாதானம்! ஏனென்றால் உன் தேவன் உனக்கு உதவுகிறார்!” என்றான். எனவே தாவீது அவர்களை வரவேற்றான். அவர்களைப் படைக்குத் தலைவர்களாக்கினான்.

Appoluthu athipathikalukkuth thalaivanaana amaasaayinmael aavi iranginathinaal, avan: thaaveethae, naangal ummutaiyavarkal; eesaayin kumaaranae umathu patchamaayiruppom; umakkuch samaathaanam, samaathaanam; umakku uthaviseykiravarkalukkum samaathaanam; ummutaiya Dhevan umakkuth thunnai nirkiraar entan; appoluthu David avarkalaich serththukkonndu, avarkalaith thanndukkuth thalaivaraakkinaan.
