அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் சாத்தானை நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வாராக; சாத்தானே, எருசலேமைத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட கர்த்தர் உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வாராக; இவன் அக்கினியினின்று தப்புவிக்கப்பட்ட கொள்ளி அல்லவா என்றார்.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் சாத்தானை நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வாராக; சாத்தானே, எருசலேமைத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட கர்த்தர் உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வாராக; இவன் அக்கினியிலிருந்து தப்புவிக்கப்பட்ட கொள்ளி அல்லவா என்றார்.

பிறகு கர்த்தருடைய தூதன், “சாத்தானே, கர்த்தர் உன்னை தொடர்ந்து குற்றஞ்சாட்டுவார். கர்த்தர் எருசலேமைத் தனது சிறப்புக்குரிய நகரமாகத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருக்கிறார். அவர் நகரைக் காப்பாற்றினார். இது எரிகின்ற நெருப்பிலிருந்து கட்டையை உருவி எடுப்பது போன்றதாகும்” என்றான்.
