மேலேயிருந்து ஓடிவருகிற தண்ணீர் நின்று சார்தானுக்கடுத்த ஆதாம் ஊர்வரைக்கும் ஒரு குவியலாகக் குவிந்தது; உப்புக்கடல் என்னும் சமனான வெளியின் கடலுக்கு ஓடிவருகிற தண்ணீர் பிரிந்து ஓடிற்று; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எரிகோவுக்கு எதிரே கடந்து போனார்கள்.

உடனே, தண்ணீர் ஓடாமல் நின்று ஒரு அணைபோல் தேங்கிக்கொண்டது. (யோர்தான் அருகிலுள்ள ஊராகிய) ஆதாம் வரைக்கும் நதியின் தண்ணீர் குவிந்து நின்றது. எரிகோ அருகே ஜனங்கள் நதியைக் கடந்தனர்.

மேற்பகுதியிலிருந்து வந்த நீர், சாரத்தானின் அருகில் இருந்து ஆதாம் நகருக்கு எதிரில் வெகு தொலையில் மேலெழும்பி நின்றது. கீழே ஓடிய நீர் பாலைநிலக் கடலாகிய சாக்கடல்** வரை ஓடிமறைந்தது. மக்களும் எரிகோவுக்கு நேர்எதிராகக் கடந்து சென்றனர்.

Maelaeyirunthu otivarukira thannnneer nintu saarthaanukkaduththa aathaam oorvaraikkum oru kuviyalaakak kuvinthathu; uppukkadal ennum samanaana veliyin kadalukku otivarukira thannnneer pirinthu otittaு; appoluthu janangal erikovukku ethirae kadanthu ponaarkal.
