அவன் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணும் ஒன்பதாம் வருஷம் பத்தாம் மாதம் பத்தாந்தேதியிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரும், அவனுடைய எல்லா இராணுவமும் எருசலேமுக்கு விரோதமாய் வந்து, அதற்கு எதிராகப் பாளயமிறங்கி, சுற்றிலும் அதற்கு எதிராகக் கொத்தளங்களைக் கட்டினார்கள்.

எனவே, சிதேக்கியாவின் 9வது ஆட்சியாண்டின் பத்தாவது மாதத்தின் பத்தாவது நாளில் பாபிலோன் அரசனான நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் எருசலேமிற்கு எதிராகப் படையெடுத்தான். நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரோடு அவனது முழுப்படையும் இருந்தது. பாபிலோனின் படையானது எருசலேமிற்கு வெளியே முகாமிட்டது. நகரச் சுவரைச் சுற்றிலும் அவர்கள் மதிற்சுவர்களைக் கட்டினார்கள். எனவே அவர்களால் சுவரைத் தாண்ட முடிந்தது.
