நகரத்தின் மதில் இடிக்கப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது கல்தேயர் நகரத்தைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கையில், யுத்தமனுஷர் எல்லாரும் இராத்திரிகாலத்தில் ஓடி, ராஜாவுடைய தோட்டத்தின் வழியே இரண்டு மதில்களுக்கும் நடுவான வாசலால் நகரத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, வயல்வெளியின் வழியே போய்விட்டார்கள்.

நகரத்தின் மதில் இடிக்கப்பட்டது; அப்பொழுது கல்தேயர் நகரத்தைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கும்போது, போர்வீரர்கள் எல்லோரும் இரவுநேரத்தில் ஓடி, ராஜாவின் தோட்டத்தின் வழியே இரண்டு மதில்களுக்கும் நடுவிலுள்ள வழியாக நகரத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, வயல்வெளியின் வழியே போய்விட்டார்கள்.

அந்த நாளில் பாபிலோனின் படை எருசலேமிற்குள் நுழைந்தது. எருசலேமிலுள்ள வீரர்கள் வெளியே ஓடினார்கள். அவர்கள் இரவில் நகரைவிட்டு ஓடினார்கள். இரண்டு சுவர்களுக்கு இடையில் உள்ள வாசல் வழியாக அவர்கள் போனார்கள். அந்த வாசல் அரசனின் தோட்டத்திற்கு அருகில் இருந்தது. பாபிலோனின் படை நகரை முற்றுகையிட்டிருந்தபோதிலும் எருசலேம் வீரர்கள் மேலும் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்கள் வனாந்தரத்தின் வழியாக ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது நகர மதிலில் ஒரு திறப்பு உண்டாக்கப்பட்டது. போர்வீரர் அனைவரும் அரசப் பூங்காவின் இரு மதில்களுக்கிடையே அமைந்த வாயில் வழியாக இரவோடு இரவாய் நகரைவிட்டு வெளியேறி, அராபாவை நோக்கித் தப்பியோடினர். கல்தேயரோ நகரைச் சுற்றி முற்றுகையிட்டவண்ணம் இருந்தனர்.

Nakaraththin mathil itikkappattathu; appoluthu kalthaeyar nakaraththaich soolnthirukkaiyil, yuththamanushar ellaarum iraaththirikaalaththil oti, raajaavutaiya thottaththin valiyae iranndu mathilkalukkum naduvaana vaasalaal nakaraththilirunthu purappattu, vayalveliyin valiyae poyvittarkal.
