1தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உண்டாக்கின சகல காட்டு ஜீவன்களைப் பார்க்கிலும் சர்ப்பமானது தந்திரமுள்ளதாயிருந்தது. அது ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் தோட்டத்திலுள்ள சகல விருட்சங்களின் கனியையும் புசிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று தேவன் சொன்னது உண்டோ என்றது.Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2ஸ்திரீ சர்ப்பத்தைப் பார்த்து: நாங்கள் தோட்டத்தில் உள்ள விருட்சங்களின் கனிகளைப் புசிக்கலாம்;And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3ஆனாலும் தோட்டத்தின் நடுவில் இருக்கிற விருட்சத்தின் கனியைக் குறித்து, தேவன்: நீங்கள் சாகாதபடிக்கு அதைப் புசிக்கவும் அதைத் தொடவும் வேண்டாம் என்று சொன்னார் என்றாள்.But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4அப்பொழுது சர்ப்பம் ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் சாகவே சாவதில்லை;And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5நீங்கள் இதைப் புசிக்கும் நாளிலே உங்கள் கண்கள் திறக்கப்படும் என்றும், நீங்கள் நன்மை தீமை அறிந்து தேவர்களைப்போல் இருப்பீர்கள் என்றும் தேவன் அறிவார் என்றது.For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6அப்பொழுது ஸ்திரீயானவள் அந்த விருட்சம் புசிப்புக்கு நல்லதும், பார்வைக்கு இன்பமும், புத்தியைத்தெளிவிக்கிறதற்கு இச்சிக்கப்படத்தக்க விருட்சமுமாய் இருக்கிறது என்று கண்டு, அதின் கனியைப் பறித்து, புசித்து, தன் புருஷனுக்கும் கொடுத்தாள்; அவனும் புசித்தான்.And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இருவருடைய கண்களும் திறக்கப்பட்டது; அவர்கள் தாங்கள் நிர்வாணிகள் என்று அறிந்து, அத்தியிலைகளைத் தைத்து, தங்களுக்கு அரைக்கச்சைகளை உண்டுபண்ணினார்கள்.And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8பகலில் குளிர்ச்சியான வேளையிலே தோட்டத்தில் உலாவுகிற தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சத்தத்தை அவர்கள் கேட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது ஆதாமும் அவன் மனைவியும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதிக்கு விலகி, தோட்டத்தின் விருட்சங்களுக்குள்ளே ஒளித்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9அப்பொழுது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஆதாமைக் கூப்பிட்டு: நீ எங்கே இருக்கிறாய் என்றார்.And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10அதற்கு அவன்: நான் தேவரீருடைய சத்தத்தைத் தோட்டத்திலே கேட்டு, நான் நிர்வாணியாய் இருப்பதினால் பயந்து, ஒளித்துக்கொண்டேன் என்றான்.And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11அப்பொழுது அவர்: நீ நிர்வாணி என்று உனக்கு அறிவித்தவன் யார்? புசிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று நான் உனக்கு விலக்கின விருட்சத்தின் கனியைப் புசித்தாயோ என்றார்.And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12அதற்கு ஆதாம்: என்னுடனே இருக்கும்படி தேவரீர் தந்த ஸ்திரீயானவள் அவ்விருட்சத்தின் கனியை எனக்குக் கொடுத்தாள், நான் புசித்தேன் என்றான்.And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13அப்பொழுது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: நீ இப்படிச்செய்தது என்ன என்றார். ஸ்திரீயானவள் சர்ப்பம் என்னை வஞ்சித்தது, நான் புசித்தேன் என்றாள்.And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14அப்பொழுது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் சர்ப்பத்தைப்பார்த்து: நீ இதைச் செய்தபடியால் சகல நாட்டு மிருகங்களிலும் சகல காட்டுமிருகங்களிலும் சபிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பாய், நீ உன் வயிற்றினால் நகர்ந்து, உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் மண்ணைத்தின்பாய்;And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15உனக்கும் ஸ்திரீக்கும், உன் வித்துக்கும் அவள் வித்துக்கும் பகை உண்டாக்குவேன்; அவர் உன் தலையை நசுக்குவார், நீ அவர் குதிங்காலை நசுக்குவாய் என்றார்.And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16அவர் ஸ்திரீயை நோக்கி: நீ கர்ப்பவதியாயிருக்கும்போது உன் வேதனையை மிகவும் பெருகப்பண்ணுவேன்; வேதனையோடே பிள்ளை பெறுவாய்; உன் ஆசை உன் புருஷனைப் பற்றியிருக்கும், அவன் உன்னை ஆண்டு கொள்ளுவான் என்றார்.Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17பின்பு அவர் ஆதாமை நோக்கி: நீ உன் மனைவியின் வார்த்தைக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, புசிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று நான் உனக்கு விலக்கின விருட்சத்தின் கனியைப் புசித்தபடியினாலே, பூமி உன் நிமித்தம் சபிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும்; நீ உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் வருத்தத்தோடே அதின் பலனைப் புசிப்பாய்.And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18அது உனக்கு முள்ளும் குருக்கும் முளைப்பிக்கும்; வெளியின் பயிர்வகைகளைப் புசிப்பாய்.Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19நீ பூமியிலிருந்து எடுக்கப்பட்டபடியால், நீ பூமிக்குத் திரும்புமட்டும் உன் முகத்தின் வேர்வையால் ஆகாரம் புசிப்பாய்; நீ மண்ணாயிருக்கிறாய், மண்ணுக்குத் திரும்புவாய் என்றார்.In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20ஆதாம் தன் மனைவிக்கு ஏவாள் என்று பேரிட்டான்; ஏனெனில், அவள் ஜீவனுள்ளோருக்கெல்லாம் தாயானவள்.And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஆதாமுக்கும் அவன் மனைவிக்கும் தோல் உடைகளை உண்டாக்கி அவர்களுக்கு உடுத்தினார்.Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22பின்பு தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்: இதோ, மனுஷன் நன்மை தீமை அறியத்தக்கவனாய் நம்மில் ஒருவரைப்போல் ஆனான்; இப்பொழுதும் அவன் தன் கையை நீட்டி ஜீவவிருட்சத்தின் கனியையும் பறித்து, புசித்து, என்றைக்கும் உயிரோடிராதபடிக்குச் செய்யவேண்டும் என்று,And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23அவன் எடுக்கப்பட்ட மண்ணைப் பண்படுத்த தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவனை ஏதேன் தோட்டத்திலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிட்டார்.Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
1Thaevanaakiya Karththar unndaakkina sakala kaattu jeevankalaip paarkkilum sarppamaanathu thanthiramullathaayirunthathu. Athu sthireeyai Nnokki: neengal thottaththilulla sakala virutchangalin kaniyaiyum pusikkavaenndaam entu Dhevan sonnathu unntoo entathu.Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2Sthiree sarppaththaip paarththu: naangal thottaththil ulla virutchangalin kanikalaip pusikkalaam;And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3Aanaalum thottaththin naduvil irukkira virutchaththin kaniyaik kuriththu, Dhevan: neengal saakaathapatikku athaip pusikkavum athaith thodavum vaenndaam entu sonnaar ental.But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4Appoluthu sarppam sthireeyai Nnokki: neengal saakavae saavathillai;And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5Neengal ithaip pusikkum naalilae ungal kannkal thirakkappadum entum, neengal nanmai theemai arinthu thaevarkalaippol iruppeerkal entum Dhevan arivaar entathu.For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6Appoluthu sthireeyaanaval antha virutcham pusippukku nallathum, paarvaikku inpamum, puththiyaiththelivikkiratharku ichchikkappadaththakka virutchamumaay irukkirathu entu kanndu, athin kaniyaip pariththu, pusiththu, than purushanukkum koduththaal; avanum pusiththaan.And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7Appoluthu avarkal iruvarutaiya kannkalum thirakkappattathu; avarkal thaangal nirvaannikal entu arinthu, aththiyilaikalaith thaiththu, thangalukku araikkachchaைkalai unndupannnninaarkal.And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8Pakalil kulirchchiyaana vaelaiyilae thottaththil ulaavukira thaevanaakiya karththarutaiya saththaththai avarkal kaettarkal. Appoluthu aathaamum avan manaiviyum thaevanaakiya karththarutaiya sannithikku vilaki, thottaththin virutchangalukkullae oliththukkonndaarkal.And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9Appoluthu thaevanaakiya Karththar aathaamaik kooppittu: nee engae irukkiraay entar.And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10Atharku avan: naan thaevareerutaiya saththaththaith thottaththilae kaettu, naan nirvaanniyaay iruppathinaal payanthu, oliththukkonntaen entan.And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11Appoluthu avar: nee nirvaanni entu unakku ariviththavan yaar? Pusikkavaenndaam entu naan unakku vilakkina virutchaththin kaniyaip pusiththaayo entar.And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12Atharku aathaam: ennudanae irukkumpati thaevareer thantha sthireeyaanaval avvirutchaththin kaniyai enakkuk koduththaal, naan pusiththaen entan.And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13Appoluthu thaevanaakiya Karththar sthireeyai Nnokki: nee ippatichcheythathu enna entar. Sthireeyaanaval sarppam ennai vanjiththathu, naan pusiththaen ental.And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14Appoluthu thaevanaakiya Karththar sarppaththaippaarththu: nee ithaich seythapatiyaal sakala naattu mirukangalilum sakala kaattumirukangalilum sapikkappattiruppaay, nee un vayittinaal nakarnthu, uyirotirukkum naalellaam mannnnaiththinpaay;And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15Unakkum sthireekkum, un viththukkum aval viththukkum pakai unndaakkuvaen; avar un thalaiyai nasukkuvaar, nee avar kuthingaalai nasukkuvaay entar.And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16Avar sthireeyai Nnokki: nee karppavathiyaayirukkumpothu un vaethanaiyai mikavum perukappannnuvaen; vaethanaiyotae pillai peraுvaay; un aasai un purushanaip pattiyirukkum, avan unnai aanndu kolluvaan entar.Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17Pinpu avar aathaamai Nnokki: nee un manaiviyin vaarththaikkuch sevikoduththu, pusikkavaenndaam entu naan unakku vilakkina virutchaththin kaniyaip pusiththapatiyinaalae, poomi un nimiththam sapikkappattirukkum; nee uyirotirukkum naalellaam varuththaththotae athin palanaip pusippaay.And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18Athu unakku mullum kurukkum mulaippikkum; veliyin payirvakaikalaip pusippaay.Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19Nee poomiyilirunthu edukkappattapatiyaal, nee poomikkuth thirumpumattum un mukaththin vaervaiyaal aakaaram pusippaay; nee mannnnaayirukkiraay, mannnukkuth thirumpuvaay entar.In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20Aathaam than manaivikku aevaal entu paerittan; aenenil, aval jeevanullorukkellaam thaayaanaval.And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21Thaevanaakiya Karththar aathaamukkum avan manaivikkum thol utaikalai unndaakki avarkalukku uduththinaar.Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

23Avan edukkappatta mannnnaip pannpaduththa thaevanaakiya Karththar avanai aethaen thottaththilirunthu anuppivittar.Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
