அப்பொழுது ஸ்திரீயானவள் அந்த விருட்சம் புசிப்புக்கு நல்லதும், பார்வைக்கு இன்பமும், புத்தியைத்தெளிவிக்கிறதற்கு இச்சிக்கப்படத்தக்க விருட்சமுமாய் இருக்கிறது என்று கண்டு, அதின் கனியைப் பறித்து, புசித்து, தன் புருஷனுக்கும் கொடுத்தாள்; அவனும் புசித்தான்.

அப்பொழுது அந்தப் பெண், அந்த மரத்தின் பழம் சாப்பிடுவதற்கு நல்லதும், பார்வைக்கு இன்பமும், புத்தியைத் தெளிவிக்கிறதற்கு ஆசைப்படத்தக்க பழமுமாக இருக்கிறது என்று கண்டு, அந்தப் பழத்தைப் பறித்து, சாப்பிட்டு, தன் கணவனுக்கும் கொடுத்தாள்; அவனும் சாப்பிட்டான்.

she took וַתִּקַּ֥ח lāqaḥ la-KAHK
of the fruit thereof, מִפִּרְי֖וֹ pĕrî peh-REE
and did eat, וַתֹּאכַ֑ל ʾākal ah-HAHL
and gave וַתִּתֵּ֧ן nātan na-TAHN
also גַּם gam ɡahm
unto her husband לְאִישָׁ֛הּ ʾĕnôš ay-NOHSH
with עִמָּ֖הּ ʿim eem
her; and he did eat. וַיֹּאכַֽל׃ ʾākal ah-HAHL
