எப்படியெனில், யாக்கோபினிடத்திலிருந்து சிலர் வருகிறதற்குமுன் அவன் புறஜாதியாருடனே சாப்பிட்டான்; அவர்கள் வந்தபோதோ, விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவர்களுக்குப் பயந்து, விலகிப் பிரிந்தான்.

எப்படியென்றால், யாக்கோபினிடமிருந்து சிலர் வருகிறதற்கு முன்பே அவன் யூதரல்லாத மக்களோடு சாப்பிட்டான்; அவர்கள் வந்தபோதோ, விருத்தசேதனம் உள்ளவர்களுக்குப் பயந்து, விலகிப் பிரிந்தான்.

அந்தியோகியாவுக்கு அவர் வந்தபோது, யூதர் அல்லாதவர்களோடு அவர் சேர்ந்தார். அவர்களோடு உணவு உட்கொண்டார். ஆனால் யாக்கோபிடமிருந்து அனுப்பியிருந்த சில யூதர்கள் வந்தபோது, யூதர் அல்லாதவர்களோடு சேர்ந்து உணவு உண்ணப் பேதுரு மறுத்துவிட்டார். அவர்களிடமிருந்து விலகிக்கொண்டார். அவர் யூதர்களுக்குப் பயந்துவிட்டார். ஏனென்றால் யூதர்கள், யூதர் அல்லாதவர்களும் விருத்தசேதனம் செய்துகொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று நம்புகின்றவர்கள்.
