1அவன் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணும் ஒன்பதாம் வருஷம் பத்தாம் மாதம் பத்தாந்தேதியிலே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரும் அவனுடைய எல்லா இராணுவமும் எருசலேமுக்கு விரோதமாய் வந்து, அதற்கு எதிரே பாளயமிறங்கி, சுற்றிலும் அதற்கு எதிராகக் கொத்தளங்களைக் கட்டினார்கள்.And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.
2அப்படியே சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவின் பதினோராம் வருஷமட்டும் நகரம் முற்றிக்கை போடப்பட்டிருந்தது.And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
3நாலாம் மாதம் ஒன்பதாந்தேதியிலே பஞ்சம் நகரத்திலே அதிகரித்து, தேசத்தின் ஜனத்திற்கு ஆகாரம் இல்லாமற்போயிற்று; நகரத்தின் மதிலில் திறப்பு கண்டது.And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.
4அப்பொழுது கல்தேயர் நகரத்தைச் சூழ்ந்திருக்கையில், யுத்தமனுஷர் எல்லாரும் இராத்திரிகாலத்தில் ராஜாவுடைய தோட்டத்தின் வழியாய் இரண்டு மதில்களுக்கு நடுவான வாசலால் தப்பி, அவர்களும் ராஜாவுமாய் சமனான பூமியை நோக்கி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king's garden: (now the Chaldees were against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain.

6அவர்கள் ராஜாவைப் பிடித்து, அவனை ரிப்லாவிலிருக்கிற பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அவனை நியாயந்தீர்த்து,So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.

9கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தையும், ராஜாவின் அரமனையையும், எருசலேமின் சகல கட்டடங்களையும், பெரிய வீடுகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்து விட்டான்.And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire.
10காவல் சேனாபதியோடிருந்த கல்தேயரின் இராணுவத்தாரெல்லாரும் எருசலேமைச் சுற்றிலும் இருந்த அலங்கங்களை இடித்துப்போட்டார்கள்.And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.
11நகரத்தில் மீதியான மற்ற ஜனத்தையும், பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் வசமாக ஓடி வந்துவிட்டவர்களையும், மற்ற ஜனக்கூட்டத்தையும், காவல் சேனாபதியாகிய நெபுசராதான் சிறைகளாகக் கொண்டு போனான்.Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away.
12தேசத்தில் ஏழையான சிலரைத் திராட்சத்தோட்டக்காரராகவும் பயிரிடுங்குடிகளாகவும் விட்டிருந்தான்.But the captain of the guard left of the door of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.
13கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலிருந்த வெண்கலத் தூண்களையும், அதிலிருந்த ஆதாரங்களையும், கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலிருந்த வெண்கலக் கடல்தொட்டியையும், கல்தேயர் உடைத்துப் போட்டு, அவைகளின் வெண்கலத்தைப் பாபிலோனுக்கு எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.
14செப்புச்சட்டிகளையும், சாம்பல் பாத்திரங்களையும், கத்திகளையும், தூபகலசங்களையும், ஆராதனைக்கடுத்த சகல வெண்கலப் பணிமுட்டுகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
15சுத்தப் பொன்னும் சுத்த வெள்ளியுமான தூபகலசங்களையும் கலங்களையும் காவல் சேனாபதி எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்.And the firepans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.
16சாலொமோன் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்காகப் பண்ணுவித்த இரண்டு தூண்களும், ஒரு கடல்தொட்டியும் ஆதரங்களுமாகிய அந்தச் சகல பணிமுட்டுகளுடைய வெண்கலத்திற்கும் நிறையில்லை.The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.

18காவல் சேனாபதி பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய செராயாவையும், இரண்டாம் ஆசாரியனாகிய செப்பனியாவையும், வாசல்காக்கும் மூன்று காவற்காரரையும் பிடித்தான்.And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
19நகரத்திலே அவன் யுத்த மனுஷரின் விசாரிப்புக்காரனாகிய பிரதானி ஒருவனையும், ராஜாவின் மந்திரிகளிலே நகரத்தில் அகப்பட்ட ஐந்துபேரையும், தேசத்தின் ஜனத்தைச் சேவகம் எழுதுகிற தலைவனான இராணுவச்சம்பிரதியையும், தேசஜனத்திலே நகரத்தில் அகப்பட்ட அறுபதுபேரையும் பிடித்தான்.And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the men of war, and five men of them that were in the king's presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
20அவர்களைக் காவல் சேனாபதியாகிய நெபுசராதான் பிடித்து, ரிப்லாவில் இருக்கிற பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினிடத்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோனான்.And Nebuzaradan captain of the guard took these, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah:
21அவர்களைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜா ஆமாத் தேசத்தின் பட்டணமான ரிப்லாவிலே வெட்டிக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; இப்படியே யூதா ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் தேசத்திலிருந்து சிறையிருப்புக்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள்.And the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.
22பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார், யூதேயாதேசத்தில் மீதியாக வைத்த ஜனத்தின்மேல், சாப்பானின் குமாரனாகிய அகீக்காமின் மகன் கெதலியாவை அதிகாரியாக வைத்தான்.And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.

24அப்பொழுது கெதலியா அவர்களுக்கும்; அவர்கள் மனுஷருக்கும் ஆணையிட்டு: நீங்கள் கல்தேயரைச் சேவிக்கப் பயப்படவேண்டாம்; தேசத்திலிருந்து பாபிலோன் ராஜாவைச் சேவியுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கு நன்மை உண்டாகும் என்றான்.And Gedaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you.
25ஏழாம் மாதத்திலே, ராஜவம்சத்திலே பிறந்த எலிசாமாவின் குமாரனாகிய நெத்தனியாவின் குமாரன் இஸ்மவேல் பத்து மனுஷரோடேகூட வந்து, கெதலியாவையும், அவனோடே மிஸ்பாவிலிருந்த யூதரையும், கல்தேயரையும் வெட்டிக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.
26அப்பொழுது சிறியோரும் பெரியோருமாகிய ஜனங்கள் யாவரும் சேனாபதிகளும் கல்தேருக்குப் பயந்ததினாலே எழுந்து; புறப்பட்டு எகிப்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.And all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the armies, arose, and came to Egypt: for they were afraid of the Chaldees.
27யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனுடைய சிறையிருப்பின் முப்பத்தேழாம்; வருஷம் பன்னிரண்டாம் மாதம் இருபத்தேழாந்தேதியிலே, ஏவில்யெரொதாக் என்னும் பாபிலோன் ராஜா, தான் ராஜாவான வருஷத்திலே, யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோயாக்கீனைச் சிறைச்சாலையிலிருந்து, புறப்படப்பண்ணி, அவன் தலையை உயர்த்தி,And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;

5Kalthaeyarin iraanuvaththaar raajaavaip pin thodarnthu erikovin samanaana poomiyil avanaip pitiththaarkal; appoluthu avanutaiya iraanuvamellaam avanai vittuch sitharippoyittaு.And the army of the Chaldees pursued after the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho: and all his army were scattered from him.
6Avarkal raajaavaip pitiththu, avanai riplaavilirukkira paapilon raajaavinidaththukkuk konndupoy, avanai niyaayantheerththu,So they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him.
7Sithaekkiyaavin kumaararai avan kannkalukku munpaaka vetti, sithaekkiyaavin kannkalaik kurudaakki, avanukku iranndu vennkala vilangukalaip pottu, avanaip paapilonukkuk konnduponaarkal.And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon.
8Ainthaam maatham aelaanthaethiyilae naepukaathnaechchaாr ennum paapilon raajaavin paththonpathaam varushaththilae, paapilon raajaavin ooliyakkaaranaakiya nepusaraathaan ennum kaaval senaapathi erusalaemukku vanthu,And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
9Karththarutaiya aalayaththaiyum, raajaavin aramanaiyaiyum, erusalaemin sakala kattadangalaiyum, periya veedukal ellaavattaைyum akkiniyaal sutteriththu vittan.And he burnt the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire.
10Kaaval senaapathiyotiruntha kalthaeyarin iraanuvaththaarellaarum erusalaemaich suttilum iruntha alangangalai itiththuppottarkal.And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.
11Nakaraththil meethiyaana matta janaththaiyum, paapilon raajaavin vasamaaka oti vanthuvittavarkalaiyum, matta janakkoottaththaiyum, kaaval senaapathiyaakiya nepusaraathaan siraikalaakak konndu ponaan.Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away.
12Thaesaththil aelaiyaana silaraith thiraatchaththottakkaararaakavum payiridungutikalaakavum vittirunthaan.But the captain of the guard left of the door of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and husbandmen.

14Seppuchchattikalaiyum, saampal paaththirangalaiyum, kaththikalaiyum, thoopakalasangalaiyum, aaraathanaikkaduththa sakala vennkalap pannimuttukalaiyum eduththukkonndaarkal.And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.

So Judah was carried away out of their land.
22Paapilon raajaavaakiya naepukaathnaechchaாr, yoothaeyaathaesaththil meethiyaaka vaiththa janaththinmael, saappaanin kumaaranaakiya ageekkaamin makan kethaliyaavai athikaariyaaka vaiththaan.And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.

25Aelaam maathaththilae, raajavamsaththilae pirantha elisaamaavin kumaaranaakiya neththaniyaavin kumaaran ismavael paththu manusharotaekooda vanthu, kethaliyaavaiyum, avanotae mispaaviliruntha yootharaiyum, kalthaeyaraiyum vettik kontupottan.But it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the seed royal, came, and ten men with him, and smote Gedaliah, that he died, and the Jews and the Chaldees that were with him at Mizpah.
