ஆமோஸ் 7:17
இதினிமித்தம்: உன் பெண்ஜாதி நகரத்தில் வேசியாவாள்; உன் குமாரரும் உன் குமாரத்திகளும் பட்டயத்தால் விழுவார்கள்; உன் வயல் அளவு நூலால் பங்கிட்டுக்கொள்ளப்படும்; நீயாவெனில் அசுத்தமான தேசத்திலே செத்துப்போவாய்; இஸ்ரவேலும் தன் தேசத்திலிருந்து சிறைபிடிக்கப்பட்டுக் கொண்டுபோகப்படுவான் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

இதனால் உன்னுடைய மனைவி நகரத்தில் விபசாரியாவாள்; உன்னுடைய மகன்களும் உன்னுடைய மகள்களும் வாளால் விழுவார்கள்; உன்னுடைய வயல் அளவு நூலால் பங்கிட்டுக்கொள்ளப்படும்; நீயோவென்றால் அசுத்தமான தேசத்திலே செத்துப்போவாய்; இஸ்ரவேலும் தன்னுடைய தேசத்திலிருந்து சிறைபிடிக்கப்பட்டுக் கொண்டுபோகப்படுவான் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

ஆனால் கர்த்தர் கூறுகிறார்: ‘உன் மனைவி நகரத்தில் விபச்சாரி ஆவாள். உனது மகன்களும் மகள்களும் வாளால் கொல்லப்படுவார்கள். மற்ற ஜனங்கள் உனது நாட்டை எடுத்து தங்களுக்குள் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வார்கள். நீ அயல் நாட்டில் மரணமடைவாய். இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் நிச்சயமாக இந்த நாட்டை விட்டுச் சிறையெடுக்கப்படுவார்கள்.’”

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
