எரேமியா 9:3
அவர்கள் பொய்யைப் பிரயோகிக்கத் தங்கள் நாவாகிய வில்லை வளைக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் இந்தத் தேசத்திலே பலத்துக்கொள்வது சத்தியத்துக்காக அல்ல; பொல்லாப்பிலிருந்து பொல்லாப்புக்கு நடந்தேறுகிறார்கள்; என்னையோ அறியாதிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

அவர்கள் பொய்யைப் பயன்படுத்தத்தக்க தங்கள் நாவாகிய வில்லை வளைக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் இந்தத் தேசத்தில் பலப்படுவது சத்தியத்துக்காக அல்ல; பொல்லாப்பிலிருந்து பொல்லாப்புக்கு முன்னேறுகிறார்கள்; என்னையோ அறியாதிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

“அந்த ஜனங்கள் தங்களது நாக்குகளை வில்லைப்போன்று பயன்படுத்துகின்றனர். அவர்களது வாய்களிலிருந்து பொய்கள் அம்புகளைப்போன்று பறக்கின்றன. இந்த நாட்டில் உண்மைகளல்ல பொய்கள் மிகப் பலமாக வளர்ந்திருக்கின்றன. ஜனங்கள் ஒரு பாவத்திலிருந்து இன்னொரு பாவத்திற்குப் போகிறார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு என்னைத் தெரியாது” கர்த்தர் இவற்றைச் சொல்கிறார்.

⁽பொய்பேசத் தங்கள் நாவை␢ வில்லைப்போல்␢ அவர்கள் வளைக்கின்றனர்;␢ உண்மைக்காக நாட்டில்␢ யாரும் நிமிர்ந்து நிற்பதில்லை;␢ அவர்கள் தீமையிலிருந்து தீமைக்கே␢ சென்று கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்;␢ என்னையோ அவர்கள்␢ அறிந்து கொள்ளவில்லை,␢ என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர்.⁾

And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.

And they bend their tongue, `as it were' their bow, for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith Jehovah.

אֶת ʾēt ate
their tongues לְשׁוֹנָם֙ lāšôn la-SHONE
their bow קַשְׁתָּ֣ם qešet keh-SHET
lies: שֶׁ֔קֶר šeqer sheh-KER
but they are not וְלֹ֥א lōʾ loh
for the truth לֶאֱמוּנָ֖ה ʾĕmûnâ ay-moo-NA
valiant גָּבְר֣וּ gābar ɡa-VAHR
upon the earth; בָאָ֑רֶץ ʾereṣ eh-RETS
for כִּי֩ kî kee
from evil מֵרָעָ֨ה raʿ ra
to אֶל ʾēl ale
evil, רָעָ֧ה׀ raʿ ra
they proceed יָצָ֛אוּ yāṣāʾ ya-TSA
