அந்திப்பலி செலுத்தும் நேரத்திலே, தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய எலியா வந்து: ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, இஸ்ரவேலிலே நீர் தேவன் என்றும், நான் உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரன் என்றும், நான் இந்தக் காரியங்களையெல்லாம் உம்முடைய வார்த்தையின்படி செய்தேன் என்றும் இன்றைக்கு விளங்கப்பண்ணும்.

இது மாலை பலிக்கான நேரம். எனவே பலிபீடத்தின் அருகில் எலியா சென்று, ஜெபம் செய்தான். “கர்த்தாவே, ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, யாக்கோபு ஆகியோரின் தேவனே, நீர்தான் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவன் என்பதை நிரூபியும் என்று நான் இப்போது உம்மைக் கேட்கிறேன். நான் உம்முடைய ஊழியன் என்பதையும் நிரூபியும், நீர்தான் இவற்றை செய்ய கட்டளையிட்டுள்ளீர் என்பதைக் காட்டும்.

the prophet הַנָּבִיא֮ nābîʾ na-VEE
and said, וַיֹּאמַר֒ ʾāmar ah-MAHR
Lord יְהוָ֗ה yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
God אֱלֹהֵי֙ ʾĕlōhîm ay-loh-HEEM
of Abraham, אַבְרָהָם֙ ʾabrāhām av-ra-HAHM
