உன் சந்ததி இவ்வளவாயிருக்கும் என்று சொல்லப்பட்டபடியே, தான் அநேக ஜாதிகளுக்குத் தகப்பனாவதை நம்புகிறதற்கு ஏதுவில்லாதிருந்தும், அதை நம்பிக்கையோடே விசுவாசித்தான்.

ஆபிரகாமுக்குப் பிள்ளைகள் பிறப்பார்கள் என்ற நம்பிக்கை இல்லை. ஆனால் அவன் தேவனை நம்பினான். அதனால்தான் அவன் பல தேசத்து மக்களுக்கும் தந்தையானான். தேவன் “உனக்கு அநேக சந்ததிகள் ஏற்படும்” என்று சொன்னபடி ஆயிற்று.
