ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸੀ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਨਾਨ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇੱਥੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਨੂਨਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਨਾ ਰਹੋ।

After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.

I אֲנִי֩ ʾănî uh-NEE
bring מֵבִ֨יא bôʾ boh
אֶתְכֶ֥ם ʾēt ate
שָׁ֙מָּה֙ šām shahm
you, shall ye not לֹ֣א lōʾ loh
do: תַֽעֲשׂ֔וּ ʿāśâ ah-SA
in their ordinances. וּבְחֻקֹּֽתֵיהֶ֖ם ḥuqqâ hoo-KA
