מִזְמ֗וֹר A Psalm mizmôr לְדָ֫וִ֥ד of David. dāwid

יְהוָ֤ה׀ O Lord, yĕhōwâ שְׁמַ֬ע Hear šāmaʿ תְּפִלָּתִ֗י my prayer, tĕpillâ הַאֲזִ֥ינָה give ear ʾāzan אֶל to ʾēl תַּחֲנוּנַ֑י my supplications: taḥănûn בֶּאֱמֻנָתְךָ֥ in thy faithfulness ʾĕmûnâ עֲ֝נֵ֗נִי answer ʿānâ בְּצִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ me, in thy righteousness. ṣĕdāqâ

וְאַל not ʾal תָּב֣וֹא And enter bôʾ בְ֭מִשְׁפָּט into judgment mišpāṭ אֶת with ʾēt עַבְדֶּ֑ךָ thy servant: ʿebed כִּ֤י for kî לֹֽא shall no lōʾ יִצְדַּ֖ק be justified. ṣādaq לְפָנֶ֣יךָ in thy sight pānîm כָל man kōl חָֽי׃ living ḥay

כִּ֥י For kî רָ֘דַ֤ף hath persecuted rādap אוֹיֵ֨ב׀ the enemy ʾōyēb נַפְשִׁ֗י my soul; nepeš דִּכָּ֣א he hath smitten down dākāʾ לָ֭אָרֶץ to the ground; ʾereṣ חַיָּתִ֑י my life ḥay הוֹשִׁיבַ֥נִי he hath made me to dwell yāšab בְ֝מַחֲשַׁכִּ֗ים in darkness, maḥšok כְּמֵתֵ֥י dead. mût עוֹלָֽם׃ as those that have been long ʿôlām

וַתִּתְעַטֵּ֣ף overwhelmed ʿāṭap עָלַ֣י within ʿal רוּחִ֑י Therefore is my spirit rûaḥ בְּ֝תוֹכִ֗י within tāwek יִשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥ם me is desolate. šāmēm לִבִּֽי׃ me; my heart lēb

זָ֘כַ֤רְתִּי I remember zākar יָמִ֨ים׀ the days yôm מִקֶּ֗דֶם of old; qedem הָגִ֥יתִי I meditate hāgâ בְכָל on all kōl פָּעֳלֶ֑ךָ thy works; pōʿal בְּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה on the work maʿăśe יָדֶ֣יךָ of thy hands. yād אֲשׂוֹחֵֽחַ׃ I muse śîaḥ

פֵּרַ֣שְׂתִּי I stretch forth pāraś יָדַ֣י my hands yād אֵלֶ֑יךָ unto thee: ʾēl נַפְשִׁ֓י׀ my soul nepeš כְּאֶֽרֶץ land. ʾereṣ עֲיֵפָ֖ה after thee, as a thirsty ʿāyēp לְךָ֣ סֶֽלָה׃ Selah. selâ

מַ֘הֵ֤ר me speedily, mahēr עֲנֵ֨נִי׀ Hear ʿānâ יְהוָה֮ O Lord: yĕhōwâ כָּלְתָ֪ה faileth: kālâ ר֫וּחִ֥י my spirit rûaḥ אַל not ʾal תַּסְתֵּ֣ר hide sātar פָּנֶ֣יךָ thy face pānîm מִמֶּ֑נִּי from min וְ֝נִמְשַׁ֗לְתִּי me, lest I be like māšal עִם unto ʿim יֹ֥רְדֵי them that go down yārad בֽוֹר׃ into the pit. bôr

הַשְׁמִ֘יעֵ֤נִי Cause me to hear šāmaʿ בַבֹּ֨קֶר׀ in the morning; bōqer חַסְדֶּךָ֮ thy lovingkindness ḥēsēd כִּֽי for kî בְךָ֪ בָ֫טָ֥חְתִּי in thee do I trust: bāṭaḥ הוֹדִיעֵ֗נִי cause me to know yādaʿ דֶּֽרֶךְ the way derek ז֥וּ wherein zû אֵלֵ֑ךְ I should walk; hālak כִּֽי for kî אֵ֝לֶיךָ unto thee. ʾēl נָשָׂ֥אתִי I lift up nāśāʾ נַפְשִֽׁי׃ my soul nepeš

הַצִּילֵ֖נִי Deliver me, nāṣal מֵאֹיְבַ֥י׀ from mine enemies: ʾōyēb יְהוָ֗ה O Lord, yĕhōwâ אֵלֶ֥יךָ unto thee ʾēl כִסִּֽתִי׃ I flee to hide me. kāsâ

לַמְּדֵ֤נִי׀ Teach lāmad לַֽעֲשׂ֣וֹת me to do ʿāśâ רְצוֹנֶךָ֮ thy will; rāṣôn כִּֽי for kî אַתָּ֪ה thou ʾattâ אֱל֫וֹהָ֥י my God: ʾĕlōhîm רוּחֲךָ֥ thy spirit rûaḥ טוֹבָ֑ה good; ṭôb תַּ֝נְחֵ֗נִי lead nāḥâ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ me into the land ʾereṣ מִישֽׁוֹר׃ of uprightness. mîšôr

לְמַֽעַן sake: maʿan שִׁמְךָ֣ for thy name's šēm יְהוָ֣ה me, O Lord, yĕhōwâ תְּחַיֵּ֑נִי Quicken ḥāyâ בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֓׀ for thy righteousness' ṣĕdāqâ תוֹצִ֖יא sake bring yāṣāʾ מִצָּרָ֣ה out of trouble. ṣārâ נַפְשִֽׁי׃ my soul nepeš

וּֽבְחַסְדְּךָ֮ And of thy mercy ḥēsēd תַּצְמִ֪ית cut off ṣāmat אֹ֫יְבָ֥י mine enemies, ʾōyēb וְֽ֭הַאֲבַדְתָּ and destroy ʾābad כָּל all kōl צֹרֲרֵ֣י them that afflict ṣārar נַפְשִׁ֑י my soul: nepeš כִּ֝֗י for kî אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ thy servant. ʿebed
