ராஜாவை நோக்கி: ராஜா என்றைக்கும் வாழ்க; என் பிதாக்களின் கல்லறைகள் இருக்கும் ஸ்தலமாகிய நகரம் பாழானதும், அதின் வாசல்கள் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டதுமாய்க் கிடக்கும்போது, நான் துக்கமுகத்தோடு இராதிருப்பது எப்படி என்றேன்.

ராஜாவை நோக்கி: ராஜா என்றைக்கும் வாழ்க; என்னுடைய தகப்பன்மார்களின் கல்லறைகள் இருக்கும் இடமாகிய நகரம் பாழானதும், அதின் வாசல்கள் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்பட்டும் கிடக்கும்போது, நான் துக்கமுகத்தோடு இல்லாமல் இருப்பது எப்படி என்றேன்.

பயந்தாலும் கூட நான் அரசனிடம், “அரசன் என்றென்றும் வாழ்வாராக! நான் துக்கமாய் இருக்கிறேன். ஏனென்றால் எனது முற்பிதாக்களின் கல்லறைகள் உள்ள நகரம் பாழாயிற்று. அதன் வாசல்கள் நெருப்பால் எரிக்கப்பட்டன” என்றேன்.

நான் மன்னரை நோக்கி, “மன்னரே! நீர் நீடூழி வாழ்க! என் மூதாதையரின் கல்லறைகள் இருக்கும் நகர் பாழ்பட்டுக் கிடக்கும்போது, அதன் வாயில்கள் தீக்கிரையாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் போது, என் முகம் எப்படி வாடாமல் இருக்கும்?” என்றேன்.⒫

Raajaavai Nnokki: raajaa entaikkum vaalka; en pithaakkalin kallaraikal irukkum sthalamaakiya nakaram paalaanathum, athin vaasalkal akkiniyaal sutterikkappattathumaayk kidakkumpothu, naan thukkamukaththodu iraathiruppathu eppati enten.

sepulchres, קִבְר֤וֹת qeber keh-VER

and the gates וּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָ šaʿar sha-AR
thereof are consumed אֻכְּל֥וּ ʾākal ah-HAHL
