அதின் தலைவர்கள் பரிதானத்துக்கு நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறார்கள்; அதின் ஆசாரியர்கள் கூலிக்கு உபதேசிக்கிறார்கள்; அதின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் பணத்துக்குக் குறிசொல்லுகிறார்கள்; ஆகிலும் அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை சார்ந்துகொண்டு: கர்த்தர் எங்கள் நடுவில் இல்லையோ? தீங்கு எங்கள்மேல் வராது என்கிறார்கள்.

எருசலேமில் உள்ள நீதிபதிகள் வழக்கு மன்றத்தில் யார் வெல்வார்கள் என்று சொல்ல உதவிட லஞ்சம் பெறுகிறார்கள். எருசலேமில் உள்ள ஆசாரியர்கள் ஜனங்களுக்குக் கற்பிப்பதற்கு முன்னால் பணம் பெறுகிறார்கள். ஜனங்களின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கு எதிர்காலம் பற்றி தெரிந்துக்கொள்வதற்கு முன்னால் பணம் கொடுக்கவேண்டும். பிறகு அந்தத் தலைவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய உதவியை எதிர்ப்பார்க்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள், “எங்களுக்கு தீயவை எதுவும் நடக்காது. கர்த்தர் எங்களோடு வாழ்கிறார்” என்றனர்.
